Dangerous rescue to save trapped deer!
Вставка

- When it comes to UK wildlife, deer are some of the most risky things to rescue. In addition to sharp hooves, powerful legs and antlers, they also react incredibly poorly to stress and containment. Speed, a calm approach and teamwork are of utmost importance to ensure things go well.
Last week, we were called by Neil from Wallington Animal Rescue after he was called out to help a male roe deer that had been trapped inside an enclosed industrial complex for a week...
Catching mobile deer is always tricky... but the team quickly set off to help!

Simon still going out on rescues just proves the old adage 'Can't keep a good man down'. Well done everyone!!! High fives and gold stars across the board for all involved!
Hi Patricia I share your comment🎉🎉🎉
As far as I know, this is a older video. Simon is not alive anymore unfortunately!
@@trinebpetersen1672 ooh no poor Simon. When I saw further clips afterannouncing his illness I thoughts that he was healed. So so sad he passed away . RIP 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻dear Simon🫶🏻
@@trinebpetersen1672 That's not true. This channel posted an update on his treatment a month ago, and there has been no announcement of him passing. He has a terminal illness, but he's still fighting.
@@AD270479 That is good news. I was so sure that this was, what I once read. Sorry for having writen falsh news!..
The coordination, both during and after capture, is always impressive to watch! 🦌 Glad this little one was safely returned. 💕
It's always so much easier with a team. My partner and I used to catch wildlife together (on hiatus for the most part due to bird flu) and when it went smoothly, and we were well coordinated, it's a pretty awesome feeling.
Lawrie did a great job making sure everyone knew what to do and when to do it.
You guys have learned to handle wild and erratic wild animals in a smooth and highly careful manner, thus ensuring their safety as well as the crew of WAF. Well done guys! Stay safe.
We know the effort - coordination needed to get the task done but they make it look so easy.
As always, the Wildlife Aid crew make a rescue, even a deer rescue, look almost easy.
Very considerate of Jacob to carry all that hair for those that can't any more. Such a kind lad! 😅
I'm more in awe of Neil's beard to be honest!
Love you guys. UK wildlife is in desperate need of more respect from ‘man’.
Whew. I held my breath the whole time. Thank goodness for all the wonderful people who help and care for Britain's wild creatures. Well done all of you.
It's great to see collaboration with other organizations like Wallington Animal Rescue in this case. As I understand they are not specialized in wildlife rescue, but still assisted in the rescue.
Great job, wildlife Aid!
We do like your videos and we also like you, Simon. You did lots and lots of good in your lifetime. Rest in Peace.
Wow, you make it look so easy, but I know it isn't, I could hear the huffing and puffing, some don't realise how much energy you need for these rescues to seem easy. Well done to both wildlife teams for working so efficiently ❤❤
Gentle, assertive way to deal with the animals, as allways. Making sure to minimise stress and injury. So great to see Simon still doing what we all love for him to do: rescuing animals!
With the extensive training of Lawrie and now Jacob, I have noticed as each year passes, how much smoother the rescues of roes go. Well done everyone! ❤❤❤
My granddaughter was thrilled to see this. She said he turned to say Thank you!!!! God Bless you all ❤❤❤❤
I always love when they take a quick look back at you, as sort of a way to say 'thanks!' before running off again, even though realistically I suppose it could be a predator or prey assessment too. Thanks for helping this guy Simon, Lawrie, Jacob and Doug! I'm so glad the wallington folks were able to corral him into a space that you could get him without too much stress
Still doing a sterling job, Team! Thankyou and God Bless! ❤ XXX
Cool, calm and collected! What a team! Well done everybody, well done!
This just gives me such faith that there are good decent people out there. Thankyou for your care love and consideration for wildlife. You are my heros
Simons expertise is invaluable. He has seen it all!
Interesting that this little fella didn't take off like a rocket as some others do! Well constructed and a good job done!
all this animals have a soul. they know full well, that you saved them. they will remember it. ☺️
WAF and WAR forgetting their differences and coming together to save a dear old deer. That's a beautiful thing.
Thank you!! God bless you ❤️🙏❤️
Textbook capture & release by the team - what a pretty animal, makes my day if I see one. All praises be unto the Lord for his magnificent creation!
Wow, you guys are good!

@@Dani-El. Thanks for the info! Didn't know that 😮. Thanks 🤗
Thank you for everything you do or the animals.💗💗💗💗.
❤❤❤ I love when Simon and Lori talk to the animals, soothingly, my favorite!❤❤❤
Makes me so happy to see you rescue all the animals. Great job.
Great job guys! A young but potentially very dangerous buck
Well done folks, thank you for being magnificent ❤
Thank you! 🤗
I didn't have any doubt that you will have a tight and safe but gentle grip. 😃👍 My only concern was some "spontaneous" power of the deer to jump over the fence or net and get itself in danger in road traffic. 🤷♂️
Thank you guys.
Thanks for all you do x
Wonderful rescue!!😊😊. Fantastic to see Simon ❤❤❤❤
Great rescue. ❤️ God bless you. You are amazing. 🥰
Wow! That was impressive...so calm!
Thank you for looking after all the wildlife 🦊🦊🦝🦝🐭🐭🐰🐰🦔🦔🦢🦢🦆🦆
Well done, thank you ❤
I love it when animals look back at their rescuers
Love to see guys in action especially when Simon join. So heartening to see him leading the rescue.
Legend. Bless you Simon xxx
Amazing work. Thank you❤
Beautiful. Really beautiful. The teamwork, clear communication, trust for each other, reverence for the animal and your own safety. A good lesson for anyone who works either with animals, in a team, or both.
Well done!
Thanks Wildlife Aid team 👍
Great teamwork
Fantastic rescue!!! Great team work! So nice to see Simon again!!
I've been catching on all your wildlife rescues, and enjoy them very much. I just which you'd show us exerts of feeding them (their reaction to their surprising benevolent captor and enjoying the food) whilst they recover in you care. Meanwhile, thank you for doing a wonderful service to wildlife, and those of us who care but can't do more than keep their garden safe for ALL visitors.
A Great Rescue as all your rescues are
Good job. That seemed to go rather smoothly.
Dangerous and hard work England and the rest of GBUK must protect whats left of the Greenbelt
Bravo to all ❤. Glad you’re doing well, Simon 😘.

