I still have the first version for more than 1.5 years. It is a great e-scooter for my 5 mile commute and survives downpours. Just a note, I don't use the trolley wheels as a luggage but rather something to help me slide it under my desk at work.
When I bought mine, I couldn't find the 13amp version on the product page, but an assistant (I think contactable on the page) was able to give me the link. So if you only see the 10amp version, contact the assistant. 2x heavier than my 20lb inexpensive scoot, so I don't use it for neighborhood errands. It is great to ride around on though. Feels like a motorcycle. A great intermediate 2nd scooter after you've maxed out the speed and range on your first entry level one.
The zero 8 / 9 platform, which this uses is great. Parts are very easy to buy and straightforward to replace. I've replaced the handlebars, front fork, battery and a few tires on my zero 9 and it still rides great. I wish they added waterproofing, because then, it would be almost perfect
Great video! This or the NIU Kqi3 Max? Range and top speed are similar enough. The extra portability looks like a big pro on this, but the Kqi3 Max has excellent build quality and stability. Any recommendations here? Currently have a Kqi3 Max, but it doesn't fit in my trunk, so I have to put it in my backseat. It's doable, but not ideal, so trying to see if maybe the horizon could be worth getting.
The Horizon definitely has the edge on portability! I wish the KQi3 handlebars were just a little more narrow. The wide bars are nice when you're riding, but tough in the trunk. Either are great scooters. I'd say the Horizon's weakest area is just having one brake on the rear, where the KQi3 Pro and MAX brakes are on the other end of the spectrum, where you need to be careful to not over do it on the brakes because they're so strong. It's really hard to go wrong with either scooter though. -Paul
I have the similar but quite different Apollo Light '21. It has the air tire at the back with the 48 volt battery, and fork suspension. It's quite an underrated scooter but I love it, almost 1000 miles on mine. Top speed is also about 28mph like the mosquito, which I couldn't believe. I love my scooter, won't upgrade for a while!
Far and fast for the least amount of cash! Yes, and simple and gets the job done. 800 miles on mine so I got my money's worth. Good to see a kickplate on the back now.
Thanks Paul for the video! Horizon is a very solid scooter. I had the Speedway scooter that basically matches the Horizon and enjoyed that scooter. I still would rather have the E-Twow GT and Fluid Mosquito (have both) since they are hyper portable and faster. I also don't think anything is as durable as that E-Twow design and I have a very large sample set to back it up. I also don't think the ride is anywhere as bad as everyone seems to think. On a side note I ended up picking up another Inokim Light 2 scooter for the wife for $699 which is amazing for that scooter. My wife misses the Inokim Light 2 that was stolen last year from her and I figure she can mix up her riding with the two best ultra portables out there.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Cool! I don't have any more power scooters. I love electric unicycles too much these days. However, an ultra portable scooter has so many great use cases to ever be without one. Keep up the great work!

We'll be updating our old video "Top 5 Scooters for Rain" soon. We haven't judged the nominees yet though, so I can't say which is the best thing going right now for rain. I'd look for high IP rating, air filled tires, rear wheel drive or dual motor with traction control (we have some traction control testing to do next time it rains!). We also like grip tape over rubber decks in the rain, but it's more of a tie breaker than a must-have. -Paul
"While we did not invest in an IP rating for the Horizon, it is the scooter from our portfolio that has the least problems with water damage. The display is IP66 rated. The two fenders do an excellent job in keeping the water down. And the deck openings are protected with silicone. My V2 Horizon gets up to 23 - 24 mph no problem on flat surfaces. I'm a 165 rider as well. Just asking how you guys got different top speeds of two of the same scooter? Thank you! :D

Same size, but the other variant is lighter. We tested the heavier variant. If you follow the link in the video description I think it will have the weight for both. -Paul

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Heard of some concerning issues with the Max G2 (ghost acceleration and braking along with overheating) and I like the design and portability of the horizon .

5:59 sorry for the confusion and thank you for tour reply, but I was asking about these small additional wheels used for transportation when scooter is folded, cant find then(
Such a dangerous scooter design! There is absolutely no reason to make the front wheel disengage while the handle bar is folded! I had a manufacturer defect on another model that caused it to fold on me in the street throwing the deck into the asphalt. Such a scary experience. I’ll keep all my wheels on the ground no matter what in the future.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Testing doesn’t account for the manufacturer defect that caused my issue. You never know when something will fail for any reason… I just suggest a scooter that will never lift the front wheel. It’s a silly design flaw.
A good thing since the fenders are not long or wide enough. The underside of the deck is quite wet as will be the back of your legs and some drops on your back.
