Ok. I’m trying to recover from being such a nomos fan girl. But that nomos world time is just CLASS!!! Man, all of these watches are. I always love your perspective Teddy!
Thank you Teddy, I'm always glad to see coverage of my beloved FC worldtimer. It was the final gift to me from my father before he passed and therefore extra special to me.
I bought the Omega GMT Worldtimer and, honestly, the more I wear the watch, the more I like it. The details in the dial are at a whole different level. Omega has won me over with this watch. When I first saw it in my local Omega boutique, I thought the watch was going to be closer to $15k, and that is only because it is an Omega. If an identical watch was made by one of those more popular high horology brands, this could easily go for far more. We’ll done Omega.
@@allydea I absolutely still love it. It’s still a favorite and I keep it in the rotation of watches I regularly wear. So far I have had three people approached me to ask what Watch I’m wearing.
I love the world timer complication and have several. I own the Omega and love it. It wears very well, feels bullet proof and can dress up or down. Of my collection, this one gets the most notice and questions.
I just lay-buyed the Omega and couldn’t be happier. Although it’s a large watch it still wears well on a small wrist. Yes it’s expensive but it’s a stunning, eye catching watch. It’s much more expensive in Australia at a price of $13,850:00.
@@TheTightSqueeze that is direct from the omega shop in Sydney. The problem is the Aussie dollar has dropped in value compare to the US dollar at the moment
Having been lucky to acquire my "luxury" timepieces long before this madness began, I see brands like FC/Nomos etc., becoming more and more relevant. The FC Perpetual Calendar / Tourbillon, their Flyback Chronograph, and the spectacular Worldtimer are offering superb watches with previously unobtainable complications at a price where most can enjoy. I saw the FC Worldtimer on someones wrist from afar, and was convinced I was seeing a Patek. Owner was thrilled I asked, let me have a look at it, and I was thoroughly impressed, beautiful finishing, great looking on the wrist, beautiful caseback and movement design, loved it. Clearly not directly comparing them, Patek up close is like looking at painting from one of the Masters lol. My opinion only, but as Patek, AP, Rolex, etc., become more and more unobtainable, these brands are going to become more desirable. I wonder if in a couple of years, we're going to see prices from these "affordable luxury" brands start to rise significantly, as more people who are interested in the hobby want to own watches with interesting complications and quality watchmaking without having to decide whether to forgo children and/or a home for the sake of a watch :-)!
I went with the blue rubber strap version c/w deployment clasp because it blends sport with daily wear functionality especially in hotter climates. I traded my Ulysse Nardin dual time in for this watch because the level of refinement and quality in the Omega is far superior.
These are all great but the Omega is the most complete and comprehensive. I own this piece on a rubber strap and it’s very easy to set and beautifully finished
I'd like to thank you young sir. I've been on a 'what watch to get' journey for about 5 weeks. You have been a big help. I have decided, because I'm just getting 1 nice / relatively nice watch, I will get a Quartz for less hassle and better accuracy. I have pretty much decided (99.99999999%) to get a CWC GS STAINLESS STEEL, SAPPHIRE. With date (Navigator) I can't wait to order it. ... Another week or two.... Cheers! 🐕🙏🇬🇧
Hi Teddy my wife just bought me the Frederique Constant Worldtimer for my upcoming birthday..what a fantastic watch .. i was rather hesitant at the 41mm case size as i generally wear watches a little larger ..the joys of having a larger wrist .. i do have a 41mm Steinhart ocean one vintage and the FC does wear a little bit smaller but i am totally in love with this watch ...
I will pick the FC out of the three. All of them are good but I love the rotating city ring of the FC watch. The only downside is the date mini dial at the 6 o'clock position covers some of the city names. But overall, the pros outweigh the cons for the FC in my opinion.
Love these 3 watches, have been considering the Nomos for a while, may pull the trigger. Only the huge lug to lug makes me wary. FC offers a great value. Thing is I have the Citizen Blue Angels for last 9 years that has kept time accurate to the second with its Atomic clock synch function and ability adjust to any world time in one step, just point to the city you traveled and the watch does the rest!
Great review Teddy! I’m a hardcore Omega guy, and I’ve been looking at the Seamaster world timer. But I’m sort of dumbstruck by the FC! I might have to buy both :)
How I tried to talk myself into that Omega fit me, but ...it was just a bit too bulky for me. What a stunner though. Unbelievable at that price. Awesome topic today guys! ( What do you think of the new Over Pole?)
A little bit tenuous but I live in Sydney Australia and when I realised that I'm in the exact same time zone as Tokyo Japan I couldn't help but be amused. We consider ourselves a 'Western' Country but we're literally living in the Far East.
