I appreciate your channel, it addresses many issues young people face in this modern culture: can you please have an episode on these:
    1. Right of inlaws in Islam. Inlaws abuse in Islam.
    2. What are the limitations of parents rights in regards to their children? Seems like parents have unlimited rights and that results to abusing their adult children from money, to family to marriage to growth. Many children of narcissistic parents felt like they’re going to be eternally manipulated since parents rights doesn’t seem to have limits in Islam.
    3. How to raise children with imaan in this day and age western world ? Sunday schools is far between, both parents work, while schools are teaching them opposite of Islam like gay rights, etc.

As a general rule avoid shaking hands with opposite gender but there is exception when someone does not know Islam. If she/ or he greets and shake hand, can shake or any other related situation.
When someone new at work, cannot explain her/his situation but once start working and relationship with people, tell them it is not norm to shake hand.thank u sheikh!

Very interesting view sheikh. I'm gonna ask around among my teachers on their opinion of your views because it's really practical and pragmatic.

I think 🤔 this video didn’t clarify anything, it added to the confusion. Like the anecdotal story of a woman not interested in the religion because someone put his boundaries forefront didn’t prove much either. Some people don’t shake hands for a variety of reasons. Taking offense for someone expressing their boundaries, says much about the receiving end. I mean if they express their boundaries and demand respect of it, they should be open to others’ boundaries and respect them too. Having respect on both sides is KEY. We don’t have to have similar opinions but respect and compassion make a difference. The boundary was not aimed to harm or cause distress. It was just the man’s own boundary for himself.
There was a story of a man sitting in a restaurant eating; he noticed a man on the table next to him staring at him constantly. He got really angry and wanted to get up and punch him. Just then, a waiter came by and talked to the staring man. He realized the man was blind, his anger subsided. He recognized it was his own perception of the man that he was judging and reacting to all along. He laughed at himself and went greeted the man before he left the restaurant. It was a lifetime lesson.

I understand the perspective sheikh. However I think something important in western countries is overlooked I believe, which is where do we draw the line? If Muslims shake hands we know okay that’s it. But engaging with non Muslims will be more difficult.
I have see an example with a sister who shook a non-Muslim’s hand, they were in conversation later and she was opening up about something which made her cry. As he sat next to her and wanted to comfort her he started rubbing her back with his hand to which she replied with “oh no no” and pushed his hand away. So if it’s about avoiding “uncomfortable” situations, it would’ve been way better to not shake hands so that the line is immediately clear.
Therefore I prefer to stick to this practice with both Muslims and non Muslims.

Okay, first of all is there a necessity for these sisters to be there as a panel??? Just shows Maghrib has lost its Salafi touch since inception... Secondly, why bring these issues of ikhtilaf and interpretation from Scholars to the general masses? Leave these to the Scholars and students... To the general masses, you just give the evidence

    • @faysalahmed9157
      @faysalahmed9157 3 роки тому +4

There is no wrong in women appearing in the panel especially if there is a noble purpose and the sisters are abiding by the sharia guidelines. Our prophet (saw) used to dedicate time for women only after men outnumbered them in asking question in his mosque. There were no barriers between men and women in the Prophet (saw)'s mosque.
Face and hands of women are NOT part of awrah (parts which should be covered in the public or in the presence of outside immediate family). Women were accustomed to showing their face and hands (while dressed mostly with outer garment) in the public space during the time of prophet (saw). What is not awrah is NOT prohibited to show in the public.
In regards to differences of opinions- Sometimes it's good to give differences of views and their justification especially if the other side brings proof as well, at the same time concluding with the wise, balanced and safer option - which shaykh Waleed did here.

Some of the mufassireen mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) called for a vessel of water and dipped his hand in it, then the women dipped their hands in it. And some of them said that he did not shake hands with them from behind a barrier and had a Qatari cloak over his hand. And it was said that ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) shook hands with them on his behalf. None of these reports are sound, especially the last one, How could ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) have done something that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who was ma’soom (infallible), would not do?
    Tarh al-Tathreeb, 7/45
Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
The most correct view is that this (i.e., shaking hands with women from behind a barrier) is not allowed at all, because of the general meaning of the hadeeth, according to which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “I do not shake hands with women;” and so as to ward off the means that may lead to evil.
