This video shows how I bonded my male and female pair of rabbits with my trio (2 females, 1 male) into a group of 5! The bond took 11 days and I filmed the whole process! I have gone through hours and hours worth of footage to get this video together so I really hope it helps some of you out! Good luck to anyone bonding rabbits!

Thank you for the super detailed video. I'm a first time rabbit owner and trying to bond a pair who just don't seem to want to cooperate. It's really reassuring to see a video where the rabbits have a few hiccups to show that it can work out!
Yeah, I might be getting two male Rabbits, and I'm super nervous about them bonding with each other, and I know one of my rabbits had history of getting along with males and he's not neutered, so hopefully it will be okay, but I'm still nervous (they are both going to get neutered before they even become introduced to each other)
I love that you booked a week off work to bond your rabbits
Haha I was very dedicated! 😂
I hope I have the patience to bond all 7 of my buns when the time comes. I have 6 boys and 1 girl so things are bound to get hectic but this video really showed me that with enough time, patience, and courage it's possible to house multiple rabbits together. Thank you, and I hope all is well for you and your rabbits.
Thank you, they are doing really well. 😊 Best of luck bonding your 7!
I think robin wanted to be dominant over them all 😂
just like my 3 bunnies the one want to be dominant hes started fighting and biting thats why i put separately
I feel so bad for the lionhead...... it's so sweet & keeps getting attacked..... it's the odd man out
Thank you! I watched your video over and over and just successfully bonded 4 buns that had been stubborn before this method. Thank you.
Wow, you actually did it! Thank you so much for the comment you sent me 5 months ago about me losing my 6 rabbits, I appreciate it. Please take this advice, do not get too many more rabbits as I got loads of them and the more you have the higher the risk. I am only saying this for your bunnies own health and I do not want you to go through the horrible experience I went through💔. Keep posting videos though, and I am SOOO happy that you got home I was so worried. Your bunnies have such a natural life and please, carry on posting. I am crying A little because groups of rabbits remind me of the ones I lost😭. I love you so much and you look after your bunnies so well.💕
Aw thank you so much. I wont be getting any more rabbits, sticking at 5 now xx
Why have rabbits if you are going to lock them in a shed outside? I have 2 free roaming in part of my house and a bonded pair of fosters in another part. I've fallen in love with the fosters though and I'm hoping to bond them all so we will have 4 free roaming together inside with us.
Because they aren't happy in the house. They love having their own shed and aviary, it's much more natural. They have a digging box and are really happy.
When they put their head down it’s not a submissive thing it’s actually the opposite. It is an attempt to get the other rabbit to groom them.
Hi! It can be both 😊 Rabbits can be confusing but this is the research I've read:
'A top bunny will request grooming from a subordinate by laying her head flat on the ground close to the other rabbit, often pushing her head under his chin. She may return the favour at times as an act of affection but generally speaking the top bunny gets much more grooming from her subordinate(s).
Confusingly, rabbits also lay their heads on the ground to show submission and you may often see subordinate rabbits doing this but the usual response from top bunny is either to ignore or give a quick ear or eye lick.'
Primrose is definitely top bun now haha and when she puts her head down it is definitely because she is boss 😂 However in the bonding situation I could see she was nervous and was putting her head down to show no threat. Thanks for the info though!
Great video but one suggestion (not to do with bonding) you should really switch to water bowls. Water bottles break quickly and can actually lead to dehydration in rabbits. Usually rabbits aren’t capable of getting a good amount of water out of bottles which obviously as I said leads to dehydration. Just a recommendation for you!
Hey thanks for the suggestion! I currently have more than one water bottle for them in case of them breaking etc but you’re right bowls are better so I will probably put bowls in as well. Thank you x
@@mypamperedpets You’re welcome! Glad I could help. Usually people don’t have an open mindset and don’t take suggestions in but you did so thank you for doing that.
No problem! Always an open mindset when it comes to my pets and improving their life ❤️
@@hazza1297 I've noticed the buns are drinking a lot more now they have a bowl as well as bottles. They definitely seem to prefer it so thanks so much again :)
@@mypamperedpets oh that’s awesome!! I’m glad I could make a suggestion. You’re such a great bunny owner. Love it how you take suggestions to enhance your bunnies health, usually people are superrr defensive when it comes to suggestions. I love your content keep up the great work.
That was a great video
the dutch rabbit is a real gladiator , like rodney king said , WHT CANT WE JUS GET ALONG , nice job, thanks for the post
Thank you very informative.I’m trying to get my bunnies together. They were great together a month ago. Had received my friends bunny after. Then they started fighting
im getting ready to bond 5 rabbits and im soo nervous i have this one lion head and hes so agressive. but this video gives me hope
It’s hard to bond but it can happen over time.
Bout to try and bond 7. Wish me luck
Aww
Thanks for this video! we already have 2 bonded rabbits.
Lol Primrose actually over here asserting herself as the dominate female and demanding grooming, Ruby getting pissed cause she doesn't want to do it *stomp*. Robin out here being the family dooche and demanding attention from all because he wants to be leader of the pack, Bertie is as the only other male refusing to submit. Robin submits haha! Bertie is king.
Do you ever fully trust them alone all together after being bonded or do you still feel on edge thinking they will fight while all alone? That's my fear😅 I rescued a tiny baby bunny about 2 weeks ago... so baby girl bun is about 6 weeks now I think and I want to bond her to my spayed 2 yr flemish bun... 1st time I tried bonding a rabbit to my flemish was about 2 yrs ago and the boy just didn't like other rabbits... hoping this time it goes well
Can I just say, you deserve more subscribers. I subbed to both of your channels!💕👍

