Wow I can see it was a challenge to bond 4 rabbits together. When I bonded my male-female to a 3rd female, I sat with them and sprayed water if anyone attacked and slowly they came to like each other. It's definitely hard work but good job keeping at it!
Hi ♥️ I’m trying to bond male-female to a male. 🥺 and I must say, the first time was amazing. They were super sweet, and now the second time the female bite the newest male 🥲
What inspired you guys to get a 3rd? Everyone around me advises me to stick to pairs
Wow! I’m struggling to bond male and female , just 2! It’s been longer than 1 month
I've never seen rabbits fight before. I didn't know they stomped on each other like that. You did a great job separating them when they were fighting! Your buns are all so cute. I'm a new sub!
Hey!! New subscriber here. First I’ll start off by saying it’s so great to find another black woman bun mom like myself. I have to make Rex rabbits that I’m going to start bonding soon and I’m super nervous but seeing your videos has really gave me to confidence to go forward with it and now I’m excited.
Even when angry they’re so cute
I am definitely not the only one who's obsessed with buns!😁❤(I am definitely subbing!)
I bonded a trio by using the aggresive ones fear of hard flooring to look for comfort in the new bunny instead of attempting to attack. A lot of people might be against stress bonding but throwing paws its how they decide the hierarchy of the herd. When the fight goes both ways and its rolling full on claws then you separate for a while.
You did a great job trying to keep calm and realising there was something you had to do with basil. I did sooo many things wrong with my trio that's why it went so unsuccessful. I've successfully bonded 2 pairs of Rabbits and bonding my last pair today! It's going to be the hardest as there both males and have past of fighting but my others don't and are male and female pairs! X
When it gets into that bad of fighting, you gotta separate them asap. You don't want them traumatizing each other out of a potential bond. I've never been a fan of just throwing animals together and hoping they work it out, since it's just asking for an injury, but a lot of bunny channels seem to preach it, for some reason. (Not that this channel is, I'm glad you took it down a notch and respected their pace.) It's better to make a calm environment for them and set them up for success by taking it super slow! Bonding without being related isn't usually a natural behavior, after all. Your buns are super cute by the way! I've been bonding my two rabbits and it's going pretty well so far, but wish me luck as well!
Yeah fights like this can cause them to have negative memories and possibly hate each other and never be bonded.
I just got a bunny 4 weeks ago and I still haven’t introduced them in the same cage. They’re next to each other in separate dog exercise pens (my first bun is free roam so she hates it but I have to because I don’t want them to nip each others noses if she stuck her nose through his dog exercise pen). They had about 2 inches of space between each pen so no noses could be nipped but now they’re side by side and just started doing small 1x1 grid cage bonding no food no litter box etc so no territorial fights break out yet. Last week I was giving them each others soiled litter boxes and each other’s toys and blankets so they could get used to the smell, and now also just started putting them in each other’s enclosures like I switched them.
I will slowly increase space as I see fit but will do this very slowly like I probably will take another 2-3 months before I let them become fully bonded and free roamed together permanently. Obviously if they’re bonding faster I’ll go at their pace but I will not force and put them together this quickly because I also don’t want to deal with fights and possibly expensive vet bills 🤣
@@valentinafk6536 This is pretty much what I'm doing, as well! They already had a neutral meet-and-greet when I adopted the second one, and there wasn't any real violence, just a bit of bullying. (Mounting) So hopefully I don't have to take it TOO slow, but I'm trying not to rush it, either. I have a studio apartment so one bun is taking up my kitchen right now, which kinda sucks. XD
I tried to bond a neutered male with a neutered couple but they hated each other and would fight really bad so I couldn't leave them even one minute together.
I love that you tried different ways it was great to see this. Thanks for sharing!
I love your bunny enclosure!
Btw when buns put heads together it means they are sorry or they love each other or both!
I got 4 bunnies.❤
I had success bonding two aggressive rabbits by starting with a small neutral space and increasing the space when they were calm together for two hours this way I bonded them in 2 days. They were not separated until they were bonded
Yes I heard not to leave one in carrier, if one went in and fought it’s be hard to get out!! Thanks for sharing common mistakes and good things
Just a tip for bonding, I wouldnt really recommand putting a litterbox and all the other stuff you have in that pen due to the fact that another rabbit can claim that spot wich gives them more items to be territorial of wich can lead to more fighting, also would recommand making the pen a bit smaller
My girlfriend (and I by default) are bonding 2 rabbits...this is an entire new world for me. I've only owned predators. 2 dogs and a cat currently, so rabbits are a whole new thing. Its hard for me to do because my dogs are huge so if they fight i can pretty much use all my force to break them up. These things are so fragile but are aggressive. 😐 this is a new and weird experience for sure. Not one Ill be looking to do again any time soon lol
I can relate to this entire comment! Lol!! It’s an odd situation to be in when bonding rabbits. This was one of the reasons why I was so nervous. Bonding the two pairs separate was breeze (because they were bunnies) but when I got all four together…😬
You have to keep all rabbits separated they all fight each other starting at 8 months old sometimes sooner
What type of rabbit is the black & white one with the long hair around his head? We just got a one year old rabbit like that and he’s aggressive. They didn’t know the breed, but we think he is a lionhead.