The Nomos looks sharp. But, I do like that Constant world timer the best. I am a Constant fan, I must say. Here's my take on watches, you can buy decent watches that show good taste without trying to impress others with branding such as Rolex and the like. My favorite daily wearer is the Seiko 5 snkl23. It looks classy, dressy and casual. The dial face is outstanding. I like my Bulova Lunar Pilot without the date function. I am a member of a star gazing group which David Scott showed up at to do a lecture to our small group. I asked him about that watch. I wanted to get as close to Scott's Bulova as I could. His was not a date function watch and he wore it with a NATO band. That option cost me about 150 less and it looks sharp as my (car) driver watch. My hiking watch is an inexpensive Bertucci with a NATO band. It has a quality and simplicity, even without a sapphire crystal, but looks good. Due to the low cost entry, if it does get a bit scratched, despite the hard plastic composite case, you are not breaking the bank. Keep in mind the very inexpensive Datsun 1600 roadster is a desirable classic that was inexpensive in the 60s, that can now break the bank. You can buy classy without breaking the bank. My next purchase is the metal, green Casioak, which I believe will become a desirable classic. I also want to try out a bronze watch. I am looking at the Alpina diver over Tudor. That is my take on watches.
Nice selection, thanks for showcasing. Not sure why we need abbreviations for Frederique Constant (FC) or Aqua Terra (AT) though, especially considering they are luxury brands...
For me, the FC is a terrific value and it’s easy to set. I wish it had some brushing on lugs or something to dress it up a bit. The Omega is just stunning while the Nomos just seems far too complicated
I love the OMEGA and would not mind owning it. Having said that, another watch that would compete nicely with these 3 is the MONTBLANC ORBIS TERRARUM. I own one, so I am biased, but what makes the Orbis stand out, in my opinion, is its ease of use, functionality and the beauty of its design. When traveling, all you have to do is push the pusher to change your reference city, it’s as easy as that! The showing of day/ night on the map is also a neat little complication achieved via 2 sapphire discs sandwiched together. As far as the other 2, I like them as well, and money always dictates what I acquire, but would definitely add the Omega if the planets lined up!
I like Omega, therefor the best watch in the video is the AquaTerra Worldtimer. I wear the watch with the blue rubber strap and this is quite comfortable. The video puts all information together and everybody is able to choose his favorite, well done.👍🏻👍🏻😊
I just want to point out that after extensive research on the world timer watches, I ended up buying the Nomos Zurich Weltzeit. However, shortly after 3 weeks of ownership, I discovered that I have made a fatal mistake when selecting a world timer over a GMT. The epiphany occurred when day light saving time came around and I realized that all the time zones in the United States are all off by 1 hour, which renders any world timer functions obsolete..... what a bummer...😠
The newish Omega World Timer looks even better in person. There is a steel bracelet version and a two tone with yellow gold. The best option is the woven fabric blue strap. The Frederique Constant World Timer also looks amazing in person. It comes in five color schemes (white, black, grey, green and blue), different case metal options and has a low price compared to other Swiss watch brands.
Teddy could you please do Armand Nikolet review? Is it good brand? Its an old one, but basicaly there is no info and reviews about their watches… JS9 series looks kinda cool
I don’t need to buy a vintage watch to get a worldtimer that say “Hong Kong” instead of “Beijing” or “Shanghai.” Thanks, Nomos and Frederique Constant.
Great content as always. As a South African, world time watches generally do not appeal to me as no SA city is deemed to be important enough to feature on the dial. 😢
Thoughts on the Bulgari Octo Roma Worldtimer? Just stumbled across it and really keen on it. Seems like what I wanted the Nomos to be with a less flashy dial (no world) and it's thinner than the others. No date though which I guess keeps it thinner... 😊
Great review. Nomos made a "panda style" version of the World Timer where the outer ring of the dial was black and the center was cream coloured. Just gorgeous and cool. The OMEGA just has a spectacular dial!! I think I'd go for a Tudor Pepsi GMT or a Longines Spirit Zulu time to keep in the realm of affordabilty. If I ever become a high level executive, we better get that Omega.

The Omega is just too big for me. But the fc and the nomos are really nice. As someone who loves gmt and world time watches (work for an international company), I honestly could see myself owning both of them.
Hi... I admire the simplicity of the 3 hands worldtimers such as Rado Captain Cook over the pole. Why aren't there more varieties of this kind? Use one time zone to reference the rest of the world with a simple bezel action. Problem solved
Hey Teddy. Great videos. Could you do a quick video about the Master Control “sector” dial from JLC. Can’t find any…anywhere and wondering if it was a limited run or just rare. IMO, the classiest watch under $10,000 out there.
Nomos' design just doesn't do anything for me. Is anybody else the same? I get that it's a minimalist style but to my eye it's such an extreme example that I find it looks genuinely boring and the majority of the time it looks, frankly, cheap. I just couldn't give someone $4k+ for a watch that looks like it's from AliExpress. I get that restrained minimalist design can be beautiful, refined, sophisticated, but Nomos just doesn't do that for me. Am I alone in this thinking?
The Omega is HARD to read! I mean really hard. Set GMT first, and then dial up/down the hr and coordinate the date. Stunning on the blue basket weave rubber strap with steel deployment clasp. Lack of minute index on chapter ring is regrettable. Set the watch time at 5 min increments to fix that. Very comfy, unique, and stunning for under $10K. I love it…so will you!
