I have another tip that might be usefull for what you say about distractions, how people do lots of things at the same time and then your brain is still busy and not relaxing at all. My tip is: do something difficult that requires all your attention. I noticed this when i got lessons to learn how to drive a motorcycle, I was superscared and i thought it was very difficult, but I noticed that after every lesson it had been so relaxing also, my mind didnt wonder off for one second, i didnt think about work, i didnt think about any problems or whatever was bothering me, i only thought about the motorcycle and how to steer and handle it, and the other traffic and what i needed to do to get the motorcycle to do what i wanted. It helped maybe that i wasnt a natural talent so it took me a long time to master the skills, but it really was very relaxing and gave me a lot of energy. Ofcourse there will be a point where you have mastered it and then you have to find something new to learn. :-)
You are the first UA-camr to explain us about energy management. This is so needed, we often ignore. Superb video, Vera! Your channel is indeed unique. I am working on multiple ventures and these tips will help me to avoid a burnout. Thanks. 😊
Ankita Patil You said it perfectly. And I really relate to working on multiple ventures at once. It can be overwhelming at times, right? Best wishes for you getting it all done! 💕
You have such great varied content! I have not seen many videos about energy management. My new goal lately is to stop going to my phone when I’m tired or I have a free moment. We know this, but I find myself still doing it. I find my brain is happier and calmer not always going to my phone to fill the void. Our brains need to breathe! 🙂
I have never had more energy especially in the mornings until I quit all caffeine. No tea (both black and green tea have caffeine, so now I only drink herbal), no coffee, no soda (some soda has caffeine), no energy drinks. I used to have a hellish sleep schedule, being super tired at night but unable to sleep and being a zombie in the mornings who couldn't wake up even with 5 snoozes until it was late. Now I actually wake up on my own before the alarm most of the time and just kinda lie there relaxed, slowly waking up on my own, and well rested in the morning until alarm rings and then I am up and ready for anything. And throughout the day I would have pretty even energy levels without feeling like I need a nap in a middle of the day. And all that from just quitting caffeine (which I was actually not trying to quit at the time, just stop for a few months due to a different reason). Once the initial 2 weeks of withdrawal symptoms were gone (headaches and sleepiness), I felt so amazing I swore off caffeine forever. I no longer even crave it and I am never going back to it. Strangely enough I realized I actually absolutely hated the smell and taste of coffee the whole time. Now that I am not craving the caffeine in it I realize it makes me gag and kinda always did. That's why I used to drown my coffee in milk and heavy cream and sugar.
This could have not come at a better time. I feel my energy was drained out from work for the last few weeks, cramming up to do as much as I can before the end of the day, working late, with no lunch/no breaks, and yet work keeps piling up. I also keep a mental note on my to do list before I go to sleep! Friday was no exception. The irony of it all is I advise my love ones to always take care of themselves- and yet I find it very challenging to do it for myself😔. I love my job, but is very demanding. I just finished your morning meditation and if I could give it a million thumbs up every morning, this space is not enough. Thank you Vera, as always. May light, peace, happiness and calm follow you everywhere you go. 💙
I spent 16 years of my life (school + 4 years of college) with the mindset that I will burn myself out on work and use the long vacations to recharge, only to realize very quickly that that's not how the adult world works. I'll definitely be working small, frequent breaks into my schedule. Maybe not every hour like clockwork, but definitely at several points throughout the day.
Vera, loved this video as always. Your discussion of the myth of relaxation reminds me of people who take trips/ holidays for relaxation, but then fill up their itinerary with loads of stuff that are anti-relaxation. They then come home just as tired as when they left. 🤦🏾♀️ The opening quotation was spot on, thank!💚
Haha yes that's a great example :D I would actually do that until a few years ago when I just decided, no more haha. My boyfriend would always tell me that I filled up all our days with stuff to do and that made him tired haha. It actually made me tired as well. But when you're in Tokyo for example, there's so much stuff I want to see, it's hard not to. :) Anyway, vacations are not supposed to make you feel even more tired haha, so I'm keeping it much more low key now
Hi vera. This is your nurse friend in Florida usa. I enjoy your videos so very much and I have most of my co-workers watching them as well. Because of this and the fact that we work long hours and have short time for breaks. We have tried to implement small things during the day to help us as well. We now have our 1:00 planks we're at 1:00 in the afternoon we all gather together and try to do a one minute plank on the floor. We also have 10 minutes where we walk around the office as fast as we can so that we can get in a little bit of exercise and break as well. I just wanted to let you know that your videos definitely changed all of our lives for the better and make us try to be the best person that we can be while allowing ourselves to forgiveness and listening to our bodies more. We work in such a stressful relief job that it is very hard to find that time.
