Hey Kern, what about port fuel injection vs port meth injection? Let's say hypothetically, ethanol is unavailable, 91oct, stock HPFP. What's the best route for big power to a kit similar to yours from doc? Lets say, 800whp.
If you don't have ethanol available then port fuel injection won't provide any gains. Port meth is your answer. Check out my last video about upgrading fuel pump vs port for more info
@@kern417 that's what I was unclear about still was if throwing more fuel at a system would even produce gains without any proper octane/cooling. So I assume an upgraded hpfp and port meth would be the best combo if no E is available. Thank you!
Hey thanks for the vid you seem very knowledgeable for all this stuff I have a question , I have a 15 M6 built S63tu CP Carrillo pistons and rods , Dynod on Mustang Dyno @ 869hp 986tq I have Meth injection , through JB4 , 3 custom backend flash tunes for Meth , injected towards the end of the charge coolers right before the throttle bodies, Map 0 safe map with Meth, run out of Meth it’s ok with just 93 670whp Daily Map 7 Boost by Meth 28lbs boost Meth flowing ok , Run out of Meth drops back to map 0 for safety 750whp Map 8 is 28psi with advanced timing boost by Octane with Meth , I put some Boostane in fuel for this map to about 103 octane / Run out of Meth drops to map 0 830+ whp So A few weeks ago I was on Map 0 safe map , I did a 3rd to 4th gear pull , Right after I shifted to 4th I heard a loud pop under the hood , I also thought I hit something😟, I then thought I blew a coupler off , it turns out I split my driver side intake Manifold via smoke test , Logs say 19psi when popped, so it shouldn’t be from boost , maybe Methanol backfire?? , can you give me your thoughts on this ? It sucks because it’s an engine out job, Thanks 🙏
It still could have been from boost just from the manifold weakening over time. The b58 manifolds are also known to crack under a lot of boost pressure. It's one of the downsides of plastic.

Port injection is the location. You can Port inject any kind of fuel by any means. You can Port inject gasoline using a Bosch injector for example. Or you can Port inject methanol using a mist nozzle. Like prometh Charge pipe meth is injecting meth into the charge pipe.

Technically the cylinders that get less methanol will also get less air, meaning they would of been running rich without methanol. Therefore running methanol at a single point would help AFRs balance out better. on 2JZ platform cylinder 5 and 6 always runs leaner due to majority of air hitting those cylinders. Adding methanol injection actually helps the issue as most of the meth is now consumed by cylinders 5 and 6.
Is there such a thing as a “high quality” port injection controller? If your controller dies, or an internal driver dies, or a cheap injector dies - you melt a cylinder down. Leaning out a cylinder happens so fast you won’t have time to even lift off the throttle. If you shift your focus to the Direct Injection system, there are huge benefits across the board. Better fuel atomization, perfect fuel distribution leaps above port injection, and mainly the benefit of using very high quality engineered and tested components designed for high mileage usage. There is a point port injection is your only option, but that HP level is continually being pushed back as better hpfp and injector options become available. Why would someone consider a Chinese port injection system at power levels that are easily fed by Direct injection system upgrades?

Hey man, I've just received my Williams port meth injection kit. One thing you mention that I'm not sure of is spraying e85 through the meth kit. Can you spray e through nozzles meant for meth? I always thought e was a heavier fluid that wouldn't spray, or at least wouldn't spray enough volume through meth nozzles?
@@kern417 but can you alternate between meth and E on the same set of nozzles? Running meth all week, then throwing a tank of E in for the weekend kind of thing? Switching out nozzles is no small feat in these cars.
@@kern417 it’ll run it but the petrol content will kill the valves in the pumps, over time they will swell and fail, it’s noted in various instruction manuals from snow performance, Devilsown, coolingmist etc
You can run just water in your Water meth injection system, and have all the octane you need, since you're not fuel limited on the hpfp side. Quite simple really, no need for meth

I’m mean running E85 might be a little dangerous through a Meth system incase of a leak
50/50 just dilutes the mix so it's less flammable. It's really up to you and your comfort level.

Would you recommend using CPI just for cooling not octane it’s clear using for it for octane is not gonna end well for cyl 5,6
The safest way to use it for cooling only is to spray water so that it does not affect your fuel trims

After seeing the other YT guy blow his #6 using CPI I’m way paranoid about doing that route.
Highly highly highly not recommended. He was doing okay but when he pushed the limits is when it blew.

Port injected meth will always be the safest option. Then a custom tune for it.

You can spray whatever you want. If you need more flow then use larger nozzles.
