What a surprise to see you doing this awesome song! It is so powerful that sometimes I just have to listen to it several times in row. There’s a bunch of symbolism like the black balloons being his dark thoughts and anxieties. He’s got quite a story and a huge fan base who I’m sure will be headed your way with all kinds of recommendations.

Man Jamel, I am glad you did this! You always say you are here to keep good music alive. Well, NF created REAL MUSIC! His message and life is an incredible testimony, and his skill is amazing. I hope you will go down the NF journey to see how he has grown and the effect he is having in people’s life and the hip hop world. A song where he really raps against typical “rap culture” is Remember This. It will really resonate with you and your last sentence here. Let’s do this brother!

As you have seen people mention the “NF Journey”. Nate has been delt a real messed up deck of cards when it comes to his life since he was a kid. Start with his 1st album and go forward. You also mentioned there were no curse words. Nate also believes that curse words are not necessary in music to get the message across. His music is amazing.

  • @krw73
    @krw73 3 роки тому +9

With the depth of music that you feel, he will turn into your favorite rapper because he doesn't curse, doesn't care about the rap game or pretend to be somebody else, and he wraps about real life and relatable things like mental health and overcoming fears in life.

Leave me alone, Therapy session, Mansion, all I have are great songs. Paid my Dues is a good one, it's his response to an article Rolling Stone magazine wrote trashing him. A really sad one is How could you leave us which is about losing his mom to pill addiction. Cant wait to see more NF reactions from you!

Explanation of balloons and shopping cart.this video was filmed in Iceland. He had the cage in background from his outcast song. That represents his mind.
Also he co directs and co produces his videos with patrick tohill.
Within the video for “The Search” NF gestures to his black balloons while stating: “Grabbin’ my keepsakes, leavin’ my burdens/Well, I brought a few with me, I’m not perfect,” indicating that the balloons are symbolic of the problems that continue to plague him in spite of his growth. The black balloons are his burdens.
For the shopping cart part- he had the cage in background as an egg in search song from outcast song video from his perception album. the cage represents his mind-(he also tours with the cage)
NF brings the cart everywhere he goes, perhaps using the vehicle as a smaller, more portable version of the cage he once kept himself in. Considering the similar structure of the cart, it seems possible that the artist uses the cart when his feelings of entrapment return. In the closing moments of the video for “The Search,” NF climbs into the cart, folding up into the fetal position. While NF left the Perception outcast song cage behind, reaching a new pinnacle of success in the process, he continues to face feelings of fear, doubt, and pain just as any of us.

And the NF journey begins!!!! Next song should be Leave me Alone since you already listened to The Search. It’s a continuation. His song Why should be after Leave me alone. After that I would suggest going to the beginning and start with Intro from his Mansion album. Someone should be sending you the entire list to follow because it all connects. You will understand everything better. For example, the black smile on his face that he was wiping away at the end of When I grow up. The black balloons which are his burdens. I just went to his concert a few weeks ago for the second time. It was amazing!!! Welcome to the NF journey!! Looking forward to more reactions to him.

You're comprehension skills are on point. I think you nailed the intent of the song. Most people are still just sitting and processing the whole first time they hear this. I know I was a bit stunned and it took a few listens to really key in. Not only death to the old me, which is a common theme for NF as a Christian, but finding his true self and his best self...understanding his demons and weaknesses. If everyone in the world was humble enough to do even a few minutes of this type of self-evaluation the world would be much better for it.
It blows my mind how deep NF is. There are so many songs that aren't comparable to anything else. Eminem did self-reflection sometimes but always tongue in cheek or with a smart-ass twist. Nothing real, naked and honest like NF. And you don't get the impressions that Eminem was ever doing it to improve. He was about survival and wasn't concerned about progressing emotionally or psychologically. He wanted to improve his physical surroundings, pimp his reality, then be content.

  • @jabsluna
    @jabsluna 3 роки тому +1

So happy you're reacting to NF! Hope you take the entire journey. You will be amazed. Not only does he not cuss, which is impressive, he does not degrade women, or glorify drugs, violence, money, etc. He isn't vulgar, and in rap, that's like eliminating half your vocabulary. Idk of many rappers who can create an entire song without using meaningless filler lines. Everything NF does has meaning. Deep meaning.
    Much love

I've been listening to nothing but Rap and R&B since about 1989, and I thought for sure my top 10 list was set in stone because it hasn't changed in a lot of years. But I discovered NF about a year ago, and I was so impressed with the first song I just ended up going on a binge where I listen to all four of his albums that he had out at the time all in the very same day. A week later I had him already knocking people off of my top 10 list that I never thought would change. With him continuously dropping music since then, he's moved his way up to number 4 on my list even competing for number 3. He is by far one of the most versatile artist I've ever heard in any music genre, the flow and rhyme patterns that you hear in one song you may never hear again. And just when you think that he's got to be running low on flows and cadences, he will drop a new song where he switches flow and cadence about six or seven times in that one song all of which he's never used before. And you got to pay attention to the visuals to, because he puts as much thought in the subliminals and references in the visuals as he does in his lyrics.