This is a much needed video for people to watch. We find ourselves living in a world today that is literally stressing itself to death. Society turns to electronic devices, comfort food, or drug use to alleviate that stress. Which in turn makes up more stress that is killing people. Humanity is constantly finding brand new ways to inflict damage on itself. Ironic isn't it! I myself only use my phone for 30 minutes a day total and I don't watch t.v. Instead, I walk, go hiking, take a jog for a couple of miles, do some writing or artwork, plus I engage in Zen Buddhist meditation (Zazen). I'm as calm as a slug...no stress here baby! Lol!!!
I had to get rid of all my clothes and put them in garbage bags for good will. I bought sets of clothes that were minimal and useful. First step in clearing your mind is cleaning your closet and reducing your wardrobe. Great vid.
Deep slow Yoga breathing is perfect for a short break, it actually improves the chemistry of your whole body while it relaxes your mind and muscles. Alternate nostril breathing too. Love your videos!
I’m also suffering from burnout and looking for a way out of my current career while job searching. The movement vs. stillness tip is a great insight. Sometimes I try to stop and breathe and meditate at my desk. It just doesn’t work. I will try to move or go outside, away from my environment instead.
Your videos are just so good! I have been following you for quite a while now and I think your channel is getting better and better. ☺️ Thanks for the useful tips! Much needed. And - maybe it’s not so important, but still - I really like how you have always integrated nature shots into your videos, they are so relaxing to watch while listening to your words. Please don’t change this format! :D
Vera I needed a video like this so much! I work from home for my company and they give me so work since I don’t drive into the office. I have a little atrium in my house so for 10 minutes I sit there a just try to take a break and just look at my plants. Seems to help relax my mind. Thank you for all the great information.😘
Thank you Vera, another very helpful video. I realized that I have so many distractions that’s why I can’t focus and it takes a longer time for me to study.I hope more people will subscribe to your channel coz you are a breath of fresh air.Have a wonderful day!☺️❤️🌸
Another great way to reduce stress and to save more energy is simplifying your life. In this video, I share 5 habits to help you do that: 👉🏻 ua-cam.com/video/-KHXtlze1_g/v-deo.html
Your videos are my absolute favorite out of all the videos I watch on UA-cam. They mean so much to me and I look forward to them each week. I am so happy to see your channel grow all the time and at quite a fast pace too ❤
I have adult attention deficit disorder, so if I take a break, there's a good chance I won't get back to my task which is why I keep working once I get started. I have scheduled Yoga, meditation, a long quiet time at lunch, and I spend time in the morning and evening reading for fun. For me, hourly breaks aren't necessary because I try to keep my energy high using all the techniques you recommend--and because I'm semi-retired. Thank you. Just love your videos.
Valuable advice Vera, thank you so much. I find that if I have something which demands my attention I can’t have any other distractions (music, radio 4 etc) or I simply can’t think straight. I need peace and quiet to concentrate in order to do a thorough job. Once I’ve completed the task I reward myself with coffee and the radio or time with a good book (or UA-cam😊) 💛
Daily scheduling is something I do. I schedule the night before do I don't tax my mind before going to bed. I also have a cup of sleepy time tea which is wonderful for me. Being prayful and greatful for all good thing in my life is relaxing rather than reprimanding myself for what went wrong throughout the day.
I drink around 90 oz of water while at work. Not only do I have to get up to refill my water, but I also have to take frequent bathroom breaks. I so agree with the multi-tasking myth, it's so unproductive! Great video.
