I thought I'd make a a video about this seeing as though axe throwing places are sprouting up everywhere. And as a veteran of throwing axes, knives, shurikens and cards - I'm surprised that people are only finding out about this now?! As always - let me know what else you want explaining to you.
Ninh have you ever heard of and/or thought of doing a video on the Orkney ba’ game? Thought it might interest you. ua-cam.com/video/G-973kUV-sE/v-deo.html
I'm looking at joining a league now - and I questioned their scoring method after watching several competitions on UA-cam. The local AT Club says they follow WATL rules. They are not, as far as I can tell. They do not give credit for the bullseye unless you can see "red" on both sides of the blade. To be clear, "if an axe breaches a line, they are awarded points for the higher value of the ring" is the standing rule, correct? And this rule, is it in writing somewhere so I can show it? Thanks for any help here!
I've been invited to play this game during a stag party of a friend of mine a couple of years ago. I was actually surprised that this sport even existed in the first place, an actually how increasingly popular it was getting : there were quite a lot of people showing at this axe throwing club on a saturday evening. Everybody was just trying this game for spending a fun time during a saturday evening instead of a regular Pool contest at the local bar, but still I was quite surprised to see so many people that were actually so interested in this!
Oh my God, I finally found a sport to take my rage out in a healthy way. Sign me up for this. It's strategic. Good sportsmanship is strongly encouraged which boosts morale. Good Hand-eye coordination and strength is required. And the disciplinary action taken for penalties is quite reasonable (although I'm pretty sure chucking a blunt force object at someone intentionally could be considered attempted murder Lol). My kind of sport. Good work explaining it in a nutshell. It's worth looking into.
Just a note, the axe blade length was changed to 4" (I swear, I'm not mad about it. Really, it's totally fine). Just had to change axes after getting comfortable with one.
Yeah I totally clicked because I wanted to learn about the game...nothing to do with thumbnail. As always great video mate. I always learn something new from your channel.
If anyone wants to try this sport in the UK, I highly recommend going to BOXPARK Wembley at Bad Axe Thowing. I had a good time playing this with my friends.
Nice! ESPN showed the 2019 world championships during the early parts of the covid quarantine. You know, when we were all super hungry for ANY sports. I watched a couple hours in a sitting.
I should share this video with my brother. He loves old-school sports and, since he lives near a major city, he could easily find a place to play this sport!
Are you allowed to have your starting foot behind the 12 foot line but take a step over it with your back foot and releasing the axe before your back foot touches the ground?
Please do a video on Winchester College Football. There are some videos on YT but I can't figure out what is going on. I need your explaining skills. Cheers.
Explain the rules of 3 man and 5 man paintball speedball. NXL Rules and go over the penalties especially, I have issues wrapping my head around them and you’re good at explaining stuff
I think when it looks beat up and when axes start to fall out - that's the time to replace the boards. That said, players can ask for new boards if they feel that playing with it will be detrimental.
It's like a super badass way of playing dards. When this quarantine is over, surely I'll make a wooden target and buy some old rusty axes, they don't need to be Sharp enough.
Can you make a video about the differences of the American League system and European league system. Ex: How in Europe there is promotion/relegation and how in America there isn’t. And how in America there is a draft and in Europe there isn’t
whats the regulation size of the axe targets & why are there so many options advertised as "throwing axes" from bass pro shops & numerous sporting goods retailers that are like 9"-10" long when that's not something that would ever be used at a local axe throwing establishment, exhibition match or in any amateur or professional competition whatsoever? Is there any point whatsoever to buying & using them recreationally or would practicing w something so far removed from the existing standards most likely just hurt your ability to throw accurately when it counts & hinder your skill building> Thanks
As a sport or game it is very similar to darts or archery. Basically the best players can repeat the same skill over and over with as little deviation in the throwing process as possible. It is fun at first but becomes rather dull after you get the basics down.
Ninh Ly have you heard of the sport "cestoball"? Also do you have any thoughts on why the England and Great Britain women's basketball teams gets absolutely no media coverage despite being quite good, with good results in Commonwealth Games and EuroBasket respectively?
I have. As for UK Basketball, I had a video on why Basketball sucks in the UK, which has between blocked in the UK for defamation (allegedly). You can view it if you're in any other part of the world.
@@NinhLyUK thanks for the reply. I think there is a conspiracy against basketball in the UK. Cestoball, I have only just discovered. It looks like a good sport. Popular in Argentina but also growing in India.

Ringen tournaments will typically consist of two phases, one of those being elimination rounds. Wherein fighters will wrestle in a double elimination bracket. Elimination brackets will be fought until a fighter scores 2 throws or until the 3 minute timer runs out. And the second phase are the final rounds, wherein fighters will wrestle until one has scored 3 throws. An adjusted time limit or point cap will be set according to schedule day of the competition Another important thing about ringen tournaments is the weight distribution, there will typically be 5 weight classes in which fighter can compete with a maximum of 8 fighters per weight class. A fighter may wrestle in any weight class as long as he/she the maximum allowed for that weight class. The weight classes usually consists of lightweight (under 140lbs), welterweight (under 160lbs), middleweight (under 180lbs), light heavyweight (under 200lbs) And heavyweight (over 200lbs) The Open weight class is available to all fighters, although fighters already not competing in a lighter category will be given preference during registration. Fighters will also be required to register their weight before they can compete and cannot exceed the maximum allowed weight for their selected weight class. If a fighter is overweight for his weight class then he will ve placed in a higher weight class. And then there is the required equipment which usually consists of a durable jacket which cannot be open for any reason and the zipper will be taped dow. Pants, athletic attire is allowed like sweatpants, gym or board shorts, fencing knickers, and leggings. Footwear, no shoes or socks will be worn during the competition. Optional gear, groin piece, mouthguard, soft protection for joints, and head/ear protectn

Throwing your axe when someone is in the lane should probably also result in you getting charged with attempted murder imo
Probably yeah.
Or manslaughter depending wether or not you had a killing intent or were just acting recklessly
Any rules on showing up intoxicated? Cuz here in the good ole U S of A most of these ax throwing places serve alcohol.

Could you do one on Goalball? It’s a Paralympic sport specifically for the blind.
There are a few axe throwing courts here in Reno. One downtown and another at the GSR.