This is for anyone new who may want to take the NF journey as we call it because he intertwines his music like marvel movies.
All four albums is like a connected series. For instance in his when i grow up song, paid my dues, leave me alone, and why song, the black smile is the fake smile that he mentions in therapy session song.
He hides eggs in his videos. In when i grow up song there was two hidden eggs in that song. A black balloon by the trash cans and in burger joint he grabbed at receipt that had the date and time of when his song time was being released. He had outcast name tag on in the janitor part from his Outcast song. Another example is in the search song he had cage in background he rapped in from his outcast song.
    Here is the song order:
    Mansion Album:
    All I have (video)
    Intro (video)
    Mansion
    Wake Up (video)
    Paralyzed
    Notepad (video)
    Therapy Session Album:
    Intro 2 (video)
Therapy Session (video) Very important song.
    I just wanna know (video)
How could you leave us-(video) have tissues nearby.
Real song- (video) he pays homage to lil wayne in this song feed me rappers or feed me beats)
    Grindin ft Marty (video)
Oh Lord- this song gets referred to in returns two albums later. Great song
Statement (he pays homage to eminem and drake in this song)
Warm Up -single (hype song) (video)
Epiphany- collab with futuristic. Video. Pays homage to meek mill.
Green lights (video) pay attention to what he has written on the notepad at the end.
    Perception Album:
Outro (video) pay attention to the video. It is like marvel endgame how he connects tons of previous videos in this.
Intro 3 (one of his best songs)
    Outcast (video)
Know- pays homage to eminem and 21 pilots
    Destiny
    One hundred
Let you down (video) watch to the very end!
    If you want love (video)
Remember this- 💎 Gems all over this track
Single: No Name. (Video) This gets connected in leave me alone song an album later.
Single: Why- (video) NF pays big homage to Big Sean as he uses his flow from bounce back in this and mentions Big Seans name and his album I decided. (This isnt nates flow he says)
Also he has a ton of eggs like Dont mess with real music written on walls. Pay attention to all the writing. Additionally, Big Sean paid homage back in harder than my demons song he had the black balloons in it among other things
    Search Album:
Whole album should be listened to but you can choose which you would like to do:
    The search (video)
    When I grow up (video)
    Leave me alone (video)
    Change
    My stress
    Nate
    Time (video)
Returns- (hype song) one of his best for flow switches and word play
    Only
    Let me go
Interlude then I hate myself song
    I miss the days
    No excuses (hype song)
    Like this
    Options (hype song)
    Thinking
    Trauma singing only song. Amazing
    Paid My Dues (video)
It was to the awful article rolling stones put out because the writer was a big chance the rapper fan and was pissed NF took number one spot. Over 400 people bashed that writer in the comments lol
Chasing -demo he did with a fan.
    Clouds the Mixtape-
    Clouds (video)
    Lost ft Hopsin (video)
    Story (video)
That’s a Joke (pays homage to J Cole)
    Just like you
    Prideful
    Layers
    Drifting
    Trust ft Tech N9ne
Also there is many good songs not on this list like Dreams, you’re special ect if you like him then take the time and go back through and listen through them all at some point.
His lost in the moment song was just used for the promo for the new show called the equalizer starring Queen Latifah.

There aren’t to many people out there that can match this kid lyrically. All of his videos are like movies. And as you notice, he does not swear in ANY of his songs and he also talks about how he will not degrade women. Like I said, I challenge anyone out there to find someone that can challenge this kid. I also quit listening to a lot of rap because all they talk about is cars, jewelry, and disrespecting women. Like you said, that gets real old after awhile. This kid is a breath of fresh air for rap music.

I had to do a double take when I saw you were reacting to NF! 😮😅 I’m so used to you listening to the classics, I couldn’t wrap my mind around this for a second LOL. I would love to listen to some of the rap classics with you one day. And reminisce about the golden age of rap. 🥰🥰🥰

WHAT????????? Jamel reacting to NF????? This day has FINALLY come! NF is my favorite!! Next song that directly follows this one is called "Leave Me Alone" and you will see he is continuing his journey and then you will get more info about him and this message from that song. Now as for more songs to follow:
    Why
    No Name
And then react to all the songs on his newest release "Clouds The Mixtape". Every song is amazing!!
NF writes about his feelings and what is happening in his real life... his label is NF Real Music and that's because he is all about being real. No money, women, drugs or even cussing in his music. Just raw emotions and passion. You're gonna love him bro!

One of my favorite reactors meets one of my favorite artists. This is going to be awesome. I'm begging you to start at the beginning with the Mansion album and do intro, mansion, etc. His albums are chronologically a story and if you jump around you'll miss hidden clues from other songs and it won't make sense.
