Kyle Guy, this game is what players dreamed of. That corner three was tough AF, the way he took the foul, and those ice cold three foul shots. I'll never forget watching it and I'm not even close to being a Virginia fan. Just an amazing moment in NCAA history.

Bruce Pearl coached against Virginia back in 2007 (#5S Tennessee vs. #4S Virginia - Columbus, OH). At that time Virginia was coached by Dave Leitao and Tony Bennett lost an OT game to #6E Vanderbilt (#3E Washington St - Sacramento, CA)
1:20:33 I realize it's difficult to do in the heat of the moment but, double dribble or not, when Jerome is at halfcourt with 2 seconds left, if Brown just lets Jerome go by Auburn wins and moves on to the championship game.

@@ALSDI2 1:13:09 Jerome travels here if you want to play this game but what it all boils down to is traveling is always called lightly in situations like these but when a player picks up his dribble (holds the ball with both hands) after dribbling then if he attempts to start his dribble again it is ALWAYS a double dribble violation or traveling or whatever they are calling it nowadays. Same with the foul. I can see that being a foul if it had been called a foul the other 39:59 minutes of the game.

I was at work during this game my bro text me every freaking second especially during the free throws but I like to come and remember these moments cause of my dad he is passed away but I got to watch them win the championship with him what a great moment and memory

I just need to watch some NCAA tournament game replays right now. I miss the tournament this year. I am getting soo sick and tired of this "coronavirus" stuff that's been on tv and the internet 24 hours a day. Its too depressing. I wish we where hearing about buzzer beaters and cinderellas on tv and online instead of how many people died in Venice and Seattle today as well as quarantines and lockdowns.

Second time in the tournament that Auburn fouled a 3-point shooter with a second to go. They got away with it against New Mexico State because the guy missed one of the free throws. Clearly they did not work on contesting perimeter jump shots very often.
All this and yet auburn was without its best player okeke. It’s safe to say that with a guy that averages 18 and 7 and 2 blocks a game that auburn was a better team that just didn’t have luck on its side that night but still managed to beat Kentucky and a double dribble away from beating eventual national champ Virginia

This is such a rare kind of foul against a three point shooter. To jump into the shooter and knock him off balance while he's still got the ball in his hand was just foolish. What a ridiculous way to lose a game.

Why's this even a dispute? Guy jumped and bumped Guy (the Virginia shooter Guy) and also gave him no space to land. Not even a Virginia fan but it's a foul clear as day.
Kyle guy kicked legs out if you watch it back plus Jerome double dribbled and brown got fouled when he shot but either way in the heat of the moment for Kyle

Other than McClemore, who had a good game, Auburn's other 4 starters went 10 for 33 from the field in that game. Those 4 guys probably still think about that night.

So I’m in line at halftime to get some chicken tenders with my 10 year old granddaughter who happens to be one of the 5 siblings of UVA shooting guard #5 Kyle Guy. Some big ole’ boy from Auburn behind us starts talking loudly how since they were up a couple points they would definitely win - “no way Virginia could hang with Auburn in the ....blah,blah blah....”. Of course we’ve got our UVA colors on, and Madison asks me “is that true Grandpa- are we going to lose?” I told her, looking big love boy in the eye, that the outcome of the game would be decided on the court. Low class Auburn boy rises to the challenge to proclaim his confidence and to wish us a long drive home the next day while....blah, blah, blah..... I will never forget when UVA comes back out to warm up before the second half as KG points at his siblings in the front row. How their faces light up with delight. The outcome of the game was undecided until the final .6 seconds at the free throw line - and was apparently unaffected by the boasting of the Auburn fanboys - or their loud protests exiting the building about .....blah, blah.......$

A foul is a foul. He impeded Kyle guy coming down. Auburn player jumped into him instead of vertically
You can't just ignore the rules for the sake of "letting them play". A foul is a foul, and that last play was very clearly a shooting foul. While I do agree that they got away with a double dribble on the previous play, the foul call at the end was correct.
It's clearly a foul, his lower body bumps into Guy's legs while he's in his shooting motion.
Using your logic, the defense should just mug the offensive player during the last minute or so. You play the game 40 minutes and the rules stay the same.

That was the dumbest foul I've ever seen on a three point shooter. But I also believe without the foul Guy makes the shot. Defender had to go for the block without fouling. That foul gave the game away.

There were two missed calls in this game the travel by Auburn with 20 seconds left and then the double dribble by Virginia with 0.6 seconds left to my opinion the referees in this game need to be trained better for when the game is on the line

It would have been somewhat similar to when Auburn played South Carolina in the SEC tournament. Notably, Bruce Pearl and Chris Beard faced each other in 2016 in a game which Auburn wasted a lead but held on to win.
