      I’ve had for mine for 5 years… not one malfunction at all. For years I’ve carried Glock 19. Now I have the Glock 45, good weapon, but my Canik ( in my opinion) is still better. Not to mention I am Glock armorer certified.

    Damn I'm excited. I've been a Canik fan since Gen1. I have owned every model and have several thousand rounds through every model with never an issue that wasn't my fault. I currently run a Canik tp9sf for local tactical 3-gun matches and never feel outgunned. My SF has about 2200rds through it at this point with no stoppages and the only issue being the slide not locking back occasionally, but that's due to my grip profile causing my thumbs to block the slide lock. Excellent review Sootch.

      I love mine. It has the olive green colored slide. I placed an online bid on it even though I didn't care for the color at the time, and they took me seriously! Since then it has grown on me and it is one of my favorite shooters.

    • @protectiverailroaddad7541
      @protectiverailroaddad7541 8 років тому

      Jake M how was the ppq not a competitor for the glock 19. Ppq still has the best trigger

    • @jake45790
      @jake45790 8 років тому +11

      Jeremy Jones the ppq is a very good competitor to the glock 19 but the ppq is taller vertically and longer horizontally than the glock 19. This canik is closer in dimensions and price to the glock 19. Plus this canik has a sick trigger as well and has better stock sights for $400 freaking dollars! So it does everything the ppq/glock can plus more for cheaper.

    • @protectiverailroaddad7541
      @protectiverailroaddad7541 8 років тому +4

      Jake M yeah you got a point because the ppq is a tad bit thicker as well. Ppq still has the cleanest trigger break and shortest reset from what I hear. But the value of the tp9sf elite is off the charts. Quite possibly the best value in semi auto 9mm's right now. I can't wait to shoot one to see how it stacks up to my ppq

    • @jake45790
      @jake45790 8 років тому +5

      Jeremy Jones I couldn't agree more! I would definitely like to see how the ppq stacks up to this awesome firearm. You are absolutely right about this pistol being the highest quality/features for your buck. This gun for its price very well might skyrocket canik to or above the popularity of glocks, walthers, smith & wessons and springfields. This pistol is just a homerun if it can maintain reliability over the years and in adverse conditions. I hope the military arms channel will put it through thier reliability test soon. (I'm sure they most definitely will. haha)

    I am now a huge proponent of Canik because of Yankee Marshall. I own one already and soon will have 2. They are damn fine pistols and are reasonably priced. My son has one with over 1200 rounds through it. Neither my son's Canik nor mine has had so much as a hiccup.

    Great video. Canik makes a very well made & shooting guns. I own 3 TP9SFX (yes 3). I use them for competition, I also own the TP9SF another great shooter. Right out of the box, these gun just run. I've fed just about every type of ammo they them, my only problem was Winchester white box. It hits the feed ramp & stops, I've had to re-rack the slide. So No more Winchester. These guns are accurate, the triggers are exceptional. I like these triggers better than on my PPQ. All the extras that it comes with, you can'tbeat it. The Elite is an excellent CCW for EDC. With 15 rounds, it's even better. If you need more than 15 to stop your assailant, you should not be carrying. Buy these while you can. Once others know about them, the price will probably increase.

    Just picked up one of these amazing firearms and had my first trip to the range. Zero issues. Was looking for a G19 but went this route instead. My Dad was at the range with me and his G19. He was very impressed with the Canik sights and trigger and shot the Canik better. We both still like Glock, but anyone on the fence on this firearm, do it. You won't be sorry. I bought a g19 gen 5 at the first of this year and carried it for a while. I didn't like the blocky feeling of it, I upgraded the sights to the ameriglo night sights and had a new trigger installed. It was ok after all of that but I just wasn't happy with it so I sold it and carried my Taurus g2c. Yesterday was my birthday and my son and I were in our local gun shop and he saw me looking at this very gun. He's kind of a gun snob so I thought he would give me crap about me even looking at it. He asked me if I liked it and I said yeah it seems like a solid gun, so he told the gun shop owner he wanted it. I was like dang boy how many pistols do you need?..lol He said it's not for me dad it's for you, happy birthday. I am stoked. I haven't shot it yet but I will this coming weekend.

    My how this gun has changed. I just picked one of these up, 2 days ago. It now comes optics ready, and the front rail, for lighting, is only 2 slots instead of 3, now.
    And the sights... the front is no longer fiber optic. It's now a white, phosphoric paint. It'll glow in the dark, if given enough light to charge it.
    It still comes with all the other features and accessories, though... and they added a mounting plate for adding a red dot, if you want to go that route.
    Note: Because of the loaded chamber indicator, it will only accommodate a micro red dot.
    It's a fantastic pistol, in my humble opinion!

    The “paddle” on a SF Elite-S is not a mag release. It is in fact a trigger block safety added to meet a mil spec contract. I use the elite-s because I prefer abdomen carry for concealed carry. The trigger block gives me extra piece of mind. For those who don’t like it you can disengage it an entirely ignore it’s existence without otherwise effecting the weapon.

    Just for clarification for some readers, the triggerguard paddles referenced in this video (approx. 5:50) are an optional trigger block "safety" which prevent the trigger from being pulled rearward; these paddles are not to be confused with the Walther-type which drop the magazine(s).

Fyi I have about 12.000 rounds through one and around 8000 the other.I have not had one problem with either. So what can you say about a pistol that looks good is 100 percent reliable and has the most amazing trigger of all my stock guns. Like I said I own many brands of guns. Guess which ones have needed to go back to the factory for repair. I will save you the trouble two sigs one Glock one Kahr and a Smith& Wesson. So please explain what makes your choices better in every aspect! Let me end with that there are tons of great guns with amazing track records and the ones you mentioned make many fine guns as well.

