In this video, Simone Caporale from the Artesian Bar gives us a guide on how to make a Mai Tai using The Wild Geese® Golden Rum!
Ingredients:
2 parts of The Wild Geese® Golden Rum
1 part of orange curacao liqueur
1 part of lime
Half part of sugar syrup
Half part of Disaronno
Method:
Pour all the ingredients into a shaker, shake with plenty of ice until cold and strain into a rock glass over ice. - Навчання та стиль
And now, I will proceed to add my whole garden on top of this drink.
idk i think it needs another garnish
FreshmanThesis Tiki drinks 🍹
Rather difficult these days to find a barman that knows how to make a Mai Tai. Fantastic series with the Wild Geese Rum.
This is not how you make a mai tai, keep looking.
Fantastic recipe! I will try this version, especially using Disaronno in place of orgeat. I've made mai tai's following the original Trader Vic's recipe, but I find the rosewater flavor to be too strong from orgeat. Cocktails have come a long way and this looks fantastic.
This is awesome, i don't know how Simone comes up with such great flavor for such a difficult mix, but i wish to have the taste he has... eh.. dreams ....
this guy is great. Been watching several of these videos for a few days now. I wonder if he is still there or what he is doing now, considering how old these videos are and what with corona and all that.
Nice. I love the gorgeous bartender. Very nice.
A short strov.
You sir are a genius, love the explaination of why you make it with Amaretto etc. Mad garnish but I love it.
I would have added some more garnish :)
what, no umbrella?
HE SNIFF EVERYTHING !
Tutto meraviglioso.. ma spero ha cambiato bar spoon per girare il cocktail visto che all'inizio uno se l'è infilato in bocca per assagiare gli ingredienti.
Did he lick the spoon and put it back in to lift the sphere?
no , used different spoon.
Yes !! hahahah the spoon is the same, It looks very good
Why Amaretto you are Italian right ? you guys have Orzata witch is even better that Orgeat i Don't get it .
Si vede da un miglio che sei italiano, l' ho capito da quando ho aperto il video
Does anyone else get kind of asmr triggered watching his practiced movements.
Dont judge me.
kinda yeah
that's why i come here
It looks like you have the basics ideas of a Mai Tai...but not the original recipe. I can understand this a much modern look to a Mai Tai! Well is not the first time I see people trying to "improve" or modefit the drink! But a true Mai tai is simple and less complex:
We first star with...
Our Mai Tai glass- double bucket class
1). 1/4 lime squeeze.
2). 1/2 oz. lemon Jus.
3). 1/2 oz. rock candy(simple syrup).
4). 1/4-more or less oz. almond syrup.
5). and 2 oz. Trades Vic's Royal Amber rum, or (1 oz. of gold rum, and 1 oz. of dark rum).
Ending by: Boston shaker add big scoop of crushed ice, and shake well until shaker gets cool and freeze.
Garnish:
lime shale, and mint!
thats is a traditional original 1944 Mai Tai from Traders Vic's!
Tony Castellon I don't think he tried to "improve" the Mai tai. he just said that this was a easy way to make it. i also don't think it's as simple as you say. which recipe are you referring to, the trader vic's one or the don the beachcomber's?
Now that we're all (predictably) arguing about what makes a proper Mai Tai, I'll submit my fave recipe. I got it from "A Mountain of Crushed Ice / A Month of Mai Tai". For the rums, I used Appleton Estate 12 Year (highly recommended, it is amazing rum), and for the rhum agricole component, I used, believe it or not, Sammy Hagar's Beach Bar Rum. I have yet to try a better Mai Tai, and I've had them at some famous tiki spots. Use the rums I mentioned, follow the recipe, and I promise you will have a world class cocktail!
TRADER VIC`s SANCTIONED RECIPE from Intoxica:
1 oz dark Jamaican rum
1 oz Martinique rum
1 oz fresh lime juice (one lime)
0.5 oz curacao
0.25 oz each of orgeat and simple syrup
Mix all ingredients and shake with ice. Strain into a glass over crushed ice. Garnish with lime shell and a sprig of mint.
Ingredients are on point! Good stuff!
Yaaaaaaaaas, Since the Ray and Nephew is all gone that is a traditional method. A rhum agricole and a full bodied Jamaican rum. I too use Appleton Estate 12 year.
What'd he say?
Recipe is bit different from what he says on video. So.. 2 part rum, 1 part triplesec, 1 part amaretto, halflime(about 20-25ml) and a spoon for rock candy syrup?
So many things wrong with this recipe. Do not use it. Check out the Total Tiki app for a proper recipe.

Vaya macetero
I actually like the Disaronno idea. My bar doesn't have orgeat and that seems like a potential solution to making a more decent mai tai. Our standard recipe is pretty much bullshit.
what about a Piña Colada¡¡?
☝️
hands cocktail!
Floreros¡¡¡
Here you go: makedrinks.org/trader-vics-mai-tai-original/ Defiantly NO Bacardi, use "Jamaican" and "Martinique" rums only
its too much fashionable n the world need is simple maitai........
Is it a garden? 😂
😁😁😁
Looks good ...apart from touching the ice ball with his hands and dosn´t explain that Amaretto is not an Almond Liqueur ...
Too bad for the barspoon lick. I'd expect a classy bartender to use a straw.
Apart from that, I want to try this Mai Tai twist.
No straws wasted, wash the spoon, all's good.
Amaretto? A mai-tai for poseurs. The 1944 recipe can't be beat.
Brah... Don and Vic would roll over in there graves with Disaronno in his drink. the 44 Mai Tai had Orgeat.
What is Orgeat? Almond syrup... and what is Disaronno? Almond Liqueur... the flavour profile will be pretty much identical.
@@anemoia2661 Disaronno doesn't have almonds in it
wrong execution, this is not a mai tai cocktail 🤨
Somethings up with that accent....a mix of Russian and Italian....
so many garnishes :/
Add Some banana watermelon for a fruit salad
God that ounce of lime will not stand up to that amount of sugar
Too much garnish with this guy.
Bazenguera who gives a shit....ha ha
tiki drinks are meant to be extravagant
This guy is so funny :D I still dont like the recipie.
too much is always too much
This guy always overacting
Needs moar English.
Less gibberish.
That is not a mai tai
Plain and simple
Just because you're fancy doesn't mean your right
Read a book learn the recipe
