for that "hidden" bolt, take a piece of plastic and put it between the bolt head and 13mm socket. That should hold it in there pretty good. HOWEVER.... I can't get the strut into the knuckle. To tight. can't twist or get it started. It keeps going sideways,
Spent all day trying to get this done. Tomorrow I'll have better luck. Come to find out the shop that gave my niece the estimate for struts was trying to do unnecessary work. Replace struts and sway bar links are good.
I have a suspension noise. Sounds like a thump from front driverside while driving over rough road. Thought you might be helpful. I have a 2009 nissan murano awd. Took car to stealership to install front struts and passenger wheel hub with assembly. Car was in coma for 8 days. I never had that suspension noise prior to service. I have other maintenance issues too. Can you help?
Did you not use a strut spreader tool to be able to get the strut out? You just dropped it out like magic, without showing how difficult it is to get it out.
I have been looking for a set of complete strut assemblies for my 14 rogue for months now..... WHERE DID YOU GET THESE STRUTS?.... can you possibly get me a part #??.... I know it's an older video but I would appreciate it... GREAT VIDEO BY THE WAY!!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
notice they don't show you how much of a pain in the ass to get out and put back in...... I would love to sit in some of these auto companies and say Why, Just why are you making it so difficult to design car and truck and some of them you gotta get to these part are just plain stupid as heck, the cam sensors are in the back left side, the amount of shit you gotta take out to get to them is insane, but good job on the video
Wrong way to install the new one!!!! You don't tight up the upper mounting plate bolts unless the lower mouth is done first, and full weight of the vehicle is on the tires.
I see your point, but I don't think it matters that much for struts. I think that's more important for tightening bushing bolts on control arms, that sort of thing. That's where the suspension needs to be loaded (vehicle weight) before torqueing of bolts.
Aaaand here's how to do this job by a guy you wouldn't want within 10 yards of your car. Banging tools all over the car, carelessly letting the strut just drop onto the brake caliper and knuckle. Too lazy to use his other hand to prevent it from just falling full weight. Come on, man.
Lol, this video is three years old. I'm a very talented mechanic, but trying to make videos and work is alot harder than you think-another reason this channel has been abandoned for so long
@@405autoflipstricks7 The age of the video is irrelevant, unless you are going to say you treat the car better than that these days. I never said it was easy making videos. I don't do it. But if I started, I would not let a strut just fall onto whatever is below it, especially if it's a customer's car.

Streams of tears running down my face when I see a impact drill while doing mechanical stuff...in the end very detailed video thanks!

@@405autoflipstricks7 thanks guy.... really appreciate it, gonna check them out...
Keep up the ASE chanic. I am following you. You are very interesting and cool.
This guy is Cool 😎 👍
Wow, you cost your customers extra unnecessary money because you’re afraid of pulling a strut apart.
How the fuck did you get the strut separated from the knuckle with the axel still in
I'm guessing by PB blaster and that hammer hitting the knuckle in a downward motion
The control arm can flex down enough for the strut to come out of the knuckle