That was a well executed pincer movement. Its great to see Simon out on rescues.
Best wishes to you all.👍
Nice work guys', well done again.
Really good work there guys, thanks for all your hard work x
I concur if antlers don't open you up hooves will well done guys and Simon still going strong 👍🐾🦊🇬🇧🦌🦡🦔
Yes I saw a deer kill a fox once. Horrific!
@@wardygrub never mess with bambi big red stags can right your car off big insurance jobs in Scotland in Australia its kangaroos but what type of deer was it ?👍🐾🦊🦌
@@John-wo5bp I think it was a roe deer. The fox was already caught in a trap so I went to get my brother to dispatch the poor sod. When we got near we saw a deer trampling the fox to death with her hooves. Not very nice. My bro finished it off but the deer had done a proper job! Savage!
@@wardygrub dang obviously had a score to settle animals never forget is why I trust them over people hell I hand feed wild badger and foxes and hedghogs np 👍🐾🦊🇬🇧🦡🦔
I really appreciate how you all emphasize how dangerous it is. I've had so many people tell me, as someone who catches the more difficult to catch wildlife in the area, how easy it would be to catch X animal. I know it's because they don't understand that this is literally what the animals do. They are prey animals. They eat, poo, sleep, and escape predators, and the second (sorry I've been poo-ed on a lot lol) and last one they've quite good at. I just say "If you tried that, this would happen, and you would end up ass over teakettle............ And I might laugh if you're not seriously injured"
Question, completely unrelated: Is the bird flu an issue over there right now? If so, how are you staying safe? I had to give up rescuing vectors of bird flu because it's becoming a thing and getting spread to other animals. My partner is susceptible to complications of certain disease, but not others. Sucks 'cause catching birds was what I was best at! I would love to hear the answer if you have time.
The blighter did turn their head back towards the rescuers to say thank you!!!
I’m always amazed at how tiny the deer are there
Great rescue! Cant praise you guys enough for how you assess and handle situations - the best of the best!
Ahh I recognise where this is! Good job guys!!!
Nice work with a gentle capture!
Aww :) Great job guys, go team WAF!
👏👏👏 WELL DONE guy's, cracking good job and video thanks 💖😁
Excellent job 👏👏👏👏
Wow, poor 🦌, probably hungry and confused 💜
Legends❤
Inspirational stuff! Well done
No water ? No tree climbing ? Why is Lawrie here ?! 😁
Fantastic!
2:55 - “Cheers!”
Nice work
Such an amazing job, but I always worry it’ll end up like that one I saw years ago, where Simon had to sadly shoot it. Great job again guys
See you at the Open Weekend on 1st July ❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Gracious, all of you
Not sure if you explained it before somewhere but how come you don't use some kind of tranquilizer darts or so? Wouldn't that reduce the risk of injury for you and the animal?
Tranquilliser darts don't work like they do in films. They can take 15 minutes or more to take effect and cause a much greater level of stress during that time. There are also severe legal restrictions on controlling exactly where the dart goes (as the sedatives are tightly controlled) and delays in full recovery (even when reversed) that can cause other issues.
We do have the kit and licenses for tranquillisers, but don't use them too often. :)
@@wildlifeaid I see, thanks for the explanation!
Congratulations for your work, you are blessed. I want to ask if you could have given him some water since he was trapped there almost a week. Thank you
100% 5* 👏

Hi, this is the first comment on your video.
👍💕

Brits are nice poeple!
I need help I know where a deer has been trapped in a closed down school premises its in the pond section I seen it yesterday it has also been sighted nearly a year ago so that means it's been trapped for that long it needs to be captured and released back the freedom
Will Simon not get his hair back?
-He looked back and said THANKYOU>>> still working on art to get the right attention to buy. USA like many areas around the world are in a spot of uncertain. And with the police defund, many have taken up a NEW WAY , illegal, but people are unaware, but too late, innocent, being fined, have too much cash on hand ( 50,000) and a police stop you for a minor tail light, and asks a series of questions , then ask about money, which is legal , but they will say they do not believe you are going to buy a Car, or home. even when you have a bank statement, they say they have the right to take it if they believe it is to buy drugs, they use a dog K9 and of course the dog will detect some order on money, it is there even in the banks. And so people are stuck.
right across the street? lol
WAF and Lawrie are pros at this kind of rescue. 👍❤🫎😊
🥸🦌😁
Nicely done. And it is so nice that you work together with another group to save it❤
