I would definitely choose Augusta 100%. You'd love the beauty and quiet serenity of the area. I have a boat and Augusta is full of great places to fish. The Ideal retirement location would be a place where boating is very popular. You two are so lovely. I just hearing you perspectives on all of these videos. The chemistry and unique personalities between you really comes through in your conversations. Gay is so funny and charming and Sophie seems very studious friendly. And you both seem so comfortable in front of the camera. Love you both...♣
Knoxville is pretty safe, that’s the Sunsphere, it was built for the 1982 World’s Fair. I like Knoxville, but winters are horrible. It’s cold enough to piss you off, but not cold enough for snow. All the vegetation and leaves fall off the trees so everything looks barren, plus the sky is gray pretty much everyday. However April-November it’s an awesome place to live.
The gold ball you paused on in Knoxville is the Sunsphere, it was built for the 1982 World's Fair. It was featured in an episode of The Simpsons as being run down, but they've renovated and reopened it giving you 360 views of the city and mountains
Vermont has plenty of bars and breweries and also has Lake Champlain! Win-win for Daz and Gaynor. I've been to Vermont in the Autumn and it is what I picture heaven probably looks like.
I live in the Fayetteville Arkansas area actually Elm Springs there's about 5 towns are so close it's like a city Springdale and Fayetteville with the population of 90,000 each the best restaurants are in Fayetteville and Rogers
God's microphone aka Reunion Tower in Dallas was in your reaction to the 25 best skyscrapers in North America. The "microphone" building in Knoxville is the Sunsphere, a part of the 1982 World's Fair held that year in Knoxville.
This made me laugh, my gf wants to move to a small town away from a big city, me on the other hand am a city guy, we went on a vac. a year ago to Vermont, she fell in love with the little towns and villages, she dragged me to all the little knickknack shops, and independent shops and coffee shops, she is very much a kindred spirit of Sophie and Gaynor
Well there are plenty of places like that in NY, all around the Finger Lakes Region is perfect for the Gaynor/Daz retirement. Seneca Falls would probably be your favorite, the village that Bedford Falls is based off of. I have been to Morgantown, WV it's a little too crowded for my taste. Too many college students.
Resident of Green Bay. The winters can be really rough, but summer is amazing and it's a great city! Daz would love the amount of taverns we have and beer consumed 😂. If you really enjoy cheese, america's dairyland has the best this side of the pond, not even up for debate.
Unless you particularly want lots of trees and the occsional major tornado 🌪️, consider the beauty of the desert SW part of the US. That would be west Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah. There are things out there you won't see anywhere else. No tornados, hurricanes, no tsunamis, rarely floods, no volcanoes, etc. There are lots of trees snd forest still. The summer can be hot but not so much if your not in a major city. Sedona, Arizona is a beautiful place as is Tempe, Arizona. The list is long for good places to live at very reasonable prices. Las Vegas is nearby. Southern California is a short drive. The SW has those cowboy and western vibes. More tourist spots and campgrounds than you can count. There are rivers, lakes, boating, fishing, mucho beer pubs, friendly folks, every tiwn has arr, museums, about anything you can think about. Great college football like the older man loves too and professional sports.
In the old days, about 30 years ago, before it became generic and commercialized, my dream was to retire and live on Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Now I think I'll go to the Carribean, or to Bali.
Yeah it's very cheap to film in Canada compared to the US, so they'll typically shoot in the eastern part of Canada to get a midwest feel and if they want something decently close looking to California or any west coast state they'll shoot in vancouver except it's quite easy to tell it's not California
NWA born and raised. That's Northwest Arkansas. Fayetteville is a little too crowded with drunk college kids year-round, but yeah living in one of the other smaller towns in NWA is nice. I live in one of the towns around Fayetteville he listed off. The entire NWA area is mostly nice and there's lots of stuff to do, especially if you like nature. It's in the Ozark Plateau region so it's kinda hilly but only in certain places. I may live here til I die, remains to be seen. Only other place I'd consider staying long term is Florida.
LADIES!! Watching the video, you get onto Knoxville TN; the narrator mentions Memphis sucks and is dangerous, Nashville has an obsession with mustaches, the Sophie mentions wonders which city is dangerous, did they see it before, yada yada....all you had to do is rewind a bit to hear what the guy said, lol. Unless I took it wrong, them mea culpa! I think any of the videos this guy does, need to be inclusive. In some of these places, not 'every' retiree would be welcome! I know that Wyoming as a whole isn't kind to blacks, other peoples that aren't white, and certainly not to the NATIVE Americans. My brother (black man from Chicago) that moved to Sheridan with a girlfriend, and they traveled around the state. Residents there would NOT hesitate to call a non-white person very inappropriate names. Wisconsin is another place....outside of Milwaukee, people of color will not feel welcome. Even those that are considered 'white' but come from a nationality where dark skin COULD be possible. My husband's brother (they are Italian) and his wife who is of (Southern?) Finnish (which ever is considered the darker of the Finn people), and is 1/4 Native American from the Potawatomie tribe in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. They have lived and worked near Green Bay, in Fon du Lac for years; in their community, majority avoids them because they don't 'look' white, and these are two extremely friendly people! They have lived in several locations in Wisconsin, and whenever we have visited, we were told to just keep an eye out for that (I'm black with an Italian husband). I've seen, it is no joke!
This is probably the worst list. He has a few good states but usually the wrong town. Not sure how he looked at the state but would miss the better more interesting town to live. I think he was following a list or lists that others put together.
PLEASE READ!!!!Nashville Tennessee used to be a nice city and that’s where Elvis‘s house and grave is now we’re Lisa Marie Presley is Mary next to her father but that is also where that mass shooting just happened a few weeks and that private school where the trans girl killed three teachers and three 9 year-olds! The school mass shootings in this country are just insane and the amount of guns that we have are so bad when there’s more guns than people that’s not good! The shooting in Uvalde, Texas, where the police didn’t do anything while kids were being slaughtered, where they didn’t even know which kid was who and they had to use their shoes to identify their own child because the killer used an A.R. 15 and killed 21 people! It be nice if all those air 15s and ammunition would be sent to Ukraine to finish off those Russians that want to kill innocent people and rape, women and children! This is a messed up world, and Trump really messed up our country!
I wouldn't take this guy's advice, too many negative adjectives, nasty, and boring when describing many places in The USA. I think he sounds like someone who hates the USA. I say find some who is neutral
Phoenix area is known for affordable and ease of living. Way more affordable than California and New York while also having no serious weather conditions like storms, earthquakes, tornadoes, flooding, ice etc.. Vast majority of buildings were built within the past 100 years. A home built in the 60s is considered very old in Phoenix. It is a very modernized city all around. ALOT of canadians move out there for the winter and to retire.
The World According to Briggs is the worst. He always has incorrect information and the pictures he includes are always not the correct thing or place he is showing. He said Cheyenne, Wyoming has a population of 583,000 people. The state of Wyoming has a population of 583,000 people. Cheyenne has a population of 65,000 people. With the exception of Columbus, OH, none of these places are a place you want to retire to or live period.
Thumb Up #210! 👍 You're welcome! Thanks! 😊 Notes: Retirement in a place that you've never been has baffled in unless you're trying to escape from a slum or war zone. My father was born in 1940. The hospital that he was born in no longer exists! The building is lawer offices now, so he won't be getting hospice care there! But at least he is in the city that he was born in! I would have to return to Seoul, and my brother would have to return to Honolulu if we wanted to be like our father and retire and die where we were born!
Mark 17:35. Hey! I saw you react to that one! Ugh! Back then, I thought that he said, "Dodge Microphone" despite I t not being in Detroit! But I guess now that he actually said, "God's Microphone"! 😁 But the real name is... en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Reunion_Tower&action=edit§ion=0
The brown river has to do with soil silt, not polution.
Seems like common sense you’d think haha
8:00 the river is brown from the sediments that run from upstream, mostly.
10:57 a small error from the video: the total state population is (now) 578K, the population of Cheyenne is 65K.
I would definitely choose Augusta 100%. You'd love the beauty and quiet serenity of the area. I have a boat and Augusta is full of great places to fish.

