2:50 you also forgot the raven along with the animated series and the anime movie
While the first Boondock Saints didn't do well at the box office, it did big business for Blockbuster Videos, netting the soon-to-be dying company over $50 million in rentals.
I had no idea they made a sequel to donnie darko.
"Blade Runner" is a classic!
But it flopped in the box office.
Hellboy is good Hellboy 2 The Golden Army is a excellent sequel
Wish we got the third movie 😢
@@bennywark3103I kinda don’t mind if we don’t get a third one. Hellboy should keep his happy ending.
@@trasegorsuch5140 I would've liked to SEE that happy ending though.
Why does it all go down in the comics?
Exactly
Godzilla King of the Monsters was awesome in my opinion.
Yeah if they were talking about the first one, I would agree but not this one 😅
Same here
Warriors Of Virtue (1997) Loved This Movie Regardless but Warriors Of Virtue 2 (2002) had the untimely death of Kevin Todd Smith you know Aries From Hercules The Legendary Journeys (1994-1999) & Xena Warrior Princess (1996-2001) RIP died too soon buddy
Godzilla: King of the Monsters was really damn good, okay!!!
Ghost Rider?? 🔗🔥
Well, let’s hope that happens with Dungeons and Dragons.
3 more movies for this list. In 1986 William Petersen long before CSI played Will Graham who uses the help of Hannibal Lecter (played by Brian Cox) who he had caught before this film, to help catch a current serial killer. Fans of the Oscar wMel Gibson, starred in a B-movie "Mad Max." Two years later its' sequel "Road Warrior" would dominate theatres. And last but not least, in 1992, Krysty Swanson tanked as cheerleader turned hero "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." 7 seasons of "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" and 5 seasons of "Angel" would follow five years later.
The film with William Petersen that your referring to is Manhunter
Sorry, I forgot to include the name. Thank you for the addendum.@@romangunter621
Mad Max cost 350k to make and returned 8 million US, 5 million Aus, it was considered a hit in Australia, and as an Australian film, a sequel makes total sense. It also would eventually make 100 million in box office world wide and remained the most profitable movie ever, until Blair Witch knocked it off.
Y'all better not come for my boy Godzilla. We gonna have problems and complications...giggle
How do bombs get sequels?
I didn't even know Tron existed until played Kingdom Hearts 2. I'm kind of impressed that this was possible in the 1982. I think it was also the first movie to use a large amount of CG (around 15 minutes).
Highlander bombed? I think Austin Powers also got a sequel because of Home Video sales. Why did they keep making Highlander if it was not profitable? The anime was pretty good. They wiped the slate clean because the official timeline is a huge mess. Might as well reboot the series.
Hellboy 2019 was better than I expected. I'm bummed we'll never get a proper sequel to Hellboy 2.
Blade Runner 2 was 3 hours? No wonder I almost fell asleep watching it.
I've certainly never watched them, but the first thing I thought of when I saw this topic was that Jason Statham 'Crank' movie.
"The Chronicles of Riddick", my all time favorite movie. I used to annoy the hell out of my husband bc I could recite the movie word for word. LOL He would get so mad & tell me to shut up. Hahaha! And I never knew they made a sequel to "Donnie Darko".
Boondocksaints ❤
“THERE WAS A FIREFIGHT!”
"Before they were famous?"
Willem DaFoe was a big star already.
1:38 no way it made under a million dollars
Most of the movies here didn't do well at the box office, but made up the difference on home video, and then got sequels that were for the most part disappointing in quality and revenue.
Would be nice if Hellboy finally got that 3rd installment....
Loved boondock saints but can't find it anywhere
did you try online
Boondock Saints is one of my all-time Favorites! ❤
Godzilla: King of the Monsters was an amazing film improved that somewhere the real king was not the lion.
It sucks how it didn’t make as much as they wanted, but I wouldn’t say it was a flat out box office bomb
The weird thing about Blade Runner is that it takes place in the same universe as Soldier.
"Star Trek: The Motion Picture" wasn't a great box office hit, but "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" happened.
What a slap in the face to Willem Dafoe… insinuating his career before Boondocks was almost non existent? Guy had been acting a solid 19 years prior to that… including Platoon smmfh
_Blade Runner_ a box office bomb? Who knew?
everyone
It was.
It was ahead of its time!
And of course I was first in the door opening day in Fresno CA for Blade Runner.
The Wizard of Oz did not perform well at the BO but hit it big on TV syndication.
Actually some of these were not sequels but remakes, such as Tron.
