- Welcome back to another Paladins video! In this one, AndrewChicken explains everything we know so far about the Season 6 PTS that just released! We have a new tank champion Nyx, a major buff to air strafing, midair inaccuracy removed on all champions, many skins and cosmetics including a new Pip skin, and some interesting balance changes! Most importantly of all, Payload is coming back! We can't try it on the PTS yet, but it's in the patch notes, and we'll hopefully be able to try it soon.

With the daily active players growing, to payload being brought back, I think paladins will make a comeback this year. I’m REALLY hoping that this game gets saved

Balance so far is really questionable
Andro no longer have cursed revolver but have dark stalker but it's the wrong one. People want the talent that have seperate dash.
Furia getting heal nerf is yikes. She is strong, but we'll see
Pip getting damage nerf. WHY. He's not even strong.
At least grover can see his own radius and deep roots healing aura now works on first enemy
I want mobility back like how it was in OB40ish

Yeah Andro the flank champion with no flank talent.
I think Nyx's shield should quickly advance forward depending on how far you want to place it, that way her 2nd talent doesn't rely so much on an enemy moving through it when you can force them to go through it yourself
Exactly my thoughts, anyone with a brain will actively avoid the shield, unless you're kinda forced close to her
Her damage mitigation reminds me of Kunkka
Is that like what her F refire and Ult are supposed to be for?
I bet the reason pip got a indirect nerf to his ult is because the devs were sick of seeing pips who are randomly high leveled solo ult someone who's trying to kill them in a 1v1
Which is stupid, because using it to confirm ONE kill on an important enemy character is just as valuable imo

@@Chr0n0s38 this is why they should like stop that cause idk if this is just me but if you solo ult me with pip I instantly get resilience so they shoot themselves in the foot
She actually feels like a point tank, to the point (heh) that she gets more healing on point. So...you got what you asked for.
And no movement ability, a protection,The shiels placent resembles Inara,stun ult, she is pretty much a new Inara wich is nice
I'm pretty sure that Nyx has been teased before Ramattra and it just seems like as soon as hi-rez saw ramattra they just decided to do their own spin on him. Kind of annoying since I thought she would've been more original.
I can see that, yeah. It's specially noticeable when you look at the bugs in her kit
Actually! As someone in the AoC I can happily say her kit and Nyx as a whole has been in development way before Ramattra was shown. This is just a very badly timed release for both characters

I think nyx will become a pretty solid.. I think I see what they are going for with her abilities and can see how they can be used to control the fight while your allies pew pew and you just don't die
I just cannot cope with one thing. Why Kasumi has not been touched?
Re-mounting should only apply at a certain distance from payload. Possible a 150-ish distance. So if you get hit by a stray bullet when leaving spawn you can still mount back on to get back into the fight, but once you're in the fight for point, it's disabled.

@@aland7234that is just inaras wall except it is a normal shield instead of a wall, not really copied, there is never anything 100% original in any games, many overwatch characters can have similar abilities to tf2 abilities.

Im very excited for payload, I heard vet players talk about how good it was and wish I was there but when I got to then end something hit me. If you go into the files or wiki for paladins, most new champs had voice lines that seemed like they were for payload or some weird siege mode. It always bothered me bc I never knew what it was but maybe they were planning to bring it back, its just took them way too long. Still dont know what it was but maybe that was a sign, we just didnt know when. I'm very excited for this new patch and I hope it makes me want to play the game again bc I believe in this game. To a fresh new season for Paladins 🍷
In World of Warcraft, the Monk class's tank spec had something similar to Nyx's damage distribution called Stagger.

