This must be the best week in cycling for the 20 years. This week consist of 8 stages of the TDF, men and womens XCO short tract and long track World Cups. Plus the icing on top with the best downhill track (LeGet) ever, holding the Women and mans DHL world cups. I am in cycle haven. All companied with great media presentation, Thanks Ben and others for all the informative upload that covers world cycling events. Thanks again and stay safe fellow cyclists.
I was wondering..... 2:55 There's a Shimano sign up on the bank before the left turn, with the tape the other side of it! Why would the tape be all the way up there? Was there not a very high line up there to set up for the left hander?
To add to what xcpete910 said, they used to also do a short 3-whistle blast if a rider was down, to let the previous marshall up the hill know if there is a crash that may involve a track blockage or injury, at least that's what they used to do back when i raced in the late 90's to early 2000's. Don't know if they still use that signal system. Back then radios where unreliable on mountains due to loss of signal from line of sight, the newer comms units might have eliminated that though.
The audio needs some normalization. I could barely hear Ben talking, so I turned up the volume, only to have my speakers blown out by the transition music.
I'd have gone middle line thru the trees all day long...but may have come in a little hotter hopping the first set of roots. M'eh... seems outside was defo quicker tho
Man can you guys tone it down on the loud music playing over the large flashy title text. Constantly turning volume up and down is frustrating as hell 😂
@@mcbedeakin thanks. Like "Hey watch out everybody a can of whoop ass approaches get behind a tree"? I like to watch xco but the whistle in dh drives me nuts - can't watch it.
@@revolversntulips In practice the rider's will tackle the track in multiple sections rather than doing a full top to bottom run. They may try multiple lines within each section to find the fastest line. A lot of the jumps and step downs have blind take offs so it is up to the rider's further down the track to get off the course.
Gotta love a bit of cathro. No other guy in WCDH is as Insightful, entertaining and charismatic to listen to
He keeps getting better.
I could watch hours of this, the longer the video the better with Ben!
This is the second best thing on race weekend. Besides the race ofc.
Hype high iq content pinkbike. World cup media coverage better than ever
"I reckon, the fastest line is the best" Peaty, 2021.

This is soo good! Love that ghosting.
Love this from CathroVision!!!
All things with cathro and Elliot are just awesome!!!
I've been missing this style of video, kudos to pinkbike on snapping up Ben, love it.
Never complete without ghost timing👍
This gonna be lit
I am voting for longer version of this, or 2 parts. Basically squeeze in the Cathrovision slow motions and more sections, please!
Steep forest tech roots gnar, summed up perfectly Cathro haha
Cathro World Cup hype train!
Damn, that like to dislike ratio showing how good these are

good vid, but music is a bit loud!
During the weekend, the tracks are changing so rapidly - I´d be interested in in after race track walks :D With a comparison.
Is that Dans Le Gaz behind Ben at the start of the video?
more tracks like this
max fucking working it hard on that ghosting footage... nice work
New to downhill, whats the whistle for? Just an audible signal that the guy ahead cleared the corner?
Just a warning for anyone lower down (spectator or rider) that someone is coming.

Love the ghosting
Damn - so good!!
music is way to LOUD!

Is cathro still racing and making the privateer series?
I'd have gone middle line thru the trees all day long...but may have come in a little hotter hopping the first set of roots.

Ben rocks!
OH HECK YEAH, love it

What's with the "referee whistle" in enduro/dh?
It signals that a rider is approaching on the track.
