    Here's tips for people. 1) you can harvest bears with stone knife, 2) don't bother hunting buffalo until you have a iron knife, 3) levels don't mean anything other than the exp you gain, 4) sneak shot wolves to get most efficient use out of your bow, 5) don't bother getting the first oxidizer it's a waste, 6) if being attacked by a bare jump into the water or run diagonal as it attack (some call it kiting), 7) place the torce in your light slot it free up your hands while still providing light, 8) I have more tips but for now that should be good

      just run at the bear, straight at it. don't hesitate. it will miss its attack animation, and you can get some distance and be able to turn around and get a headshot off before its close again (rinse and repeat)

      Mostly agree except for #3 - Your level determines how many talent points you have available to 'focus' your character. It also determines how many blueprint points available. Without blueprint points (and in some cases, high enough level) you will suffer and most likely die. Without a knife, bow, arrows and camp fire it is highly unlikely you will ever make it to Tier 2...

    .Small list for ya Z1 - *Levels don't mean as much as you might think. *Stealth head shotting boars & wolves way higher than your own level is very much possible. *Which leads me to "Stealth kills" for bonus damage. * Stand on tall rocks so you can kill things like the crocs without them reaching you . Crafting & Skinning benches ASAP - better bow + bone arrows will help alot and skinning table nets you more meat, fur, leather etc than just skinning on the spot.

    • @SuperNoodles1982
      @SuperNoodles1982 Рік тому +3

      @Corné van den Bosch that's fair enough, but early gane you need a lot of the mats, especially with crafting clothes and beds etc.. After that, when you kill an animal just take the meat, leaving the other materials on the carcass and they will disappear 😉 that way you don't have to store it

    • @JohnnosaurusREX
      @JohnnosaurusREX Рік тому

      @@GenieonWork It is crucial in time saving. The skinning bench is the second bench always build (need the crafting bench to craft it). The recources needed are trivial (funnily enogh the leather is by far the most anoying to come by).
      You need it only for a couple of minutes, but the yields from everything other than bones are huge to get the base started. Even skinning a freaking rabit gives you 20 Leather and guaranteed soft meet (knife only has a 10% chance to get any soft meat) to get your food buffs going. You can't get any leather via knife. So even building it, skinning a single rabit and destroing the bench is already beneficial, since you get half your materials back.
      Two Chamois and you have enogh fur (2x 10) for a bedroll. With a knife you get 50% chance of 0 fur and 50% to get 1 or 2. Especially in a group it takes forever to get enogh bedrolls for an entire group.
      So you usualy just need it to skin a handfull of 5 animals, but that saves you a lot of time hunting. Then you can break it and even get half your stuff back.

    Z1 love the videos and content, they are super helpful with information. I have played Icarus since day one and love this game and have almost 150 hours of gameplay but on Black Friday steam sale I got Satisfactory and I have over 200hrs now so I am really liking the gameplay. I have been watching all of your first videos of satisfactory and it’s awesome to see how the game has changed.

      Satisfactory is such an amazing game. I really like TotalXclipse's satisfactory videos, tons of super good informational vids. RoboKast has some really good ones too, If I'm not mixing things up he has done some great videos on compact factory challenges that I have taken inspiration from for very compact, efficient and good looking factory building setups.
      TotalXclipse, Z1 and StudleyKansas all have videos on logistics of Main Bus designs if you havent experimented with that yet. If I remember correctly, I liked the way Studley explained the theory and implementation the most. Bus makes everything seem really neat and organized, I'm very proud of my bus system in my main world. I recently stopped playing though, got burnt out.

    best is to build your base attached to the side of a cliff as then no animals can get to you. Use the beams to provide support underneath. angle them to attach to the rock face. Use ramps to get up and down. When the storms approach and you are away from your base find a large rock then crouch and use your pick to hack your way inside. this will then give you protection agianst the storm

    • @ownzies100
      @ownzies100 Рік тому

      I havent played this, can you mine into cliff faces? Or just into rocks? When you say angled beams, do you mean you can place beams at 45 degrees? Is this as structurally sound ingame as vertical beams? Is structural integrity even a mechanic other than simple HP?
      Seems pretty neat. I was hyped for this game at release solely because Dean Hall and the amazing experiences ArmA 2 DayZ mod provided back in the day, but I didnt think I'd like the mission gameplay loop and dismissed it. Now that there is open world I'm considering trying it out!
      Thanks

    • @bumblebee4187
      @bumblebee4187 Рік тому

      @Justin Durrant no you can't mine into cliff faces.. when you go to place the beams if you press r you will see the different options. I usually build a vertical beam down then attach a horizontal beam from the cliff face to that beam ..keep repeating till you have a frame work supporting the base. Yes structural integrity is a thing and pieces will break if not supported properly. The open world is fine for solo play but if you are in a group the person who started the game has to be hosting it for any of the others to be able to play. Before you could host the mission yourself and carry on if the original person wasn't on.

    Always go for those stealth headshots. Found head shots with spear to the crocs is best way to kill them or you can also just out run them. @@ownzies100 the one in the lake is underwater. You do have to swim to it. Caves will give you pneumonia unless you use a dehumidifier to lessen the effects. There are certain caves that as long as you don’t go too far into them you will still be protected from outside but you won’t get the pneumonia. On the original map there is actually one that has a lot of ore and doesn’t act like a cave at all and there are no worms.

You should watch some vids so you can learn what you don't know (there is a lot since you last played including a store where you can buy better gear/armor/suits/weapons at the character screen before you come down to the planet). Hope you come back to the game, it's really a fun and challenging game. use the "control button" when your aiming to put yourself into "stealth mode" which will make your shots twice as powerful.(even with the stone arrows, a head shot will kill wolves). Well thats why you dont want build near the lakes. Aligators are very hard to kill. Bear is ok, slow in the water, big head to hit, but aligators are not so easy.

    The only thing I still complain about it renewable ores and creature spawns away from the host.

      Ores and resource don't respawn in open world anymore or missions only in outposts. But open world you can go across whole map and every cave if you want and can survive the challenge, World bosses do respawn and animals in open world. and can only mine exotics in missions. (I not got to point of running a mission from open world to see if it just adds that to open world map or takes you to mission map yet.) so not sure about respawns after missions on/in open world or not.

    • @ReaperQueenOfChaos
      @ReaperQueenOfChaos Рік тому +1

      @@KiwiNotPG7873 yep I know about stuff not respawning that’s why it’ll be a complain for me. The missions in open world are just around the map you don’t actually go anywhere. I like the idea of setting up deep mins that don’t deplete which would make respawns irrelevant.

      @@ReaperQueenOfChaos Yeah finding and making small out posts near each mine node and having to do caravan travel between for more crafting could be fun with multiple players.