Bless them ❤️❤️ Lovely names and I’m sorry for your loss xx
Thanks, at least you care. At school i was teased and called the bunny murderer and people even said I poisoned them. It tore my heart to shreds as I had never heard of vhd until after mine died. We were so confused but after it came up on Facebook, it all made sense💕💔🐇🐰
Aw no! People can be so cruel! Ignore them, you know the truth x
Do you think I could bond 5 rabbits without them ever being bonded
Bertie is so cute
Thank you for your video. I have three rabbits (2 does and a buck). The buck was neutered and separated a week and half ago. The girls get spayed in four weeks. Should I bond him with them only after they get healed from being spayed and keep him separate but close? I am new to the bonding process.
Yeah that's exactly what I'd do ☺️
how do you know if the bonds solidified
What do we do if they latch on to each other and don’t let go? They’re being super violent
Then they need separating unfortunately. Are they both neutered/spayed?
@@mypamperedpets I have separated them yes, and they are both neutered and they both have female partners, but they attack each other really severely whenever I try to introduce them
Sorry to hear Are you introducing them in a very small neutral space?
@@mypamperedpets So far the smallest space I’ve introduced them in is a metre wide neutral cage, and they were fine for a second, but then the littlest one started a fight that could have gotten pretty bad. I think it would be better to introduce them in one like the one in the video, with the female rabbits in there as well, but I’m worried that they will immediately attack each other again, as once they latch on to each other they are super hard to separate
Wait did they not have any water the first day?
They had a bottle attached to their cage. I didn't use a bowl for bonding because they'd have just knocked it over.
Primrose is so sweet😍
The girls
Primrose: like me
Scarlet and ruby: meh
Robin: IM THE BOSS ( he like. Chihuahua in bunny form)
Bertie: NOPE NOPE NOPE
How can I bond 1 month baby rabbits with adult rabbits
The babies are far too young to be bonded, they should still be with their mum.
I felt really bad for Bertie :(
I did too! He's super happy now though, always snuggled in the middle of them all. So it was all worth it. ❤️
You did great bonding those buns, however you should trash that stupid water bottle and give them a water bowl where they can drink it like a cat or dog would. If you had a dog or cat you wouldn’t give them a water bottle to drink from would you? Rabbits will actually drink as much as cats. Also the shed should have some sort of light like a window so they can see while they are in the shed maybe install a window in the shed wall or something so they aren’t in the dark. But the biggest thing is the water bottle.
The rabbits do have multiple bowls but for bonding we use a bottle to avoid them getting soaked when chasing. The shed also has two windows and a cat flap. The door of the shed is always open throughout the day as they have an aviary on the front so they are definitely not short of light!
@@mypamperedpets oh well that’s great to hear it was just what you could see in the video…we have 2 rabbits going through a bonding boot camp at the moment and that is working out great so far
A video is always a snippet not showing the full picture. 😊 Thanks for the feedback though and good luck with your bond.
Good thing you mentioned it since there are people out there still using them. I didnt know anything about bunnies when i found mine but after a week i noticed the urin change and just made a tea for her and added a bowl of fresh water and she was fine. Bunnies will never spend enough time to drink enough so bottles should only be for transport or yes.. situations like this 😅
Currently bonding my three, lady, Romeo and Rosaline. Romeo and Rosaline are fine, Lady and Rosaline are fine but Lady and Romeo .... I’ve tried everything they fight really really badly I do it every day giving them treats and trying them in small spaces and big spaces. Is it a possibility they will never bond ? 😣 Love your videos ! Well done on bonding five ! X
Hi, love their names! 🥰 Aw some rabbits can be so fussy can’t they! Are you splitting them up between bonding attempts or keeping them together 24/7 at the moment?
mypamperedpets hehe thank you! I am yes can’t trust them alone together 😣 they’re in cages near each other and I swap them and their toilets around so they get used to each other’s scent but they are just so aggressive. I’ve been having them in the bath together every day and no improvement, both spade and neutered I’m just not sure what I’m doing wrong xx
To be honest the constant splitting up won’t be helping them as they’re not going to be able to establish a relationship. If you’re able to, the best thing to do is put them in a small neutral space and keep them there 24/7. You’ll need to stay and watch them and I understand this is difficult for a lot of people but with the current isolation situation this may be the perfect time to try. Thank you and good luck! Xxx
mypamperedpets okay I’ll give it a go ! thank you so much xx
Good luck! 😁❤️
I'm currently researching bonding multiple rabbits.. I've got 1 definite girl who is around 8-9 months old, one who I'm almost certain is a girl who is almost 5 months (we need to get a vets opinion as she was a surprise litter). And my already neutered male who is 5 years old. It's my first time bonding rabbits and it's going to be a trio. Any tips or suggestions?
Hi I have a video on bonding a trio that should help 😊 Defo need a small neutral space and the girls need to be spayed first too.
@@mypamperedpets thanks. I've watched the trio video and it was super helpful. One of my 2 girls is booked to be spayed next week and the other needs to wait a little while first but I definitely will
I have two bonded females, and I want to add a male, would that work??
As long as all neutered then yes it can work. 😊
My bunnies are 3 boys and they came from the same litter. I got them at 6 weeks and at 3 months I had to separate one from the other two. I can't seem to get them to bond and when I try, they injure one another. I don't know if I should keep trying or just give up the pair. I'm so attached and they give me a hard time. :(
Hi are they neutered?
@@mypamperedpets 👋 hello! Thank you for replying. Yes!! I got all fixed!
@@andreachavez3603 it can take 6 weeks for hormones to calm down