I agree with you but I would probably go just down to road to Aiken, SC. Hiking in the woods or walking the Alley in the evening. My dream place.
Fayetteville beautiful Ozarks

Vermont has plenty of bars and breweries and also has Lake Champlain! Win-win for Daz and Gaynor. I've been to Vermont in the Autumn and it is what I picture heaven probably looks like.

He failed to mention Knoxville is home to the giant University of Tennessee, with it's 100,000 seat stadium.
Morgantown, WV was actually tge subject of a city-wide Paranormal Investigation several years ago, and made a TV series about it.
Hey Gayla! I’m in Massachusetts and have the same plan to retire to Vermont, it’s so lovely there
The Fayetteville area, or northwest Arkansas in general, is really nice.
I love when only you 2 react
I grew up in a small, close-knit town in rural Pennsylvania. Most people are super friendly, but the winters are rough.
Fayetteville, Arkansas is really nice to live. I lived there for four years. It's a big retirement town.
You'll be happier in the country bro. Plus, you'll save a ton of money
I live in the country and personally love it. We aren’t like far from other people either really.
Thanks, that was a lot of fun.
In defense of Columbus, the river isn't always brown, it's brown after rain
The best part in the movie the holiday was the hot brother! 😂
Mark 9:56. The State Capital Building!
Cold Spring, New York. It's on the Hudson River with a commuter train to NYC.
You're confusing the Sunsphere tower in Knoxville with "God's Microphone" in Dallas that you saw in the top skylines video.
When talking about Fayetteville, Arkansas he failed to mention that nearby Bentonville is where the headquarters of Walmart is located.
Try to get out of Columbus after attending an all-day Friday seminar on an Ohio State home football weekend. Not pleasant lol.
fayetteville is really nice, its so alive and feels like a little city :)
Sometimes you get what you pay for but in this case these choices are either good or at least safe.
Cheyenne isn’t too far from Denver either, Wyoming is great

yep! was just about to inform them and the city with the microphone is Dallas TX
The Packers are the last small-city franchise left in the NFL; they joined the league in the NFL's second season.
Small towns / cities where everybody knows everybody is very common in the US. It’s just community.
Things have changed a lot since 2019, the information in the video is out of date as far as the cost of living.

I'm from Tennessee and always found Knoxville to be dull as dirt. Even to look at is boring.
And you can pan for diamond's.

The only warm-weather city on this list is Augusta.
Can't say I would recommend anyone move to Fort Wayne or really any town in Indiana lol by far the worst state I've ever lived in.
Look at Greenwich CT cheap safe beautiful and really cheap.

@@deanbianco4982 Nothing funny about houses for the typical average working class family. A real steak and potatoes type of blue collar town.
