I've always thought the 1960 _Ocean's 11_ is a dull self-indulgent slog of a film; basically the Rat Pack's expensive and glossy home movie. SCTV gave it what it deserved.
'On the Waterfront...Again' was a great remake. Bittman and Lola 'I wanna bare all your children ' Heatherton. Top notch casting and direction. Sorry Brando....
You know, and I think that I can speak for everyone, the Massage Scene was great and I really mean that. What made the whole thing spectacular was having Skip Bitman popping his Zingers. The Plan is Perfect !!
I miss SCTV. Glad this popped up on my feed! Watching with modern eyes, this looks, somehow, like it had a higher budget compared to the usual movie parody skits. So many extras! Fairly elaborate sets. It might not be as tight as ‘Ben Him’ but it’s solid. I wish we could still have … well, everything from the prime SCTV years. But time passes.
Count Floyds Monster Chiller Horror Theater "Awhooooo.I love that character always makes me laugh.I also love the Mckenzi Brothers skits. I'm from the south but found a channel that carried SCTV way back. Take off to the Great White North 😊 Just watching this brings back so many great memories.
The scene starting at 12:43 with Bobby Bitman singing and dancing in the Beatnik cafe is pure brilliance. Eugene Levy was a triple threat...singing, dancing, and acting! This whole SCTV movie spoof is sheer brilliance! Skip Bitman with his Kruschev joke at Disneyland with Porky Pig...pure writing gold! LOL!
I recognize some of the places they shot this - Sammy's place was on Eglinton Avenue East near Kennedy Road in Scarborough, ON Canada and then I see they shot near the old Golden Mile Plaza in West Scarborough. Lived out that way for many years and these places and this show bring back lots of memories....
Too young to have seen this in the late 70s AND growing up in Europe, I never knew of SCTV before the days of UA-cam. But, man!, now I know where all these great guys come from, the guys I saw in the great cinematic comedys like Ghostbusters, Uncle Buck and so on. Legends!
America in the late 70s was a great place for comedy. I was in high school and never missed one minute of SCTV, SNL or Monty Python. It would be interesting to put together a family tree of all of the movies and TV shows that came from those three sources.
Very well done, the same way that hacks like Fernando Montalbalm would go on Merv Griffin and start off with, "You know, Maarv, there is one thing I always say to young actors...". Like he's Laurence Olivier or something. The "advice" would always be something self-aggrandizing, like: "Always be very generous to other actors, like I am..." The old gals in Merv's audience just ate it up!

Not only was it great to see the SCTV crowd together again in a VERY funny skit, but the whole thing was shot in my old neighbourhood in Scarborough! What a blast from the past! 😆

Comedic genius 😂 The heist building layout is priceless! Lego, cardboard and toothpicks! Oceans 11 stole the entire theme of this skit. They should be paying royalties to SCTV and the comedians families.

John Candy's laugh in this makes me laugh everytime.
In certain situations, I still laugh like that to this day. He also laughed like that in the movie "Vacation".
Absolutely the best laugh in show business!

I enjoyed SCTV more than Saturday
Night Live. The entire cast was brilliant.
Totally agree!
You only enjoyed it more because you had taste. And class! Sheesh, way to rub it in our faces!
This had such a great ‘Goodfellas’ vibe and was done 10 years before that film. SCTV is a hidden gem!!
Umm it’s a spoof on the 1960 oceans eleven film.
😂 Dude its a sinatra movie
@@Nitedawg1Yo dude, I know it’s based on Oceans Eleven; I’m just saying it has a Goodfellas vibe.
It's a parody of the original Ocean's Eleven film from the 60s. Long before Goodfellas.
