Watching this for the first time as a kid, I had no idea who Charlton Heston was. All I knew was that Joe Flaherty's neck-grabbing performance was hilarious. It became even more hilarious when I actually saw Charlton Heston for the first time.
That was hysterical...love the interaction between Eugene Levy and John Candy...RIP guys...Joe Flaherty too
This is a beautiful copy of this. Man, Joe Flaherty's interpretation of Charlton Heston just kills me! I was dragged to every damn Heston movie by an obsessed boyfriend, and was steeped in his overblown acting style. The first time Flaherty rubbed his neck grimacing, I howled! These guys are incomparable pros.
@@Susie_Floozie yup. He nailed it!
@@johnunkerman He sure did. R.I.P., Joe. 🌟
This is so stupidly funny!I never realized the genius of Eugene Levy until I started watching these old SCTV clips! Multiple chracters! All extremely silly!
@@jimmyguitar2933 YES! 👍
3:28 🤣🤣🤣the band!
Just a shout out to the dude who designed the amazing costumes for SCTV, Juul Haalmeyer. As a young guy in the advertising business he was my first freelance client way back in 1979
@@jamesstuart3346 yes, considering the budget, the costumes were amazing. Great work!
I remember the BiWay and Consumer's Distributing stores 😂
I wonder if the real Chuck Heston ever saw Joe Flaherty's impersonation of him on SCTV? Having done SNL, spoofing his PLANET OF THE APES role, he wasn't above having a bit of fun at his own expense.
Haha!! The firemen go to Burger King.....they love charbroiled 😂😂😂
@@Ithinkiwill66 hilarious 👍 🔥 🤣
This is our last chance for love,
It was very, very funny in its time, and parts of this episode still are, but I can't help thinking of the World Trade Center . . . yikes
I don’t remember 1980s disaster movies that well, but I hope they weren’t so pathetically idiotic as this parody makes them out to be. But I think they were.
@@big566bunny actually they were 🤣 - check out classics like: Earthquake, The Poseidon Adventure, Airport 75, and of course The Towering Inferno!
