I found the Tao in a nutshell once. It was an almond, and it was delicious.

The best warrior leads without haste fights without anger overcomes without confrontation.
He puts himself below and brings out the highest in his men.

One who sees himself as everything is fit to be guardian of the world.
One who loves himself as everyone is fit to be teacher of the world.

When you stop understanding, you will know without understanding. and nothing is worth knowing except your own total ignorance.

Well said, it contains all secrets. I pour tears and feel a sort of realigent that's probably the greatest feeling I've ever felt. I've introduced many people to the tao yet as it says most don't even begin to understand.

the mistake is yearning beyond what one can see. There is no way. Those who seek a way or the way are lost or hunting. True seekers of the way are but searching for something they already left behind not seeing what they still have. life and limb

Nice video, I'd like to constructively add, Tao is never in any language pronounced with a 't' as in Tom, it is Tao. Phonetically pronounced (dow.)

The first letter in “Tao” is an approximation of a Chinese sound that does not have an exact English equivalent. The most accurate rendition would be a combination “t” & “d” sound, as in “Tdhow.”

Are we to be careful of what we love (because life is too short) here in the now? What will our afterlife look like if we love everything do we become one with it? Or is there no such thing as afterlife as we understand it? If we Are here in the now within multiverses living in a simulation does this mean we died 2012?

WHY DO PEOPLE INSIST ON HAVING TRANQUIL STYLE MUSIC PLAYING IN THE BACK GROUND OF EASTERN PHILOSOPHY VIDEOS? A MODERATE PACED VOICE IS ALL THAT IS NEEDED.... THE MESSAGE OF THE WORDS IS POWERFUL ENOUGH, NO MUSIC IS NEEDED....

True that dear friend but why shout your message when tranquility is the heart of it's content. Therefore are you hearing you my friend because everyone's needs are different, prefer to roll with "whatever works" (AA) not only tolerance for oneself but for others gives compassion and understanding. Namaste.

      @@garyowen3662Chapter 1
      道可道,非常道。名可名,非常名。
Tao can be followed, but there is no defined or a regular way to follow.
Tao can be described, but there is no defined or a regular description to describe it.
      无, 名天地之始。有, 名万物之母。
‘Invisible’, is being used to describe the origin of the universe.
‘Visible’, is being used to describe the mother (source) of all things.
      故常无,欲以观其妙。 常有, 欲以观其徼。
Hence, stay regularly in the state of ‘invisible’; in order to realize the mightiness of Tao.
Stay regularly in the state of ‘visible’ (physical world); in order to realize the functions of Tao.
      此两者同出而异名,同谓之玄。
Both of them are of the same origin, but with different names; both are non-explainable.
      玄之又玄,众妙之门。
The combination of these two non-explainable forms the door (source) of all living beings.

      Comment:
*Invisible means ‘emptiness’; and visible means ‘color’ in Buddhism sutra.
*Einstein Theory E=mc^2. The mass ‘m’ represents the visible item; the constant ‘c’ of light frequency represents the invisible item.
The energy E is the origin of the visible and the invisible.
*The state of ‘invisible’ refers to the state of meditation. The state of ‘visible’ refers to the state of physical body activities.
*The last part is to point out that a living being is made up by the combination of invisible consciousness and visible physical body.
