Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 If you watch the scene where Su breaks tiles at 04:05 in your video very carefully in slow-motion mode, you will find she does it not with karate chop style but with fox sign 😄 . (I did not discover it, other observant fan did.)
Nice reaction :) You said you wanted to get in to some older BabyMetal? I urge you to check out Headbanger from the Legend of 97 concert. '97 was the year Su was born and the performance was done the day after her 16th birthday. Guaranteed to blow your socks off! Have fun :)
I missed this when you posted it a couple of days ago. Welcome back, great reaction. 🦊 'Karate' was the lead single for their second album released 2016. They do this same choreo for 'Karate' in live shows that they did for the MV (check out the Sonisphere 2016 performance - outdoors in the English rain to see that or the live at Budokan 2021 to see how one of their big arena shows in Japan with all the lighting and special effects looks). 'Karate' is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this as it is a Japanese martial art and reflects their culture (they hoped people would take an interest in that too) - and like the song it is also about always moving forwards. In this case the video shows very well what the song is about through the visuals as well. The figures in white were the girls all along and they were conjuring up their own inner demons to fight against. They beat the first, the second knocked them down but they got up to eventually defeat themselves (did you notice the reflections of each of the girls in their own eyes when the masks shattered and it was revealed as them? Not many people spot that). They did watch a lot of martial arts movies to get ideas for the choreo as they wanted it to look as authentic as possible. I've been to Australia - you're not lying about the flies! Moa catching the fly was a nod to Mr Miyagi in The Karate Kid. Mr Miyagi may have used chop sticks (and it may have taken him two or three films before he caught one), Moa caught her fly with her eyes closed - first time ... and of course she didn't kill it, Moa is known as the Angel of Love for a reason and she wouldn't hurt a fly. This song and video won 2 awards. "Best Metal Video in MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2016" and "Best Metal Song in 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards".
The song isnt just karate and metal. It's about overcoming obstacles. And if you get knocked down, you have to get back up. I think the best part of this video is after the reveal they show the close ups and you can see the refelction of themselves in the eyes. Sometimes you are your own biggest obstacle. if you want to go back in time, hop in your mint flavored time machine and check out the m/v for Doki Doki Morning. their first song.
almost 10 years have passed and this video and this song remain timeless... BABYMETAL's masterpiece... Suzuka's voice is at its best, magnificent choreography and the message is clear: help those who fell to get up 🍅🦊🦊
Great reaction, and a great Mv Rich, but Babymetal is meant to be viewed live! Suggestions: *Akatsuki (Budokan 2014):* Imagine if you combined Monochrome (1st Take)’s vocals with power metal. *Monochrome (Live, Babymetal Begind Clear Night - Pia Arena MM, 2023):* The way more epic full version of the 1st take performance you reacted to. *Headbanger (Legend 1997):* Dec 2013 show celebrating lead Su-metal’s 16th birthday, and a quintessential Babyemetal classic. *Metali (Official, Live):* They literally just released this yesterday lol, just awesome. Features Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine. 🤘🦊
A great reaction with great enthusiasm. Try some more of their live shows. "Gimmie Chocolate" was an early live performance and you saw how that exploded. Love to see you react to Live "Headbanger" it is fire through and through. Nice work. You Aussies seem to get Babymetal.
Check out this song Live at Budokan 2021, absolutely amazing to hear!
It's been 7 years already??? Jeez, I'm old. Looking forward to more reactions on babymetal. Always found their music fun and uplifting.
Richo you HAVE to check out the live version of this. It’s another level 👍

@@silenttoxic707 Years ago the other girls said that they were in contact with her and that she was ok.
That last yell always gives me chills

BabyMetal is best live, but this music video is an exception

Idk if youve reacted to their song " Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live" but its a must see! SUPER HEAVY, epic intro 🔥.
Very impressed at the speed with which you managed to regrow that magnificent mo! That's, like, 2 years growth for me.👨
_Ossu!_ 🦊🤘🥋
There older stuff is the best
you cant fight it Richo.... hahahah this shits good haha
hueta
Don’t do music videos. Do live Babymetal.
This and Megitsune are the only MV worth. Perhaps Doki Doki Morning, too.