      @@barefootbob1269 calm down man, Samuel is right though, with my CZ Shadow 2 I can shoot way more accurate just from the size weight and recoil control. I do however own different kinds of "budget" firearms too, like my Kel-Tec firearms, and Glocks. I don't think there is such thing as a best or perfect firearm, firearms are very subjective when it comes to comfortability with the platform, training, and ergonomics.

    Sootch, I know this video is a little older now, so information may not have been as readily available at the time of this video...but I wanted to clear up that the TP9 SF Elite-S does have the paddle around the trigger guard, but it moves upwards to act as a trigger safety, not moving downward as a mag release. I just held one the other day. It still has your typical mag release button. With that paddle safety in the upward position, it prevents the trigger from being able to move rearward; something I heard was a request for either the military or police in the region. Keep up the great work!

    Consistently like your reviews, very thorough. Bought a TP9SFL for competition and falling more in love with it every time I shoot it. Only mistake I saw in the video is that the trigger guard lever on the elite-s is not a paddle style mag release but an additional trigger safety that swings up to block the trigger from being pulled.

      First I have heard of any problems with Canik pistols. All too often we "hear" of problems with guns that get blown well out of proportion on the internet. Not saying you are doing this however, please provide links to videos or pictures.

      So I did a cursory search and other than weak ejection I haven't seen any issues. Weak ejection in and of itself is not an problem. Use NATO spec ammo and should be fine.
      Honestly I was expecting substantial problems (stovepipe due to weak ejection, cracked frames, poor QC, etc.). I can easily see guys complaining about the ejection being too strong! Individuals have done this on other platforms...the H&K 91, and its clones come to mind.

  • @2amichaelj
    @2amichaelj 6 років тому +1

    I love this pistol, especially for an entry level price. This is the first pistol I really learned how to shoot pistols with and out of the box, I needed no modifications. The trigger is great. The fiber optic sights are easy to see and take down and reassembly are super easy.
    I would suggest this over a Glock or M and P for first time pistol owners. Both fore mentioned are great firearms but I needed modifications and put an extra $100 or more into both Glocks and SW M and Ps to get the features needed to my liking where the Canik out of the box was excellent.
    The Turkish government sucks but they know how to make excellent pistols for a great price. Another example of this is the Sarailmaz SR38 revolver. Decent quality 357 revolver for under $400. I wish other gun manufacturers could give us this quality and features for the $400 price point these guns give us. I usually have to pay $700+ to get everything out of handguns like the last 2 I mentioned.

    Two things to take note of. Many websites have the TP9SF Elite and Elite S listed as double action single action, when in fact they are single action only. The paddles that sootch00 mentions are not mag release paddles but are a trigger safety lock. They are only available on the Elite S.

      Devildog Their loss, of you ask me. The TP9SF is the cheapest handgun I own, and I shoot it better than any handgun I've ever shot. Only time will tell how it holds up, but so far I'm impressed with the gun. My only complaints with the SF is the cheap finish, and like this model, it's a bit bulky, but where can you get a good shooter, with decent range holster for $350.

    It's certainly a badass looking pistol. As for being a import, so what. There's firearms made domestically that are junk... I'd rather have the quality whether it's from here or somewhere else. Beside, like stated, Americans are still making money off of it. Oh, as for the politics of Turkey, it's not like the US hasn't been instrumental in the rise of unfriendly foreign political groups... just saying.

      Anlamak için tarihlerine bakmak lazım zaten onların istilacı ve aslında avrupada istenmeyen yada tutunamayan bir kesimden geldiğinin farkında olmak lazım aslında geldikleri yer takdire şayan.
      Biz gelemeyiz daha iyilerine çünkü herzaman bi engelleme herzaman zorluk var bizim ülkemizde insanlar birşey icat ettiklerinde yada geliştirdiklerinde o işi yürütecek yollar yok yatırım yok vergiler çok izinler patentler zor .. Olmaz o yüzden ben beklemiyorum , olacaksada ancak işte videodaki örnek gibi devlet eliyle olur oda bizim işimize yaramaz zaten.. Canik üzerinde konuşuyoruz ya bu silaha sahip olmak ve taşıma belgesi alarak beline koymak ülkemizde Amerikaya göre çok daha pahalıya mal oluyor. Oranın vatandaşı kolaylıkla alıp kullanırken biz alamıyoruz misal. Yada otomative bakalım al sana bi örnek www.seat.com.tr/yeniseat_files/28112016_ibizaFiyat.pdf
      1.4 tdi dsg orj fiyatı 39.843 anahtar teslim 69.200
      1.8 tsi düz fiyatı 40.208 anahtar teslim 96.300 yani arasında 350 tl olan iki aracın anahtar teslim farkı - -27.100 tl ? ve 1 alırken 1 tane devlete o kadar parasını verip üzerine kdv ödüyoruz . ama bitmedi her 6 ayda bir vergi diye dünyanın hiçbiyerinde duyulmamış bi vergi var.
      O yüzden amerikalı herşeyi alırda binerde kullanırda ... bizim ülkemizde askeri maaş yada biraz üstünü alanda hiçbirşey yapamaz anca salyaları akar.. Yılda trilyonları kazananlarsa bi ilkokul yapar 10 sene vergi vermez. Devlet zenginden alamadığı vergiyi işçi maaşından benzinden sigaradan alkolden almaya çalışır.. O yüzden bekleme bizden bişi olmaz ...
