Fast st car no matter the brand...sure pulled good up top once the heads started working.
Amazing to see these cars in showroom condition running all out.
Sure is. Yet so many are convinced if they drive a restored car somehow it will get ruined! Meantime these guys are having fun.
Had a 69 Road Runner. Never had a problem with Fords.
This is quite possibly your finest work.
Thanks for showing the burnout area before each race too, awesome!!
These videos are awesome!
Hell yeah, welcome back nostalgia is where it’s at👍
IN 69, THE ROADRUNNER WAS MOTOR TREND’S CAR OF THE YEAR , MUCH RESPECT TO FORD WITH THE BOSS IN 1970 , CHEVY HAD THE LS-6 , BUT THE PLYMOUTH CUDA AND DODGE CHALLENGER SMOKED IT WITH A FASTER QUARTER MILE TIME !!!!!
13.1 and 13.3 106-108 for the ls6 which mopars are you referring to?
@@gordocarbo I WOULD BE REFERRING TO THE QUARTER MILE TESTS OF ROAD & TRACK OR MOTOR TREND TESTING !! 13.5 SEC. 70 HEMI CUDA , 70 LS - 6 CHEVELLE 13.8 SEC. HEAVIER CAR !!!
Missed you
Dammit.. GTX got him out of the hole.. Thank you CZ!! I'M subscribed!! Lol
Pretty consistent times for a 4-speed. 13.78, 13.74 and 13.75.
GTX was automatic and sure did have consistent times. Torino with the 4 speed not so much.
Myself had a 70 thunderbird with the 429 thunderjet motor. A living room on wheels
Heading to a concert in Detroit the I-75 overpass that goes uphill towards Detroit
I hit well over 130mph and the car started shaking so I let off. She still had more.
That being said doing a burn out broke the frame in 1/2.
That was her demise. I would have loved to have that motor in a Fairlane or stang.
Looks like the Torino is actually the faster car as it pulled better times than the GTX.
Now that's what a race would look like back in the day. As always the owners are as awesome as the cars.
The Torino had some making a sandwich on the tree issues !!
I think you've outdone yourself with this video, the angry boomer, I thought I was looking in a mirror!
HA!
I had a 440 before so im not surprised by the numbers. It's nice to know that the common 440 would run with the Super Cobra Jet though. It's a proven engine too. I dont think a SCJ could handle all the things ppl put 440s through. The 440 (6 pack) is one of the few factory engines that could outrun a hemi. Never underestimate a 440!!!
You realize these cars are stock appearing right?
The Torino had good trap speeds. Put 4.10's in that GTX and say goodnight. That car ran hard !!
this is a fair race ! both use BF-Goodrich Radials !!
That’s Torino seemed like it was a handle to launch
trap speed, trap speed, trap speed
Don't forget the engine oil cooler with the drag pack!!
I love them both
THAT TWO-TONE PAINT
C n Z !! True to FORM!! Loved every second!!
The guy running the Cobra fell asleep at the tree
I like Mopar but that Torino is badass they ran another race that Torino probably would have taken it
THAT SAME TORINO COBRA JET WITH HIDEAWAY HEADLIGHTS IS MUCH BETTER LOOKING
The Ford did go upstairs with that mph no doubt
humorous video
Great race as usual! Love that GTX, but that Cobra is so cool, too.
About time
Love the name
@@CarsAndZebras Love the channel 🤘🏻
Beautiful cars.
Well the quickest (and best looking) car lost because the GTX had a more experienced driver. That Torino was the best looking one of them all and with ALL the right boxes checked off! Too bad they didnt make a light weight version, maybe getting it under 4,000 lb.?
Reminds me of the UTG (uncle Tony garage)race this weekend where he holeshotted a F100 w/ 700hp 429 and him in a 318 powered 4 door mopar (with a little Nitrous).
Getting it out of the hole without spinning was the problem.
2 of my favourite cars.
WReslting clip wtf dude LOL!
ANyone recognize Tom Platz aka Dr Squat in this vid?
good eye
That 429SCJ was mad underrated. There's a dyno video on here of an original, unopened one that thumped out 484 hp with headers ( 18k miles )
The cam in the 429 sounded bigger than 375 horsepower
Good stuff!
