When I saw the video length of 27:49 I almost skipped watching. But after starting to watch the video that 27:49 went by quickly! That's because Shawn is very good at editing and made this duck hunting adventure video entertaining from start to finish. Bravo to Shawn for a great job!
Same here! When I saw the length, at first I was going to put off watching it. But I decided to watch it anyway. And I'm glad I did! The editing was really great. I felt like I was really there.
18:2218:3518:4319:11 😂 i love how everyone was talking about how great the hunt went and then shawn just turns the camera on himself and smiles with a look that says crap i forgot my lines🤣
Those puddle jumper planes make my sphincter go super tight. I’ve had to fly on them for my job a couple of times, and the ride can be *really bumpy* when it’s windy. 👀 *Thanks for sharing this incredible hunt with us, Shawn!!!* The ducks are absolutely beautiful!
Alaska bush pilots are crazy. They fly little bitty tail-draggers and there's video of them landing in forest clearings and then taking back off from them. By comparison puddlejumpers feel like big sturdy jetliners!
Thanks very much for sharing your hunt! I'm happy (and envious) for you being able to make such an extreme hunt. Do you think that you will be able to go to Argentina for a duck hunt? I have heard that Argentina has wonderful hunting, especially ducks.
As someone who is originally from Anchorage, haven’t been back in five years, seeing someone have a real Alaskan experience, wildlife, hunting, I could care less about the cold 😂, but honestly I’m so glad you got to have that experience!! A little recommendation, if anyone plans to go to Alaska, if you want a real Alaska experience, don’t go to Anchorage, that’s basically the town of Alaska. I recommend Seward or Homer, especially the fishing there!!
Very cool video! I normally go open water hunting for Eider Ducks here in Denmark, but have never tried to hunt king eider before! I love duck hunting on the open water, so a trip like this defiantly needs to be added to my bucket list!
Awesome video, Shawn! Those seas looked intense, but you and the guys prevailed. Maybe in a future video, you could show us your taxidermy collection? 🦆
That was a really interesting video and something different from your usual videos. Thanks for shining your adventure, I now know that there are such a thing as sea ducks, something I never knew before.
That made me cry. What an incredible dream of a life time!! SO happy You got to go. Happy You will have the duck mounted to remember always! Your kids are adorable! Thank You for sharing them. I have only seen the younger boy enjoying the nutria; now I know why. 😉 a couple others are not as adventurous as their Dad. But that's OK. The world is not ready for more of You Shawn. You da Man!! More blessings upon You & Yours!!
Lived in Alaska for over a decade. Lots of low-budget hunts and fishing expeditions. Wouldn't trade those experiences for the world. You had a great time on a high-risk hunt. Of all that Alaska has to offer, I enjoyed Silver Salmon (Coho) the most. Great fighting fish and great tasting smoked or baked. Halibut tastes better, but isn't as fun to catch. Like dredging up sheets of plywood from the ocean floor. I've taken hundreds of geese, spruce hens, and ducks, but fish are really where my heart is.
Shawn, this was your best video to date, thanks for sharing the trip. I can’t believe these guys go out in the cold, rough seas in Zodiacs! You mentioned hunting from Maine to Florida, not sure if you’ve hunted in NJ, but there are ducks in the bays of the barrier islands. I’m guessing these are considered salt water ducks. I rarely watch long videos, but the pace and editing kept things moving. Thank you!
What a great adventure! Thanks for bringing us along. I love duck but have never had anything like that King Eider. We normally make a duck & sausage gumbo with it. My favorite!
If you go to Utah next year for Swan then see if you can get a Sandhill crane tag as well. There are thousands of Sandhill Cranes all over the place when you get away from the city.
As someone who has been seasick on a couple of occasions I thoroughly enjoyed watching your video👍but also crossing off one hunting trip that I will not be participating in😂
Shawn your family is growing up so fast. I've been watching a lot of Outdoor Boys UA-cam Channel lately so this was a pleasant and welcome surprise. Perhaps you and Luke could work out some sort of collaboration in the future. As you know I'm up for anything your doing. Cheers and God Bless.
@@phoenix-rising-86I know the man that has them. 1 of 4 aviaries that has them privately. He is who zoos buy their birds from and lots of research is done with his incredible collection.
Ya even got to be the dog and get the birds from the water 😂 When i was a kid I used to get to play the dog and chase out the rabbits and go get the birds 😂🤣
Love, love your channel. What do you do with the other parts of the duck? I saw you had some breast meat and other parts, but they seem so small compared to the size of the duck. Did you discard the rest?