OMG this video was just what I needed to see today. I have been trying to work up the courage to bond my four rabbits. I have a trio (1 boy and 2 girls) and a boy on his own. You have given me courage to give this a try. I will be over the moon if I can pull it off as well as you have x
Ooh good luck! Let me know how you get on xx
How did it go?
Lol, my new zealand is double the size of these cute bunnies
LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEW UODATES!!
THIS VIDEO WAS VERY HELPFUL😊
SUCH A BUEATIFUL VIDEO!!!🌷
PS,,YOUR BUNNIES ARE ABSOLUTELY ADORBSS!!!🥰
Putting head down isn't submissive its a sign of dominance
actually primrose isn't being submissive bowing her head like that, she is being dominant. she is demanding grooming
I'm struggling with bonding mine, it is terrifying and I get so much anxiety. They used to be very close but we never knew they were two males so they started fighting. We got them neutered and that but I'm trying to get them back together. They still groom at each other but I think they cant figure out who's more dominant. Thanks for this video! I'm glad I'm not the only one who get super nervous 🥰
Aw good luck! I’m sure they’ll sort it out between them eventually ❤️
We have the same problem they used to be so close but we dont know they were males sooo..... And also they were siblings and then they just started fighting
(btw their names are Marshie and Kit)
Did you ever get them bonded again? Or have you had to separate? I've always known males and females to get along better than same sex pairs. I did have a mother and daughter pair who were bonded, but I think it was mostly due to the daughter being her baby.
Maybe try again but not in spring time as rabbits are naturally more hormonal in the spring, so this makes it harder to bond.
@@tamielynne7374 Sadly, I never did. I figured it wasnt worth either of them getting injured and there was no guarantee that if I bonded them they wouldnt just start fighting again. Although I highly doubt I could have bonded them. Instead I have separated them, but they are right beside each other and can groom and lay against each other still only with wire to keep them both safe. They seem pretty happy with it and I know it isnt the best but it will do! I dont want them hurting or killing each other :)
Tip: when a bunny puts their head down, it can be a sign of dominance, because the bunny is asking to be groomed!
Correct! It can be both 😅
Hi. This video is so so helpful. Trying to bond our (my son's) 2 x 2 bunnies (2 girls / 1 boy and girl - all neutered). One of the girls (in the boy./ girl relationship) seems to be the only issue.
Isn’t the rabbit putting its head down a sign of dominance, not submissiveness?
Putting their heads down is a sign of dominance. Not submissive.
Hi! It can be both 😊 Rabbits can be confusing but this is the research I've read:
'A top bunny will request grooming from a subordinate by laying her head flat on the ground close to the other rabbit, often pushing her head under his chin. Primrose is definitely top bun now haha and when she puts her head down it is definitely because she is boss 😂 However in the bonding situation I could see she was nervous and was putting her head down to show no threat. Thanks for the info though!
@@mypamperedpets I guess it depends. I currently have 1 bunny he’s a mini rex. I’m bringing home a second bunny on Saturday he’s half continental giant. There about 6-7 weeks apart in age. I hope they get on well. My continental giant is already bigger than my mini rex xx
Oh good luck with bonding! :)