Hi! Where did you get your rug from? I've been trying to find a rug my buns will take a while to tear up.
Hey! We are a military family and there is a store called the Exchange on the base. But it is just a cheap rug, you can probably find a durable rug from a garden store or a super store! It’s always the cheaper ones that are a little rougher and they have a harder time ripping up.
What kind of bunny is the shorthair orange one with the black spot on its side? My adopted bun looks just like that (body, ears, face) except he is very light grey and orange and Ive been trying to figure out his breed.
Why didn’t take the aggressive bunny out to cool down
Hi! I’m just wondering where you got your carriers from? I’m definitely in need of one that opens from the top.
Hey! I live in Germany right now and there’s a store called Fressnapf. That is where I got it from. I will try to find a link similar to the one I havefor you ☺️
what about 3 individual un neutered males? ive got a 3 year old male, a 1 year old male, and an 8 week old male. im 14 and im trying to save up to get them all fixed but i want to try and bond all 3 starting with the older 2
I’d like to bond my parent rabbits with their two babies but I don’t think I could since my rabbit wasn’t a really great mom and bit her son’s spine leaving him with pigeon toed legs(he’s fine, big and healthy. He just walks like me with a weird gait.)
Omg basils a fighter
Helllooo!! Cute bun buns!! I have a question as im trying to bond two rabbits together and maybe get a third rabbit if my mother lets me lol. Does it matter about the size or the breed?? I have a new zealand and holland lop. Im new to the bonding process and trying to do a lot of research before i decide to bond them. I did put their cages near each others so they can get used to each others scent. Also please give me some tips on how i could safely bond them without one of them getting hurt. Thank you!!!
The breed doesnt matter but its usually easiest to bond a male and female together (spayed and neutered of course)
What are the genders and ages?
Very important info
I’m about to bond my fourth into my existing trio! Although I’m starting with a very small space to reduce risk of chasing.
Interesting to watch x
I also start with a WAY smaller area and then gradually give them space the more they prove they will get along. I have a trio too and am about to bond in a fourth. 2 bondings in one year 🤣
Are you rabbits all the same gender? I am trying to bond four as well .There are two males that are fixed and two females .
I Need a update video on how there doing please I’m trying to bond my four buns
I am sorry I’ll edit today! ❤️ I took a little break to really focus of their bonding! I’ll try to have an update video by tomorrow!
I had a bounded pair of 1 male and 1 female and I just had a new female baby but my 1 year old female doesn't accept her 😭
Bazel is female?
what I would do is take everything out of the enclosure even the rug that way they dont fight over claiming things and also so they cant get traction to jump and fight maybe try it out
This is a really great suggestion! I read this last night and tried it this morning. Well I took everything out but the rug because I had to clean it first. However, after I took everything out but the rug they started to get along as I was cleaning!!
And the enclosure it way to bigz, they need to start small or else bunnies will cslim corners and become a nightmarep
Basils an instigator lmao
I’m so scared to bond mine . They’re quite aggressive towards each other. I’m planning to stress bond but I’m scared they’ll both get hurt!
Hey!! How did it go? I decided to get a third bunny and my other two hate him so much
Stress bonding is generally not a good idea, imo. It creates only negative associations with each other. Maybe try looking up some positive reinforcement methods like table bonding?
@@littlekitsune1 I tried this! Not good they hate each other, instantly see each other as a threat. I have separated them from sight and smell for a while and will try force cuddles / table bonding again later on in the year🥲
i dont feel like its the best idea to bond 4 rabbits together, i have 4 rabbits and always kept them in twos, a bonded pair of 2 is always the best option, mostly because it creates ALOTT of stress for your rabbits, and some can even end up in injuries and be aware if you did bond these rabbits, 1 will always get picked on, i tried doing this and my rabbits leg had to be amputated
How many of these bunnies or male and female?
@@bunteathyme9398 this is what I have I was worried the combination of 3 boys and 1 girl wouldn’t work x
@@bex1610 yep ur right, espieclly trying to bond 3 males, cause males are very territorial espiecly when neutered
Why were you not sitting in there with them? If they're each bonded to you and have trust in you then it would have eased their minds and the interactions would have been a bit less hectic I believe.
That being said, I have been very lucky in that mine have been handled since very early in life and don't mind being picked up and even going places in town. I set down a soft sided carrier and say "let's go!" And he runs toward his litterbox, goes potty and then gets In the carrier, and we go wherever..
we want rabbit fight
I’m not being mean to you but you probably know by now that you didn’t start this bonding process right at all. lol!
i will love to watch them fight all day
"He chose violence that day." 😂😂😂
