Ukraine will reportedly receive the US-made Joint Direct Attack Munition Extended Range, or JDAM-ER, an air-launched precision guided bomb with an additional wing kit that means it can engage around 45 million targets.

The JDAM-ER "missile" is not a missile. It is basically a long range glide bomb that is propelled due to launch velocity (from an aircraft) and due to gravity. There is no rocket motor on these munitions.

JDAM is a US munition, but the ER (Extended Range) variant of the JDAM is Australian 🇦🇺, first tested in 2006 by the Australian Defence Science and Technology Organisation in conjunction with Boeing Australia. (which helps explain why you can see the kangaroo RAAF logo on the fighter jet at 0:18 lol). They're manufactured by Australia's Ferra Engineering

First *successfully* tested in 2006. Testing started 2004. And Ferra makes the wingkit, not the tailkit.

The US JDAM-ER can glide 45 miles but you have to launch at 40,000 feet where S400 will slap you before you can launch. S400 is why UKR fighters have to fly at low altitude. JDAM-ER is just a PR move.