@@Harrier42861 - I *totally* believe you, dude… But, I didn’t consider this as some sort of internet plane-balz contest..
Been many years since I've had King Eider (or Eider). Grew up in Nuuk, Greenland.
Man, those waves are crazy! I don't see how you guys could even find the birds in the water.
What a trip! Always neat to see what is on people's bucket list. Glad it went well for you.

That's amazing content, Shawn. Would definitely appreciate more like that.
Love your vids bro. True outdoors man
VEGANS WILL LOVE THIS!
Thought the same thing. May look like a downright devil ritual when they sit at the table and eat a piece all at once lol.
Nah this crazy 💀
Is that the NES duck hunt duck? Pretty cool
Wow, this video is amazing. The best one you’ve ever made. Had to watch it twice! Congratulations on your success.
Explains why my King Eider restaurant never took off.
This is incredible! What an awesome experience, thanks for sharing :)

Congratulations. Kids are honest. God bless your adorable family.

Congratulations Shawn on getting to go on an adventure of a lifetime.

Awesome content Shawn. Hope you can make more vids like these in the near future.
Would you also consider doing some rewilding / species reintroduction videos with some NGOs in your area?
Well done. Nice to see the family. Walk in Spirit.
Awesome hunt! That's a lot of effort and not just shooting the birds but the experience of the environment and location.

Most of the time I watch a video and after I hit like. Not now. No, I was barely after 30 sec, and boom, I gave a like already.
WHAT??!! Congrats man!!!
Awesome hunt!!!! Way to go! Looked like so much fun! Thanks for sharing!
Very nice. What a special hunt! Waves were huge!
Great video! Very interesting to see a trip of a lifetime followed up by a family cookout.
Very raw perspective.
Congrats! Didn't know this was a thing, awesome video

I live in Utah and have Sandhills in my backyard all the time, in the city with a small green space
That rough water in the tiny boat scares the begeezus outta me.😮 Won't be eider hunting any time soon! Glad you had a good hunt, though!
Great video .. Tanks .. 🙂👍🥂 ... Cheers .
Great video shawn, looks like so much fun
You’re a great storyteller.
Great stuff. Always enjoy your stuff in addition to your mouse trap material.
These kingeider ducks nest here in, Ulukhaktok, Northwest Territories Canada, on Victoria Island. In my language they are called kingaliks 😂
They're nesting right now 😊 they migrate here in big bunches along the coast line where the ice cracks are on the ocean (Beaufort sea)
more duck hunt adventures please
what beautiful scenery. Watching you on the boat was making me seasick.
I got 2 when I lived in Alakanuk , Alaska. It's right on the Bering sea. I didn't know what it was when I got it but looked it up when I got home.
Beard is doing incredibly well, Shawn! Knew that it would!
Wow , Awesome hunt, nice shooting!!
have a great day
This was wonderful to see thank you for sharing such a wonderful thing

I just about had a heart attack when I thought you were going to pluck that bird. Thank God, you had it mounted.
Thanks for the adventure with you
Did you figure up what that meat cost per pound ?
Amazing hunt, thanks for sharing.
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing! :)
That’s awesome!
We had a hundreds of Cinnamons in SoCal this year.

We need a video with you and the outdoor boys.
“The most special duck” dead as ever
☝ To eat 😅
I get it, wouldn't you want to export a couple live and get a monopoly going on this bird. 😂

One of the most dead ducks in all of North America