Great vid and update...we fans are truly anticipating a successful season 6 launch. Poor Pip, btw. LOL New tank looks interesting, and since I play a lot of tanks will be interested to try her out.
Hey Andrew, love your vids. Did they by any chance fix one of the borders that still had some blacked out areas around it even in the live game cuz its one of ma fav borders but they seem to forget its still bugged lol.
I can’t wait to play on the old maps again! I also wanna see the old versions of maps - e.g. stone keep, returns, even if just in customs!
The new hero looks a lot like the sucubus design from the Persona series. Even her pose is very similar.
I started crying when i read that payload is coming back. All the memories and stuff that happend there. i've grew up with paladins and when they removed payload i almost left paladins but i kept playing hoping that someday they will add it back and that day has come. Im so thankful for bringing it back and i cant wait to play ONLY this mode ❤

I keep having default voice despite having a different skin?? I didn't even tweak anything with the voice packs. All my characters have default voice even with a different skin so idk how to fix that 😟

Solar blessing should create an mid range area aura Around the beam that gives the actual heals in that aura. Aura is halfed range of Mal'Damba's gourd range, for Example.

8:00 on this koga skin, one of my least favorite parts about playing them was the suppressors taking up so much of your field of view. Nice to see a skin without them. I'm sure there are others without them, but Koga is my least played champ, so I wouldn't know xd
now the mount keybind has an actual use, yay
I mean they might be adding the remount to prepare for a potential new gamemode, like a racing gamemode where the players can actually win crystals and loot but said gamemode is only available during certain events.
Remounting used to be a thing a very, very long time ago. It had an animation and wind up so you couldn't just instantly bind onto a horse.
I miss this era of paladins the big maps the different capture points 🥹

I feel like the remounting feature got implemented because they're bringing back payload. I can't imagine the pain of getting hit by a stray bullet or accidentally dismounting yourself on such long maps. Though as a side-effect it also got into regular siege which is going to make master riding INCREDIBLY good. I'd argue that it's even going to become the "new" cauterize where you'll be put at severe disadvantage if you don't buy it. Maxed out master riding is able to get you to the objective on most maps in just a couple of seconds and it was already a worthwhile purchase just for that. Now that you'll be able to move around the map all the time with it and dismounting is not as punishing anymore the fights will last longer and it will be harder to take control of the map since you esentially get faster respawn timers in a sense.
As for the balance changes they seem extremely out of touch. Basically everything that wasn't a problem got nerfed for some reason and Pip won't be able to kill a chicken by himself anymore and that means he's basically been made into a helpless healbot who can't put up much of a fight. Even if you want to cope with catalyst it's simply not worth it and you're better off using Grohk for example if you want a good dps support. It feels like the devs made these changes for the sake of just making some changes and they didn't put much thought into it. Either that or it's one of these dumb "two-part changes" where they nerf a champion in one patch and then give compensation in the next one which is equally as dumb.
I have a question, How much is this event pass gonna cost?, because when i saw the saw Andrews stream it he unlocked it for 700 something rather than the usual 400 but it also had more levels soooo
Nyx opinions: I think the golden skin is great, just the lighting in the champion viewer makes it look really shiny and bright. I think it'll look miles better in game. Also another hot take; if you are not sure of the champ balance, it's way better to release stuff UP instead of azaan or yag state. You can buff up UP champs later but yags and azaans will immediately kill a patch(es) until they are fixed.

Does Nyx's ult at least charge faster than others to give her survivability? Those defenses look just as low as her dps.
Also, mrl datamined 4 gold skins, no idea if they're comming this patch
Do you think that they let us use mounts mid-game, so we can see the skins? Since they removed third-view, skins are only visible at the start of a match.
Third-view gameplay might give an advantage in-game, but using a mount doesn't give the same advantage and keeps players happy.
Will they bring the payload maps back, or just with the regular siege maps

I have the same thing with the frame. I had a platinum 3, but they gave me a gold frame. Maybe this is another bug

I have been convinced for a while that someone in Evil Mojo geniuely hates Pip. Like finally now he got a Epic skin thats actually him after 6 years. Thats even locked behind a ranked wall. As a last jab they nerfed him and killed one of his most used combos.
The ability to remount is for payload since the maps are long, though it should be exclusive to payload in my opinion
She should do the Henry Cavill "arm reload" for her weapon inspect, what a missed opportunity.

She needs piercing for sure and a little more damage. If she's going to be a tank it needs to be dangerous for a flank to get close to her

It’d be really cool if they added a game mode that was death match but they turned into quake, like crazy movement, snipers don’t need to scope in, no movement slows like raum’s main fire, it’d be awesome