Use a water bowl it’s better than a bottle
They have both ☺️
this was so helpful! i am bonding 7 bunnies right now and it is not easy!! 2+2+2+1 pairing, its been quite the journey as some bonded instantly and some are still not getting along at all.... but i am starting “from scratch” today with somethings ive learnt from this video, i really hope it works :D
I always wondered what happens if they start to fight in the small space
WHY AM I TEARING UP WHEN BERTIE AND ROBIN GROOM EACH OTHER HELP
The bonding session is like a sitcom so much drama specious and then peace
It's sooo cuteeeee. My only concern is that it would be better for them to have drinking bowl when they have extended space not bottle.
Agree! Bunnies were rattling that bottle desperate for a good drink!
Thank you, they do actually have a bowl instead now 😊
THANKS FOR POSTING THIS!! I got so involved in this that i needed to see how it ended :) I'll be bonding my male and female soon and this gives me hope that everything will be fine!!

My bun momma died leaving two litters behind all went to a nice and bunny known home but I kept two of her babies while she was still alive she picked on one female which I have until they become one her daughter got a litter too all babies to good homes. Now he is neutered and she about being spayed next month and so bought two new gurls since they always were four but knowing this pet store owner having snakes private you know what would happen so the male seems okay but she not. Shed nipped them for now and had to build a huge huge x pen for the 10weeks old to been safe...i hope her spaying gotta help a bit

Rianna Talento was it scary at first? I’m trying to bond mine using this method but it is not going well, they attacked each other at first sight and they are both being so aggressive, yet both of them had flopped within the first fifteen minutes! So i’m very confused and i don’t know if my bunnies with bond, thoughts?
@@carissasammons3394 Hi! Yes it was pretty scary at first. My girl, Luna, kept chasing and attacking my boy, Theo, which caused him to retaliate. However for me, the fighting only lasted for a day. The next day I put the bunnies in a carrier for a stress bonding car ride which helped TREMENDOUSLY. There wasn't anymore fighting after that. After the car ride I would put them in half a bath tub and then increase their space if they continued to do well. very cute but you should really put the camera down at times to stop the fighting
You have to allow nipping and fur pulling or they would never bond. Aggressive fights are always stopped. I now have a happy bonded group of 6 so confident in the method x
I am exhausted. We have two female rabbits and can’t bond them
Bertie is sooo cute !
this is not fair. it took 4 MONTHS for my pair or girls to bond😑
Thank you for showing there will be ups and downs almost every video looks perfect and that’s not the case for most of us
Omgosh they are starving! Rabbits don’t go nuts like that over pellets. Might be a reason why they are fighting too. That Dutch one though…ouch
They're not starving 😂
Did you do this by yourself? I am starting to bond two m/f pairs and while I want to do the 24/7 style, I don't know how to make it work around my job. Did you do any pre-bonding before putting them all in the small cage in the bathroom? (btw Primrose is soooooooooo cute, especially when she's sprawled out in the cuddle puddle!)
I did yes, I booked a week off work.

