- Information about the two Benjolin versions:
The green Benjolin is specially designed for live playing. That's why I built in a reverb and an insert. The insert can be used to place a volume pedal or effect pedals or both in front of the internal reverb. The reverb is based on a Belton Brick which sounds very vintage and a bit like a spring reverb. It is possible to overdrive the reverb which results in delicious sounds.
There are four switches with 3 positions each for the modulation of oscillator 1 & 2 as well as 2 times modulation of the filter cutoff frequency.
The red Benjolin is patchable via standard banana jacks. It focusses on experimenting and interacting with other devices.
All banana jacks carry control voltage signals. The CV outputs are green, yellow and red. The CV inputs are blue and protected with diodes against high voltages.
The push button in both versions is used for manual triggering of the Rungler. It becomes active when the clock switch is set to external. If an external clock is present, the pushbutton acts as a hold button for the current rungler value.
Another switch is used to loop the Rungler.
The filter can be switched between lowpass and bandpass.
The devices are assembled through hole and mounted in a vintage wooden case including cover.
Dimension including cover:
270mm x 170mm x 70mm
I have a small batch for sale.

I have never heard of this synth but this thing is lovely! I may be hitting you up in a while to see about getting one of these :)
Do you have website?
Best Benjolin ever
That sounds amazing. Unlike many other experimental circuits and instruments, I like how this one also provides a solid bottom end (unlike for instance the Landscape Stereo Field). If I hadn't already had a setup that can cover a lot of the same sonic territory (3 Kilpatrick Phenols and 2 Dreadbox Dysphonias), I'd have been super interested in buying one. I have decided to focus on what I have, though, but I'll definitely look up what you are making if I feel like extending my setup some day as your instruments look great, have very appealing user interfaces, sound amazing, and inspire the kind of experimental approach to music making that is my preferred way of working.
Thank you. I also mainly make improvised music. That's why the panel design always focuses on simplicity and the joy of playing.
@@tilde____ I just discovered the benjolin and its derivatives ... I got one of Peter Blasser's wooden ones and I'm having a lot of fun with it. But these on this video are the best sounding ones I've heard yet!!
Gorgeous! Is there more information on this Benjolin version somewhere?
