Thanks for all the kind words! I'm considering making a follow-up video going into full spoilers for my favorite and least favorite moments, character tier list, thoughts on the state of One Piece and my experience so far as a brand new One Piece fan. If any of you are interested in hearing my thoughts feel free to respond to this comment with any questions or topics you'd like me to cover. And of course subscribe if you haven't so you won't miss it!
When I was a kid I only knew of One Piece as that weird pirate show 4kid had, got the shock of my life a few years later finding out it was by far the most popular series in Japan.
What's really great about One Piece is actually its length. Thanks to it, Oda sowed a lot of seeds throughout the series. The new chapters are basically crazy satisfying harvest time!
Watching this video and then looking at the views I gotta say I'm impressed, this deserves way more than what is getting, loved the way you speak and the video in general
I just went through your channel and saw how long you’ve been going I’m surprised how small your channel is deserves way more especially with this type of content
I would definitely recommend looking up the Drawk Show mom piece episodes as well if I were you, where a teacher is going over the series with a fine toothed comb to talk about all the details and subtle foreshadowing in the series. Gave me an entire new perspective and appreciation for what Oda put into his story
Hi! I'm a podcast producer and would love to speak with the two of you about a One Piece specific episode we're working on. If you're interested, I'm happy to explain more via email.
Was my pirate cosplay that convincing? Haha, I'm just the one guy, but that's cool that you'd like to reach out. You can hit me up at janitorvision@gmail.com
people who complain about the length of it makes no sense, cause the series has been running or 20 plus years, it is only bound to have 1000 episode if they have a chapter almost weekly. when people wants to watch or read One Piece, take your time, no one told you to binge it all i a month unless you want to. Enjoy one piece at your pace, and don't let people dictate that. some might feel drag out (usually and mostly in the post time skip) but once i felt how drag out it was in the post time skip, the pre time skip pacing was good.
An "underdog" just means someone who is underestimated by their opponents. In a hero's story you always expect the protagonist to win, but that doesn't mean there can't be tension for the characters to fail. Luffy fights in a pretty carefree, effortless way, but usually comes out on top because his opponents are overly confident or Luffy out lasts them with his raw determination. I will admit that more recent arcs undercut some of Luffy's creativity and "stretch" believability - like Luffy should not have beaten Katakuri or Kaido through straight grit (you can argue Nika powers tipped the scales into making Luffy kind of an "overdog" now) but I would argue that up until Whole Cake Luffy was never in a favorable position to win most fights - despite being a shonen hero. Vs Crocodile, Enel, Lucci, Dofi, etc Luffy had to overcome a lot and wasn't some Saitama/All-Might - clearly stronger than his opponents. Thanks for checking out the channel!
The way the anime/manga community talks about 1000 chapters being too much to even start is so fucking weird, anime is bad in general but people have to be confused at how long it takes to read “a chapter” of a comic book It took my kid like 2 months to catch up to wano and she’s 11, it feel like people too intimidated to watch the lord of the rings movies because they’re longer than an hour and a half.
I decided to read the books insead of watching the movies and i tried to watch the movies but i stopped because of how bad they were compared to do books
I also tried to watch lotr but it was so boring. I got to like the 2 hour point forcing myself and trying not to fall asleep multiple times. If I'm forcing myself to watch something then it's probably not for me. Almost nothing happens in the first movie tbh.
oda: i am writing this series for kids le everyone: One piece story is definitely not for kids to understand it the good about one piece is THE world moves and does not revolve around MC, characters also have their own story and side story going
Good on ya! I'll definitely mention this in any follow up, but reading weekly is SUCH a different experience than bingeing. It's part of the reason I recommend people start reading now since we're seemingly closing in on the conclusion. It was super hard to read nothing but Wano for 2+ years (4 years for those of you reading in 2018).
@@JanitorJoeyI actually love the weekly reading experience but I'm super invested in the community, I read the spoilers, the raws, the actual chapter, and participate in discussion throughout the week. I caught up to One Piece during Sabaody for reference.
I don't enjoy the anime that much i dropped it on alabasta for months on end not that it was bad just the pacing is god awful imo i picked up the manga and have already got on skypeia starting from begging of the manga would u say to keep consuming the manga or to watch the anime because i want to see some the scenes in the anime but idk to keep reading or to just watch it i was thinking of getting up the latest chapters then watching the latest arc from start to finish.
I haven't taken the time to go back and reread Wano/Egghead (the time I started reading week to week). I've been feeling the drag, but I bet it's a blast to binge! As fun as it is to be part of the discourse when new chapters drop, I think reading the volumes is the ideal way to consume the manga. Glad you're still lovin the ride, and thanks for checking out the channel!

I wanna know what you think the one piece is.
We need to spread The One Piece teaching.
Colored manga should be an option for a little oomph and excitement if the black and white pages are too dull for them

It truly is the golden time to jump aboard the One Piece ship, come along for the greatest adventure ❤
As I heard it build, I KNEW that was the Sam Kim cover of We Are! Dude mixes Overtaken with it in the intro. Pure music genius. Lol

Blessings of GOda upon you, my son. Enjoy your stay!

I watched both and was that much more hyped for it, the creators are even friends 😊

The Naruto vs One Piece debate gets really stupid when you learn the creators of these series are best friends in real life.
That's really wholesome! As far as I can tell the "Pirates VS Ninjas" meme died in 2008, but now One Piece is full of ninjas anyway.
Welcome to the crew, nakama! :)
Babe wake up another youtuber is figuring out one piece is the king of anime
Luffy was never a underdog like how do people read 1000+ chapters and keep making this claim?

I think if one piece live action is good enough, not even great like 7/10, then the anime will get a big big boost worldwide

Anyone know where to read One Piece in color? Need help finding colored One Piece manga.
The one I read and used in this video is on Mangabuddy - just look for the colored version. Enjoy!
I started reading it since 97 and watching it since 99

If you cannot afford to by your own copies of One Piece, remember, the Golden Era of Piracy is now.
Egghead is the best arc ever and it's still yet to finish right now week by week

One piece is deeply steeped in meta-narrative, it is a political manga more than it is a battle manga imo