Nice video! I just wonder if there is some way to bond unspayed (doe) rabbits?
I absolutely love your bonding videos! I’m currently trying to bond my pair. It’s the first time I’ve tried bonding adult rabbits. I’m day five and they are doing well still some biting every now and then. I’m worried about one of them as he is used to free roaming and he seems quite sad in the small space. Any tips for letting him have a run without effecting the bond? Or making him happier in the space? Thank you!:))
Thank you so much! Aw bless him, it’s so hard keeping them confined. Unfortunately letting him out could affect the bonding process :( Could you possibly make their space a little bit bigger? That way he can have more room but still be with the other rabbit! X

No. Definitely neuter your rabbits.

I’ve been wanting to start the bonding process with my 2 already bonded pair, and my new girl that’s isn’t so new anymore lol both females are spayed but are both super dominant whereas my little boy is super docile and couldnt be bothered by anyone. But it’s something that has to be done eventually I’m just scared to do it lol
Aw good luck! You got this 💪🏼
I know you posted this a while ago but how did it go? I have 2 sisters from different litters and they hate each other. The older sister is bonded to my male and the male is the dominant. They live in areas beside each other so they know the others are there but everytime I let them close the older sister chases her sister and she lived free roam in my room for 6 months until she started being naughty and I moved her back to an XPEN beside the others. They are all between 1.5 and 3 years and they are all desexed
I'd be reluctant to groom Robin too if I were being nipped and bitten by his aggressiveness 😅😭But Im glad he got groomed by the others; play nice now!
They're all best friends now especially the boys! 😂🥰
This video is making me wanna try adding a third to my pair... already been considering it XD But I'm worried what would happen if they don't bond as I don't have space for another enclosure... (There's barely space for the one I have currently. Its taking up just as much space as it can without blocking off the door to my apartment.)
Ah thats the risk with getting another! What you could do though is go to a reputable rescue and ask to adopt on the premise that the new rabbit bonds with your pair. If it doesn’t work out they will go back to the rescue but make sure it’s a good rescue that is happy for you to attempt this.
this was super helpful! tomorrow i’m going to be bonding 5 bunnies too, they’re all currently separate rabbits but i have had a male and female pair and 2 females together but i ended up having to split both pairs up so i’m hoping they will all be happy together :)

I been trying to bond my bunnies. I'm going to just do two groups one of 4 and the other of 3 because my two males jr and stormy didnt get along well when i tried before and im to scared to try again atleast not for awhile. But so far its going really well. I cant do 24/7 bonding because of work so im just doing a little each day. Aww your twins look just like my Evie 🥰❤️
What breed is Bertie?
Did you sit there for 13 hours or tak breaks
Sat there all the time 🙈
I hate robin
This was very helpful, thank you taking the time to share your process and your beautiful babies 💕
I'm on day 5 of bonding my 2 boys with my new little lady. She has no desire to interact with them! Boy 1 licks her which she will tolerate for a short while before she moves away. Boy 2 has struggled to accept her and at first (I did 6 weeks of playdates before the 24/7 method) he would lunge and bite her. Now he wants to sit with her but she runs off. On day 2 girl bun licked boy 2 (she has never licked any of them until this point), so it seemed progress was made however she won't stay near either boy for long. She just doesnt seem to want to interact although they are all now tolerating eachother. Do I just wait until they start connecting?
This makes me wonder as well, if dutch rabbits are the problem! I have a girl dutchie myself and she's SO dominant! I'm getting her a partner in the coming weeks so hopefully she likes him. This gives me hope for her dominant behavior!!
I also have a dutch rabbit he's also very dominant so i think its something for dutch rabbits, i'm bonding him tommorow !
Same. My Dutch guy is the most aggressive of my 4. He was the hardest to bond.
Wow it's not easy to bond rabbits. Good job. I have a single bunny he was born a single kit and I pretty much have to be his bunny ! He's special needs and bonded also with our cat!
