Heenan killed the call. When he thinks they are reunited says something like “ I knew it one is nothing without the other” then when Shawn kicks him through the 💈 heenan says “ I knew it. HE DONT NEED JANETTY” beautiful work by the GOAT

The Rockers are the reason I started watching wrestling on a regular basis. They'll always be my favorite wrestlers of all time. 2 thoughts I've always had:1. The Rockers, The Hart Foundation and Demolition should all be in the HOF 2. Wouldn't it have been better to have the Rockers & Harts at WM 7 & give the Rockers the titles then? They were always an excellent pairing (The SNME match you guys reference is still one of my favorite matches ever). THey would have stole the show at that WM & then the Rockers could drop the belts to LOD at Summerslam & to me, it would have made the breakup that much more impactful. BTW, I love the idea of matching Shawn & Marty with Ax & Smash in singles matches & losing before winning the belts in a tag match!

The rockers were never going to be tag champs back then. They were to small. Also fans forget the Nasties had some steam going back then. Also they needed heels to take the straps to transition them to LOD. One face vs face match is one thing but it’s not going to happen at back to back ppv’s

A Nasty Boys episode would be cool the problem was they arrived in the WWF in January 1991 and Bruce was fired in May 1991. Bruce was rehired in September 1992 and the Nasty Boys left in April 1993 so I guess yes you can stretch it and look at both parts but the problem is the biggest parts of the Nasty Boys WWF run occurred when Bruce wasn't there.

This was a great podcast! I remember seeing the match between the Rockers and Power and Glory during Summerslam 1990. Now I know the reason for Shawn's knee injury. The Rockers and the Brain Busters were two of the top 5 best WWF tag teams of all time. The Michaels and Jannetty angle could have been so much better as they were wrestling doppelgängers in that they had the same moves and style, and it would have made very evenly matched contests.

Do any of you pay Bruce or Conrad for the work they do to entertain us? No, you listen for free. Therefore, you have no right to complain about ads. Do you expect them to do all this for nothing? Either you pay, or deal with ads. It's not just them, it's everyone.

If anyone else had said that I would assume they were trying to be funny, but since it was Verne Gagne that said It, I'm pretty sure that he was being serious & was legitimately concerned that people would confuse the two.

I know its pointless to comment on old shows but it rankled me that Conrad thinks Shawn worked opposite Paul Diamond at Mania VI when that was the first Orient Express, Akio Sato and Pat Tanaka. And misquoting the date of the most famous early Raw there was - 17th May, not 23rd (which was a Sunday) is when Marty beat Shawn and Kid beat Razor.

The Brooklyn brawler was not a jobber. He was a carpenter. A jobber was somebody who was not a full-time employee of the company and just came to TV tapings lost got paid and went home. They did it as a job on the side, not as a career. They didn't travel on the road and do house shows etc. They only wrestled when the WWE was either doing a TV taping or was short somebody and they were in town.

This was a great podcast on the Rockers and Marty Jannetty. Who would thought that 22 years ago Vince was as hot and cold as he is now. I was laughing every time that Marty was hired and fired like Bruce and Conrad. The reason why I did cause I didn't want to cry cause even though at times it might have appeared as Marty was battling demons, backstage politics led to every firing. I can see Shawn getting a 3rd induction with the Rockers. I can't believe they didnt win the WWF Tag Team Championship due to a ring break. I can't buy that. My gut tells me that Bret and or Jim didn't want the Hart Foundation to lose the WWF Tag Team Championship to the Rockers.

People bitching about ads in the first 15 minutes. News flash: most of it wasn't even ads. They were talking about cool stuff they've got going on in the current time.
And regardless, they explore each topic they covering extremely deeply. They're not just sitting there talking about nothing. They're entertaining you! Why wouldn't they deserve some kind of compensation for that? Give us all a break. If you don't want to hear it, then move forward on the crawl bar.

Marty should have been a big star as well. He almost certainly wouldn't have been the level of a star that Shawn Michaels was but he was a fantastic worker. He could have been a Christian to Shawn's edge. Someone who was in the upper midcard who could occasionally touch the main event scene and at least be a formidable opponent for the main event. But he definitely fucked himself out of a lot of opportunities. And he didn't have Vince in his front pocket like Shawn did. Sad how is life has come out but the vast majority is his fault sadly

i used to think of them as Rock and Roll Express rip offs. Marty was the Morton, Shawn was the Gibson until Shawn turned heel. Too bad Rock and Roll express didn't get more training from Verne Gange when they left the NWA in 87 and went to the AWA.
