These have got to be writings from some tome. This is all so incredible and true. I'm glad you put this together, please do the other seasons as well if you have time, you will have at least one person touched by this.
All of those were powerful arcs/moments/characteristics of those Volumes. Like Noah's urge to protect his family from Ted Sprague - that was probably one of the most touching thrills I've seen in a television series; despite all the plans and the lies, he's still trying to protect his family. I digress; Season 3 started out good, I figured "Future Peter" would make the plot a little more intricate, but the writers kept trying to erase Volumes 2 and 3. Which was really sad.
Even when he vanished in Volume 2, I was clenching my teeth until the episode with a flashback to his death occurred. They spent all that time keeping him alive (despite getting thrown across a room by a superhuman, shot in the shoulder with a rifle round, wanted by police, fighting Jessica twice, and almost dying at the end of Volume 1) just to kill him off like that. -_- Then there's Monica and Alejandro. Interesting "Accidental antagonists", Alejandro gets killed off, Maya becomes irrelevent
Where is "Where does it come from, this quest? This need to solve life's mysteries when the simplest of questions can never be answered? Why are we here? What is the soul? Why do we dream? Perhaps we'd be better off not looking at all. Not delving, not yearning. But that's not human nature. Not the human heart...." :-(
5 years after my comment that was never replied and 15 years after I first decided to write, record and translate ALL of Mohinder's voiceovers + Sylar + Nathan + Samuel + every voiceover from season promos I could find + Bennet in Heroes Reborn... I come here to say I've finally found the LAST voiceover!!! Which I'm gonna edit and include in my complete voiceover videos now! The voiceover in question, is from the Deleted Sex Scene of Peter & Simone, which sadly, didn't come with the collection box in my stupid country, where only 6 out of 7 DVDs were included. So I'm guessing this voiceover/scene was in the last Disc.
I've read a couple of comments wishing that Heroes would "abandon time travel", but honestly, I hope they stick with it. I hope that if there was a Volume 6, we'd be on the doorstep of another "bad future" that would force one of the heroes to go back to like, the fifth or sixth episode, maybe even before, and confront various problems. They brought Kaito Nakamura, Charlie, and Adam back - so maybe they could get some of the others back as well.
yeah, i've always though Season 3 would revisit the dark future from seson 1, the five years in the future setting, never happened but I loved all seasons, except the new-gen shit called Reborn.
Sorry, Maya and Alejandro were the "accidental antagonists" - I was expecting for Maya to become a foil/vice for our Heroes, but that didn't exactly happen. THEN there's Monica, who vanished along with Micah, both of whom had interesting powers. Nathan's "religous" experience and Linderman's reapperance being written off as illusions crafted by Maury, who gets killed off, and Adam, who comes back (as expected) only to get killed off. The AWESOME "villain" team gets killed off pretty fast.
In his place, they wanted Adam to be the villain (And they ruined that). Then they wanted Pineheart, Knox, and Pete's dad to be the villains (and they blew that one too). The bad future in Season 3 was great... I just don't think it was executed well. The Light, Daphne, Hiro being a jerkass towards Ando, Mohinder becoming a Hero, and the death of Niki to introduce Tracey... enh.
How did you record this so clearly? I have memorized the entire narrative, all seasons + Reborn. I have it written in order and even made it with scenes of the first season, I never owned the second season DVDs so only now I'm starting to do the same for the second season.
The reason such shows like this die is because the general public only wants shows that has explosions that is visually stunning and/or emotionally down to earth. Such timeless series such as Heroes that talks about the human condition isn't attractive to people, because looking at the truth is much more difficult than being ignorant.
I'm sort of watching LOST right now so my opinion has kind of diminished since I wrote this. :D But I guess in hindsight I still like Volumes 3-5; it's just, having to "redeem Sylar twice" feels a bit silly, killing off the Speedster, removing Monica and Micah, and keeping Noah/Peter on got a little ridiculous. But yeah, Peter going all "Sylar", and then having "Future Sylar" and Sylar's "Dad" show up were interesting... for Sylar fans. The show really wanted to make Sylar into a Hero.
...deal with superpowered antagonists and was basically the "Professor Hamilton" to a cast of genetically-confused protagonists. He stood out, but even he gets a super power. There's just so many "Ugh!" moments in Volume 3 and 4, I can see they were trying to regain those moments that make you go "Wow, I need to go hug someone" in Volume 5, but by that point, the magic was basically gone.
Getting back to my point, it seems Volumes 2-4 are what drove the show downward - they took away that "deepness" the first Volume possessed, so the "general public" lost interest, and by Volume 5 it seems the budget was diminished and the actors were less and less available. So to me, its kind of ironic you would say that the public let this show die because it wasn't packed with explosions or stunning visuals, because "looking at the truth" is unattractive to television audiences.
That's a pretty big generalization. I've become a Heroes fan only recently, and while I do love the series, I wouldn't blame "the general public". The writing suffered in Season 3, favorite characters like Suresh and Hiro became problematic, ridiculous, and underwhelming. The first season was incredibly popular - for exploring the human condition as you say. My take is that the later seasons lost that "human" element, and they tried to regain it at Volume 5.
Personal point of view: Killing off Niki and DL was the stupidest thing they did. At first, I thought they were going to pull that stereotype of killing off the black character first... and you know as well as I do there were like 4-5 chances to kill him off. And Heroes surprised me - he turned out to be a very good character, and he lived for some time. He wasn't the antagonist, he was one of the more heroic protagonists, he legitimately cared for his family, and he protected them when posible.
I dissagree, season three was the most gripping worldwide. it had the most charecter changes, and a depth added to Quinto's charecter, Sylar. the show was thriving untill Season four (Volume 5), and yes, the budget was dimished but you allso have shows like house, bones and others that were grapping audiences attention. all the way through season 3, Heroes was the WORLDS #1 most watched, downloaded, dvr'd and bought show. Heroes was canceled for other shows to get audences back to NBC.
Volumes 1 and 2 were great, and Volumes 1 and 2 were particularly unnerving for me, featuring a character who was at risk of a blood clot/anuerysm (scary), and another character who was vastly in debt. New York's fate left in the hands of 7-10 people, conspiracies, a serial killer who feasts on br... knowledge. Volume 5 was creepier, with Hiro facing terminal condition. But it was also hopeful, because Hiro barely gave a shit about it (favorite character). The deaf woman, the carnies, Suresh.
By Volume 3, the only thing that really matters is that Angela Petrelli cannot be trusted, and the future gets effed'd up because of whatever inconvenience is happening. There's no soul to it, not when Angela keeps coming up with new "connections" that upon Volume 4 were ridiculous in their quantity, or when Claire consistently defies someone JUST to get them killed, captured, or worse. When Suresh sticks himself with "superpower syringe" despite being a conflicted scientist who's had to...
Great! Mohinder's opening monologue was what really set the show apart. It was something that you truly could relate to. Heroes is greatly missed.
These have got to be writings from some tome.
This is all so incredible and true.

I'd rather have him narrate my life over morgan freeman.
Why not both.
@@whosthebest5171There’s something about Mohinder’s sentimental tone..
Yeah, it’ll be like a recap on your life
God I love heroes :') From season 1 to season 4, they're all good :D

he made this coz he was hightlighting the "discovery of self" theme only, he probably never watched Heroes.

Sylar's is my favourite. It speaks to me the most.
What does THAT say?
Does anyone knows how to get all the voice overs or a book that has all of them?

They need to make another video like this one but from season 1 all the way to heroes reborn.
I think that would be amazing.

It happened with a lot of tv shows including the like of Prison break due to the writers strike.