I always look forward to your inspiring videos, not only for helpful comments, but for those lovely, relaxing nature scenes. I live in a country where you seldom see people not using their phones at work, out in the street, in restaurants, tansportation, etc. so I very much agree that you just have to park the different social media systems in order to truly relax and reenergize our minds.
What a lovely video. You are absolutely right that we mindlessly engage in things that are draining our energy and don’t really serve us. These are wonderful tips that remind us to give full focus on things that matter, and to take real breaks that are restorative. Many thanks, Vera! 💕🌸
Another great video Vera and beautiful scenery which I appreciate. When I’m tired I either lie down for 20 minutes and just rest, play with my kittens or go for a walk in the fresh air. Enjoy the rest of your weekend 💕💕💕
Thank you Tina! I love your suggestions and I would love to have some pets around to play with haha. Lately I've been petting a cat every now and then and my allergies seem to have gone down a bit, so maybe it'll be possible in the future :D
I have a problem with watching way too many UA-cam videos because I love learning. Thanks for reminding me to take a break every now and then. Good video Vera!
You're very welcome Ngoni! :) Did you know, you can also set a break in the youtube settings after a certain amount of time. For example, if you watch for more than 30 minutes, you'll get a notification to take a little break from youtube. Might be nice :)
Great video-lots to think about. Made me think of how many times I “take a break” from my work by picking up my phone to check social media, accompanied by some caffeine. My one tip: fresh air! When I get to work each day (small office), I open all the windows. Air flow really helps me! Thanks, Vera! Have a lovely weekend! 🌷
this year i took 5 weeks off and it so happened that it was the lockdown for COVID-19 but i didn't regret it as I was able to declutter and relax with the family. then next week ill be off for a week coz it's school holidays.. it's soo hood to have mini breaks ❤️
I love your videos, the music you choose, the content, the fact that your voice is so relaxed, it all has a calming effect on me. I am in a journey to minimalism, it's been stressful, but eye opening, and definitely rewarding. I like to watch your videos in the morning cause they help me relax and give me good energy to start my day in a good mood. Keep up the good work!
Good morning Vera I look forward to all of your videos They truly are zen for me and act as a reminder as to what is important in life I’m afraid I am an out of control consumer I want to be a minimalist but I am not doing it It’s as if I can’t stop Can you please suggest a video or some strategies to help me Again I thank you for your sharing
For energy pick-ups, I like a 10-minute mediation or a multi-joint warm-up (easy exercise.) For sleep, I go to sleep easily, but I wake up way too early. Like 2 am or 4 am. My preferred time to get up is 6:30 am.
Nice content Zen,im new subscriber to you and I like to watch your videos from bottom onwards in your list.😊 I spend my small break 1.watching plants in my balcony 2.Taking few breaths 3.organise my room 4.Place wet cloth in my eyes for 5mins it's give a good relaxation 5.Body scan relaxation
That's great, welcome to the channel and thanks for watching my videos :D Great tips you added as well, I especially like the wet cloth idea, I'm going to try that haha
This is so relevant Vera, for so many of us living in this chaotic world, thank you. 💕 I find that taking time to breathe or pray helps more than scrolling through social media or watching Netflix. Though I do love me some Netflix and chill at times. Great job on the beautiful video.💕💕xo
Hi Vera, your tips are amazing, specially this one " when you scroll your phone and watch pics and videos on social media you are loosing your energy. " Honestly I was not aware of it , whenever I get tired and find time to relax I open my Instagram or Facebook account . Your video is a eye opener. Thank you so much for sharing.
So glad that tip was helpful! :) I think a lot of people are not really aware of this and it can quickly become a habit. So it's nice to pay attention to your energy levels and see what things recharge and what things drain energy :) Have a nice week!
This came at the perfect time... I was just thinking how over scheduled it's been in our house! Love the focus on energy. Thanks for a great video Vera... One of my favs ❤️
Taking breaks is necessary to clear our mind, to feel more motivated and excited, to gain energy to carry on. We need to take time for ourselves and relax, we're so wrapped up in our routines that sometimes we forget to take a moment to breathe :) Love your channel ♡♡♡
My tips : touching with mindfullness some leaves or plants, i feel recharged by doing this. Also with watering my plant. It just takes about 2-3 minutes.
