THe reason why Dallas has had any success at all is because Kyrie and Luca are both HUSTLING on defense. They aren't great defenders, maybe not even 'good' defenders - but the hustle is huge. When they do lose to OKC or the TWolves in the WCF that same hustle is going to attract a lot of other players who will want to join them for a true title run next year :)
The Mavs do not need to attract other players. And they cant really do much next offseason in the 1st place. Luka/Kyrie/Exum/Green/THJ/Hardy/Lawson/Washington/O-Max/Maxi/Gafford/Lively/Powell... A nuance that so many people miss is how elite kyrie is as an off ball and spot up player. He doesnt need the ball in his hands to be effective. Thats why (in a basketball sense) he worked with bron, kd/harden, and luka.
This video makes a lot of sense. It is such a bad idea to pair Luka who is very similar fo Harden with Kyrie assuming it would be any different, + they didn't have KD, but it's not like the nets weren't good, they just weren't available, offensively this duo is amazing, and when they give it their all on defense they are a damn hard team to beat, and while seeming questionable at first, the mavs' wild move has found Luka that 2nd super star in their prime he needs that they could never get for Dirk, and are finally seeming like a competent front office
another reason is because the fans knew this team can comeback. also, they are one of the top 3 teams that can win it this year. My reasoning for this is, Luka will very likely be the best player on the floor, Kyrie will very likely be the 2nd or even best player on the floor, and their defense is elite. The first time I ever saw a true dynamic duo (I was there for it) was Jordan and Pip. Pip laid his talent down at the feet of the Bulls, giving them the formula for Jordan to be who he was. When Jordan just didn't have it (go back and check the tapes) Pip took over and showed who he really was. I think he regrets that decision now, but that's what it was. In this situation nobody is being asked to not be who they are (and nobody is being asked to be larger than life), and man, we are seeing beauty in sportsmanship. Glad to witness it.
Scottie saved Mikes ass so many times. As did Steve Kerr, Toni Kukoc and others. Pippens defence and in the last couple of years Rodmans hustle saved Mikes ass. Some of the games were close and Orlando with Shaq, Penny and 3D almost took them out in the playoffs one time. Still, Mike is the GOAT for me. Being from Europe, I woke up at night to watch NBA games as a kid (still don't understand why my parents allowed that, but I guess they sensed how much *I STILL LOVE THIS GAME)*
pippen signed for 7 years for 2 million dollars... thats why the team was so good. Had he gotten what he was worth surely the roster wouldve been much much shallower and the superteam of rodman pip and jordan wouldnt have worked.
All I now believe is that if Kai takes home the FMVP the perception around him will surely change by miles and stretches and would also significantly have a positive impact on his legacy.

Cuban wrapped up j kidd for multiple years before the Lakers could steal him away. Another good mavs move
The super team forming is called the Olympics
Yes, we HAVE seen something like this before: Curry and Durant. Each was capable of taking over a game. Their stats were virtually identical. I watched them take turns when it was time for a game-winner.
Playoff crowds and regular season crowds have different energy levels?? Omg! who knew
Calling the clippers the most start studded team is crazy when the warriors had curry kd klay dray and boogie
9:57 super old team 😂
9:49 its funny how we all know The east only have one candidates for the Finals. The East is so weak... Its fun to see the Knicks winning and making noise, but if they were in the west they would most likely have been eliminated. Its really just Boston.
0:56 tight game in 4 Q 😂
Nice commentary, subject. Thanks for not using plasti-voice. I'm so sick of computer generated voice-overs. We should be able to filter those out... demonetize them..
I appreciate you throwing a bone to Cuban
I was there. The players didn't give up and coaches didn't give up, fans didn't give it up either. Clipper 3pts has HIGHER accuracy than their free throws (insane).
Kyrie hasn't been ball dominant for a long time. You have to go to last decade for it. The media completely missed how much Kyrie and James grew on that NETS team.
Where is that laugh that keeps playing in the background from? I keep hearing it.
0:20 its a playoff game the energy is dofferent
Luka is not even in his prime yet
