Great podcast, Hawai’i 78, just beautiful. Good luck with your new venture Andrew and couldn’t think of a genuine nicer thought to auction the very first of your Ukes, which is precious. Let’s hope all you guys, Craig and Sarah and the Uke community can, as you say, step up for the people of Maui. Blessings from UK.

First look at the 'Oli! Much praise, Andrew, for your work towards this new brand and for graciously sharing this first prototype with the uke community, for a noble cause!! All love to Maui right now!!!!!!! 🙌🏽💨💞💗

Beautiful! ALOHA from “The Ninth Island”! MAHALO for doing what y’all do to spread good vibes globally and encourage help for Maui - the land and the people of Hawai’i. ❤❤❤
@@HawaiiMusicSupplyTUSI’ve just shared this video to my Facebook profile page, as well as within a private FB group for colleagues within my brokerage, and will also be adding a link to my other online outlets. It is amazing to me that music can still happen right now. Your UA-cam channel is where I first heard Mike Love and Sam Ites play. I’ve found other musicians to follow through here as well. These two ukulele players are wonderful! I hope that spreading the word will help all who suffer. Mahalo & Aloha! ❤ PS: My healing work is rooted in Ancient Hawai’i - Morrnah Simeona was my teacher’s teacher for three years or so, in the basement of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, about fifty years ago. 42:35 ❤ BEAUTIFUL PLAYING ❤ 😊
Mahalo nui Andrew for doing more than your part and spreading the word for your neighbor island. Anyone that has ever been to Maui or even Hawaii please consider donating to relief/rebuilding efforts.
Firstly, best wishes to all those families affected by the fires. Will check out the fundraisers. Amazing video as always. Would love to drop by the stores and meet you guys sometime. Cheers from Ireland.
...still haven't heard the whole podcast through because still scrolling back und forth the funky opening ...enlightening but tricky ...will cost me two years to bring it into my muscle memory, but hey - time's a wasting unless you play - thanks for the funky lesson and please continue to flabbergaste us. 🍻
could you guys talk about how you come up with new songs for each podcast? do you have a dayly routin of writting/lerning songs? is the podcast the motivation to do so? and how do you keep up with this trend of quality and inovation always?! love you guys, love the podcast 💛
Once in a while they'll have an idea before or I'll send them something to learn, but almost always we meet up at 6pm and start kicking around ideas. They'll spend 1-2 hours figuring it out and 1-10 takes later we have the intro song. The rest is gravy. Thx so much!
Aloha! (Verbosity Alert: I have a lot to say. Here it is) I first found this channel years ago, surfing the waves of UA-cam. I needed to be here, that day. Emotionally painful things of life were trying desperately to mess up my mindset. I wished to reset my headspace and get to a higher place. Mike Love (guitar, voice, some kind of electronic something or other that I still have yet to learn more about, some other cool stuff like scat I’ve not heard in a long, long time, and BARE FEET making that little box on the floor “go” (my own feet are always happiest when bare), and Sam Ites as the percussionist. Just the two of them. “Mic” Love Magic! My brain was changed in a really great way that day. Music ALWAYS lifts me, even if the piece is passionately, profoundly sad. It has been about five years since then. I subscribed to the channel back when I found it, so that I could easily find it again. I also quickly memorized the name of the channel, so that I’d not need to search through my growing list of subscriptions, looking for it. In quiet moments, I was there, on Maui in my mind, which was my first visit to HI after old Lahaina town (and some newer bits) and some people were all mixed in the ashes blowing around… 💚🔥🥰🔥💚 (typing while crying is a hard thing, but can’t compare to loss of loved ones and scorched earth). It was a dream while I was awake - whatever you want to call it; meditation, prayer; I don’t care. After I found Mike Love’s music, I was “hooked” and took off following his sound, specifically. This was back sometime in July or August 2018. I know the timing, because life drastically changed around that time for my family., in multiple, drastic and somewhat tragic ways. We’ve experienced some giant waves since then, and we are still learning to float atop them, as opposed to feeling crushed by the sheer weight of them all… Oh yeah, there was also a global pandemic to contend then. It wasn’t even safe to get in a public pool then, let alone, find some time on a crowded beach by the sea, or a peaceful retreat in the places only those who know of them, know. Thankfully, I’ve got a bathtub, at least. I sometimes feel fiery; water soothes me. I’m back now to say that, I knew, if anyone was “Johnny on the Spot” hurrying to find a way to let the healing begin, Hawaii Music Supply would do it through music somehow. if one is still available, or you can find one for me, my inner bits wish to add that 25th Anniversary Edition ukulele with the sterling rosette and silver on the fretboard to my ever-so-slowly growing collection of musical magic-makers,and special things (I don’t know how to play ukulele yet; I will learn - that’s the model for me, for many, many reasons). The money for it will show up when I need it from somewhere. Right now, I just want to know who has a new one. If someone does, I need to know who they are and how to reach them. The oli is lovely as well. I’m sure someone else is drawn to it, as I am to that Anniversary model. It isn’t about “the thing”, it’s about how it sings. Now that I’m “back” here, I’ve just learned, via @addahiatarot that this is a podcast, featuring these two amazing artists more than once. 🔥💚🦋💚🔥 I’m going to check out other episodes now. Aloha from “the 9th island”. PS. This is a good time for us all to remember to practice Ho’oponopono. taught to me two decades or so ago, by someone who’d learned from kahuna lapa’au Morrnah Simeona, as an apprentice for three years, aswell as the traditional Ancient Hawaiian way (Morrnah did alter the practice from the original way. However it is interpreted, the intention is the same: healing and restoring come through love and forgiveness. This applies to us as individuals, our environments, our social imbalances; everything. As a healer for decades, ho’oponopono has been a way for me to help those who have no rooting in Hawaiian Culture to share in the beauty of balance. 😊
Cover of 'Say something' was an Ono PO Cedar Walnut [Cory] & Ko’olau Cedar Koa T100SP [Kalei]. A special cover version. That 'Oli line is looking amazing......looking forward to seeing those arrive!
Heck yah! Lov’en the funk! Makes hand washing a mountain of dishes at 6 am way fun. Of coarse it’s taking me awhile cause I’ve got to stop and do a few swirls in the kitchen and some back up and listen to that again. Ha. I want a funk cd from you guys, just think how nice my house will look while cleaning the whole house to you guys doing a full set! Yah!
Andrew you are such a great guy, i wish you all the best with ‘Oli, the name is fitting and sounds great, the logo is beautiful, the headstock shape is gorgeous, the ukulele is beautiful and sounds amazing, all boxes checked, im excited to see where you will go with this brand, good luck brother.
Corey & Kalei - Mahalo guys! Every time I think you guys couldn’t get any better and tighter, you blow me off my chair again. Andrew, I do get jealous of your front row seat to the show the boys put on… Aloha
Pleasant morning with a coffee listening yet again to two very talented players. The Oli is very nice and auctioning it off for a very good use is great. Where do I sign up?
Jake Shimabukuro showed us at ukulele camp in Nashville, Tennessee the last week of June 2023, that he has Velcro attached to the back of his ukulele. The other half of the velcro is attached to his neck strap.
Two of the baddest ukulele players on the planet! I love these guys.
🤙🏼🤙🏼
They’re new to me… 😮😮 … ❤❤ … MAHALO! ❤❤❤❤ 45:13
