I am head over heels in love with Nina, but I want to give some love for Rob Brydon, arguably one of the Great Interviewers. Interesting, engaged and hilarious. Fantastic episode.
I saw her first! I know what you mean, she is adorable and ridiculously talented, Rob is also incredibly talented and his interviewing skills really bring out the best in his interviewees.
I love the bit where Nina Conti is genuinely amazed and eager to learn. Not just because it means Nina is always eager to learn, but because imagine having Nina looking to learn from you.
Perhaps the most talented woman in Britain. She is so good, I would like to claim she is Scottish, but since she was born in Hampstead I can’t. A wonderful talent, we are lucky to have her.
I love that Nina mentioned the ventriloquist class telling her to do the voice by tensing like she's lifting a weight. I was deadlifting one day and counting my reps and accidentally did "small man in a box" voice. I couldn't reproduce it without the weight though.
One of the best things I have ever seen her create was a series of short videos where she goes to therapy.........and, of course, it all unravels. I say 'best' because I am convinced that there are points during the series where she genuinely does not how unhinged she is going to go.
And welcome to the Brydon Weekend Workshop with this Saturday's guest tutor: Nina Conti. (if you could pay at the table as you enter, biscuits & beverages available at intermission) Moments of theatrical ptsd. I did my physical theatre training with Ira Seidenstein, an American Paris-trained acrobat and clown mostly based in Australia. And for all the things I have ever done, I don't believe I have ever worked harder than Ira's workshopped "Pericles", for the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble. Wonder and terror in equal measure. ❤
Fantastic interview! Two of my favourite people. Nina and monkey have lightened my days a lot recently. Great to hear about the beginnings of the act and it's progression. Thanks Rob! And get that Mr Coogan to agree to another The Trip (please) :) :)
Re Jim Carrie - isn’t that quantum physics (not just pure nonsense) ???? 🤔 Good interview (cheers Rob) and Nina is such a joy. Very, very, very funny ❤
@@trinitywildcat you kneed to read the original comment properly (as it implies that Edinburgh is north of Scotland not in) and get a sense of humour 😉
The stuff Nina Conti does with the masks is okay and clever, but isn’t the monkey business more revealing/intriguing and, of course, funny/edgy/new. Then there’s Adam Mediggo. Outstanding. Best of all, the daft stuff, with Minnow and Monkey. Having a bad day? just reach out for that and the sun will come out.
Very very enjoyable...BUT...do I understand that there is a "longer version" of the "podcast""? I have learnt that I cannot "listen" to things I can't see. Or at least not very well. Why on earth arn't there "talking heads" for all podcasts? Not enough bandwidth in the universe?
Why have a guest when all Rob wants to do is talk about himself? Why do you talk show people do this? They have on guests that they talk over and talk about themselves. Just have the Rob Brydon show and be yourself and talk only about yourself.
Nina is always honest, she was lovely. This was not a comfortable chat. I cringed. Rob there was no warmth, it looked awkward and set up. The insincerity is there and obvious to see. You are better with your friends. Not your best post Rob.

There is nothing I want more in life than to see Nina in person…..astounding…..
Nina is fantastic. So glad Monkey recruited her for his act.
I love Nina’s comedy! It makes me laugh every time. If I’m having a bad day I go straight to Nina and I’m cheered up in no time! God bless you Nina!
Probably the best yet. These two could play off each other for hours.
Perhaps the most talented woman in Britain.

Of course you can. Cliff Richard was born in India, he's still English! She has Scottish parents, therefore, she is a Scot.
@@arthurgordon6072 No, utterly wrong. She is English with a Scottish father.
(I can’t comment on the Indian connection to CR)
@@andrewrussell4707 Wrong, her mother is a Scot also! This makes her a Scot.
But Conti is an Italian name…..
Well, she is Scottish through a friend of her mothers...
I have been binge watching and listening to his podcasts such a lovely bloke
Great interview. Nina is so humble, and yet so brilliant and hilarious!
Her vibration is amazing you couldn't not enjoy her company plus she's so funny
Nina is our favourite person in all the world ❤
Thanks for the interview. Nina just seems so clever and quick thinking in her performance... Formidabel and funny

Great interview one of the best Nina is a seriously talented women, so smart.
The small man trapped in the box is always hilarious.
Never heard Rob do that voice before.
@@danieladams9950 You need to watch The Trip.
What a class act she is! Loved this!
Off to see Nina’s show at Edinburgh Fringe the day after tomorrow; am really looking forward to it! 😊
Love to see Nina Conti on TaskMaster...
There are a lot of us out here who feel that…personally I would prefer without Monkey…
Two fantastic people. Really good to see them together chatting about their journey. Thank you for sharing this with us all.
Nina has such a beautiful voice.
The one interview where Rob can legitimately show off in front of his guest.
I mean seriously , could Rob be any more in love with her 😍
Love Nina's work and along with Ken Campbell... Both genius in their own 'fields'. Amazing! What a wonderful interview!
One of the best things I have ever seen her create was a series of short videos where she goes to therapy.........and, of course, it all unravels.

Nina was great in *Black Books* SE02 EP01
Rob: That Billy Connolly in the box at 15:00 was _epic_ 😂
Some of my two favourite people (Nina and Monkey, I mean). ❤
Of course 😂😂😂😂
Love Nina Conti, I had no idea she was Tom Contis daughter!
I assume a interview with Monkey by himself will soon follow
What a glorious person! Not aware of her before. btw always enjoy these pods.
He actually made her blush at one point. 🙂
Brilliant, Nina is genius.
Superb entertainers, both of them.
The (it looks like) semi-improvised piece with Monkey and the psychiatrist is just fantastic.
1000%
Nina is brilliant

Of course his ventriloquism suggestion was one his greatest pranks.
Never knew she was Tom's daughter...what a star she is 👍
Nina, You are amazing !
As refreshing as a crunchy choc coated ice lolly, thank you both for a peep behind the showbiz curtains............
Bravo, Nina!

And of course they were both in Black Books 😁👍
I love this so much, what a joy !
You wanna use HEADPHONES for this one!
Literally had to do just that, very rewarding :)
Nina is brilliant and humble but mainly brilliant.
Brilliant chat 🩵
Rob Brydon is genius.

Who's Jim Carrie?
Claire in the Community. Stalwart of that radio show.
Very slick hair today Brydon
Excellent
Good God I love that woman
So gorgeous ❤
Awesome
Didn't know Tom was her dad.
I ❤ Nina
Of course Nina is off the chart amazing but Rob is a cracking good host!
If Edinburgh is to the North of the UK, where exactly is it?
I love Nina Conti. May she continue to continue.
Scotland

From Canada : The English should start referring to podcasts as 'poddies'.
Oh, come on. It's cute!
Tiny Billy Connolly is brilliant.

'serious clowning' is that an oxymoron?
Most definitely not. Read up on clowning a bit
I want Monkey to meet Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.