Thank you Vera, for such practical advice. Taxing the brain and finding remedies is so important to me. I do alot of avoidance of my feelings, harming my brain. Thank you for your help. ❤
When I have days in front of the computer I try to use the restroom downstairs in our office just to get that small movement in at taking the stairs instead. Really enjoying your videos. Think this is super important, if you have more information about being energy efficient, please share. Maybe around people and in relations, both professionally and private I find that some interactions can be so draining. All the best!
wonderful Video vera, i saved it to my faves! once in a while i hab to look an this video to remind me that brakes are so important for mind and body. thank you so much. have a nice sunday 🍀💝
Thanks great advice as usual Vera I have had problems with adrenal fatigue which I think sounds very similar to letting our batteries get too low ? I have learnt to meditate and find mindfulness helps in every area of our lives as well as being aware of our emotions and energy levels, switching the tv off half an hour before bed definitely helps and I’m looking forward to the sleep video 🤗
Thanks so much Therese and thanks for sharing your wonderful tips! I also experience great benefits from mindfulness and meditation, as well as having no screens before going to bed. :) Thanks for watching and commenting, hope you're having a great week so far!!
i love your videos vera. i find it so relaxing and i learned a lot. Simple and pleasant tips that works for most of us. I try to find the same content on other youtubers but I think yours is better because of the way you speak. 😊
I used to be a carer for my late mum. I went to bed after her & was up before she was. If she needed help I had to be there. Last year I DID burn out with 5 brain Infections to boot. THAT was when my now ill mum realised I wasn't well. Sadly she died in my arms. But I WAS there for her xx
@@SimpleHappyZen I have one question. How to believe the system of being successful I mean I feel like working more rather than deep work on one single business like working on my sales calls and meetings and feel like learning facbook marketing, affiliate marketing as well and handle channel as well at a point where I am not earning to my full potential....how declutter this please share your valuable insights? Also for me success defines peace of mind earning a balanced income.
I loved the awareness of doing kind of the opposite for relaxation... And I suddenly started to realize why my Dog and horse are a shitload of time/money but keep me alive, especially in the stressfull times with the aftermath of my job. But when I think of being at my job and how much I need to nap every afternoon... I can hardly choose if it is mental or physical work since it is both... How to relax from that?
Do you watch the "Mom of Ten" channel? She and her husband had five children in Australia. Then they relocated to Finland, where she was born, and had five more. Right now they are touring Europe. (All except the oldest, who is married and on his own.) You might find it interesting. I love your channel!
This may sound weird, but can you do "dream journeys"? Your voice is so calming that it literally makes me sleep (and I've had trouble since childhood). P.S: This does not mean that your content is boring!
Thank you so much :) I do have some guided meditatio videos that you might love, also a sleep meditation. Here's the link to the playlist if you want to check it out ua-cam.com/play/PLpDAC25h6PC-mZqi_Xd6ldISOzYdefy5O.html

So glad to hear it, thank you Varsha :)
Hi Vera I love the quote "Energy flows where attention goes." Thank you for another great and inspiring video.❤
You're very welcome Cathy Lynn, so glad you liked this one!! :)
Thank you Susan and yes, fresh air is a great suggestion! I also love it and cannot work if all the windows are closed
this year i took 5 weeks off and it so happened that it was the lockdown for COVID-19 but i didn't regret it as I was able to declutter and relax with the family. then next week ill be off for a week coz it's school holidays.. it's soo hood to have mini breaks ❤️
Actually sounds quite wonderful :)
Super message, Vera ! Thank you very much for these good tips to manage and take good care of ourselves 😊
Wow thank you so much Kira, that means a lot :) Good luck on your minimalism journey!!
I love hippie dippy things! Thanks for another great video!
Haha me too! Thanks Maggie :D
I HIGHLY suggest Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport. I've found it extremely helpful with the whole mental energy issue.