Boondock Saints is by far the best movie on this list
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! Being a huge Tron fan since the early 80s, I enjoyed watching 'Tron:Legacy (2010)'. 🤣
What about 1995’s Judge Dredd and 2012’s Dredd
What about Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey?!
That movies budget was 100000 dollars, and it did earn 5,2 million dollars at box office. So it was box office success, not a box office bomb.
I’m excited as fuck for tron 3
Same . I hope it's done great. Speaking of Tron, the original one will always be the best. Also I think Disney world did a great job with the Tron coaster at magic kingdom.
Hellboy golden army is one of my favorite movies ever!!!!! I pray The crooked Man delivers the goods
I’ve only seen Tron and Tron Legacy together as well as Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049.
I went to watch tron Legacy 3d in the cinema the first one bombed but has gone on to be a very special movie.
Donnie Darko: there wasn't a plane crash. The engine became detached from the plane.
Tron Legacy was great, and the soundtrack is amazing thanks to the legends Daft Punk! Shame they have now called it a day, who will take over the score for the 3rd film? Gonna be hard for however to follow such an epic soundtrack.
Honorable mention - Iron Fist from 20% to 55%
Razzie (0%-50%) to Razzie Dodger (51%-70%)
Not Inhumans
iron fist is a tv show not a movie
@@jimbo9208 Inhumans first 2 eps stayed at Imax for two days and made 3 million
Its time we remember the Lowest rated MCU Razzie
@@SirsasthNigam. again, that a tv show not a movie
If this list says anything it's just because a movie bombs at the box office doesn't mean it's bad. So many of these are brilliant movies
I really like enjoy blade runner but I never could finish blade runner 2049 ever.
Not sure what kind of box office the '79 Star Trek movie did. Critical response was abysmal. But it got a sequel, and heavens, what a sequel...
True, Star Trek: The Motion Picture was universally hated by critics, mostly due to its slow pacing, but otherwise, it was a box office success financially, bringing in over $70 million.
0:25 the laziest hacker in all of Vancouver
The ENCOM scenes will filmed at the Lawrence laboratory in Livermore CA. The ‘LASER room’ was a real experimental fusion LASER called Shiva. I had the privilege of touring the facility.
Highlander Endgame is my favorite.
RIP Harrison Fords boss from Blade Runner. Still don't know why he had to explain to Deckard what an android is.
Lol because it's a film trying to be Real life
8:47 more blade boredom
There is no Highlander 2!!!
1:56 if only i can find s darko
I'm sorry but I love King of Monsters 😂
The Boondock Saints 3 is in the works.
It helps that Norman Reedus is not on-contract for The Walking Dead anymore.
Who would've thought that 1999 Norman Reedus would be one of the most popular stars on TV over a decade later?
@@isaacgleeth3609 Well, he has his own spinoff for The Walking Dead, but I'm not sure how far they're into shooting the second season.
The Nut Job got a sequel . That's not a good movie . Who asked for it ? Also , Norm of the North . Why ? Is it torture ? 😢
I hate the new hellboy
Mee too. I wished we got del toro's Hellboy 3
Triple X 3 made $365M on a $85M budget...that is not a box office bomb
Actually they did say in this video that XXX: State of the Union (second XXX-movie) was a box office bomb, not XXX: Return of Xander Cage.
Hello good morning
Donnie Darko doesn't have a sequel
I would like to see Baby Geniuses on this list. The problem: that piece of 💩 actually made a profit.
May have been a mistake? 😂
what the f**k are you doing calling Tron and Blade Runner box office bombs (by modern standards)! Both made money when promotion budgets were far smaller
Tron (1982) made $50m on a budget of $17m.
Tron: Legacy (2010) made $400m on a budget of $170m.
Neither movie "bombed" and as a percentage the original had a better return!
As to the question of did Tron and Blade Runner deserve a sequel? The more pertinent question is did they need a sequal? And to my mind they didn't, it goes to show how lazy and lacking in original ideas hollywood can be.
Nobody wants a sequel that's trash like the first one.
I like the TRON franchise and I love the MonsterVerse, though GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS is the universe's low point.
First
no one cares
Loser
Lets go nice job mate
@@furkanbozdag8198 sad that you even care if they are
Didn’t you guys put blade runner as your number 1 sci-fi movie adaptations list
and what if they did what dose that have to do with this
@@jimbo9208 because if they like it so much, why are they putting it as number one box office bomb?
@@user-wz7dp2xs4c because of the list just read the title
King of the monsters was the best in franchise, god vs king was fukn dukey, mecha was only thing goin for it, is god vs king 2 gun b bad as well??