Yes that's a good one :)
Good morning Vera
I look forward to all of your videos
They truly are zen for me and act as a reminder as to what is important in life
I’m afraid I am an out of control consumer
I want to be a minimalist but I am not doing it
It’s as if I can’t stop
Can you please suggest a video or some strategies to help me
Again I thank you for your sharing
Thanks for sharing Kathryn, maybe this video can help you out, about overcoming shopping 'addiction' ua-cam.com/video/qxwzALk7iOU/v-deo.html
For energy pick-ups, I like a 10-minute mediation or a multi-joint warm-up (easy exercise.) For sleep, I go to sleep easily, but I wake up way too early. Like 2 am or 4 am. My preferred time to get up is 6:30 am.
Thank you, your timing was perfect for me.
Superb channel, thanks for all the thorough research and detailed support x
Thank you so much :)
Thank you Vera, your videos arw so uplifting and useful! 👍🏻💖
Thank you so much Kristina :)
Kristina at Greenmeadow totally agree with this! 💕

5.Body scan relaxation
That's great, welcome to the channel and thanks for watching my videos :D Great tips you added as well, I especially like the wet cloth idea, I'm going to try that haha

Another helpful and inspirational video, Vera. You are definitely one of my favorite people on UA-cam.
Wow thank you so much! :)
This is so relevant Vera, for so many of us living in this chaotic world, thank you. 💕 I find that taking time to breathe or pray helps more than scrolling through social media or watching Netflix. Though I do love me some Netflix and chill at times. Great job on the beautiful video.💕💕xo
Thank you so much :D Yes I know what you mean, I love me some Netflix too hahaha
@@SimpleHappyZen 💚
So glad you liked it :) Take care and enjoy your day!
This is the first video of yours I have seen, and exactly what I needed thank you 😊

Thnak you for your tips! There's little park near my office and I'm planning taking a walk every day and see how it works for me.

I'm so glad I found your channel, it's so good to watch someone I can relate to so much who also has such a calming influence xx
Thank you so much :D I'm glad you found my channel too
Taking breaks is necessary to clear our mind, to feel more motivated and excited, to gain energy to carry on. We need to take time for ourselves and relax, we're so wrapped up in our routines that sometimes we forget to take a moment to breathe :)
Love your channel ♡♡♡
Well said Erika 🤗🌷 Good luck with your channel too!!
@@SimpleHappyZen ♡♡♡ thank you so much!
Have a beautiful day !
My tips : touching with mindfullness some leaves or plants, i feel recharged by doing this. Also with watering my plant. It just takes about 2-3 minutes.
That's a really great tip, thanks for sharing! I do that too :)
Thank you Vera!
You're very welcome Julia :) Happy weekend!
Thank you. Good tips!
Thanks Lisa :)
Love this and thank you. I so enjoy your information put out.

Thank you Vera, for such practical advice. Taxing the brain and finding remedies is so important to me. I do alot of avoidance of my feelings, harming my brain. Thank you for your help. ❤
You're very welcome Lena, take good care 🌱
I'm from Brazil, and I liked it a lot. Congratulations!
Thank you so much :)
Thank you so much Siri :)

So sorry to hear that James, my condolences and take good care
Thank you.
You're very welcome :)
Really helpful
Thank you
You're welcome! Enjoy your Saturday :)
I need vitamin B12 for energy.
Enjoyed this - thanks Vera.
Glad you enjoyed it! :) I take B12 too
Thank you so much for this amazing video ❤
You're very welcome Sikha :)
Very helpful. Thank you!
You're so welcome Sue!!!🤗
Do you watch the "Mom of Ten" channel?
She and her husband had five children in Australia.
Then they relocated to Finland, where she was born, and had five more.
Right now they are touring Europe. (All except the oldest, who is married and on his own.)
You might find it interesting.
I love your channel!
Thanks for sharing Marge!! :)

Excellent video
Hahaha you're welcome 😄
This may sound weird, but can you do "dream journeys"? Your voice is so calming that it literally makes me sleep (and I've had trouble since childhood). P.S: This does not mean that your content is boring!
