Information about the two Benjolin versions: The green Benjolin is specially designed for live playing. That's why I built in a reverb and an insert. The insert can be used to place a volume pedal or effect pedals or both in front of the internal reverb. The reverb is based on a Belton Brick which sounds very vintage and a bit like a spring reverb. It is possible to overdrive the reverb which r...

This is wonderful.
thanx
Hello Tilde, great work!!!!!!!! The sequences are only from the rungler or triggered from outside? Thanks.
both respectively
Those knobs thought ❤
yes
Take me to your leader. 👽👾🛸
Amazing instrument. No insta here. Any other way to get in contact?
Also I love that the touch points have patching post. Sadly missing from other high priced modules. This thing sound amazing
Ok I’m very interested in getting one of these
A very beautiful instrument and a joy to listen to. Big wow!
Amazing sonic box🖤! Greetings 🖖👽
Very nice
looks and sounds really nice!
beautifully done
Hello, How can I purchase this
Great peace of sonic gear🖤! Greetings 🖖👽
sick! love your instrument designs ... they are just a piece of art!
Thanks for the demo 🤘
🤯♥️
Many thanks! So can the S4 apply synthesis/fx to incoming audio which can then be modulated live while playing guitar for example or must audio be recorded and played back order to access the fx and granular synthesis?
yes it can
great demo! the $4 not so much - post-'destructive' FX sound severely lacks dynamics, the drive/crush/noise is weak and short-ranged, del/rev are mediocre both sq- and parameter-wise.. modulations and perf options 'coming soon' are cool though, just like the feedback charming in the end
That sounds and even looks brilliant! Where did you find that pcb?
I made it myself
Great demos Mr Tilde. Thank you so much for sharing. In a future video, would it be possible to see more than one track and how the four tracks can interact with each other? Thank you.
Such tactile sound
the sample itself was so good that i couldnt focus on demo... thx for the demos
i was looking for a eurorack/buchla/serge system which does exactly these sounds: 11:07. WOW
Nice! These are the elements of the S4 I was hoping to see a demonstration of, thank you!
I love this one
finally someone just mangling some shit! lol
best vids on the S4 so far, keep'em coming. the device itself looks quite limited granular-wise as of now. comb filter is nicer, just like the modulation UI and options.
Are those slices being sequenced, or is it just some sort of rando-chop playback going on?
Looks like a morphing lfo changing the start time so it could be s/h set to a range. Im not 100% sure but that looks like what got set up at the start
Thank you for these demos. It's exactly what I wanted to see!
Excellent
Great demos! Is it possibile to overdub a loop while mangling it?
I have never heard of this synth but this thing is lovely! I may be hitting you up in a while to see about getting one of these :)
This looks like it could make most of my VST fx plugs redundant.cant wait to get mine in the third batch
That feedback at the end is soooo good!
That machine sounds pretty neat, I wonder if all this animation from the screen can be switched off as I found it pretty distracting. Thanks for sharing.
That visual feedback is needed there to show the modulation on the filter, as well as the audio spectrum
@@samuelyang1140 Alright, I think I was always more interested in appreciating those changes by listening, and then making my own visuals if needed. All good :)
hypnotic instrument.
Everything I love about machines like the Octatrack...but designed for real playability, accessibility and flexibility. Wowsers this thing has some scope!! Cheers for sharing
If it had scenes and crossfade like the OT.
Talked yourself out of it then ;)
You turning the knob a lot to get to a specific value. How about that?
I noticed that too, but there has to be a SHIFT + knob acceleration feature like on every other machine in existence, right? If not gotta be coming in an update.
Amazing to see how this machine transforms sound. You could make entire tracks from just this one sample!
This is the first set of videos that actually show what this thing really does. I’m pretty blown away
100%- been hoping someone would do something like these.
Surprisingly, as crazy as some of the stuff was, this video was the best so far showing the granular synth abilities, way better than the rather restricted one-trick-pony use in Oora's music or the supershort glimpses that Torso provided. I don't quite understand yet what the buttons with the cryptic icons do and I'd love to see the use of all four channels at the same time to create rather complex pads and loops with more randomness or using the S4 with an external controller keyboard to trigger the samples with different notes ... can you do this?
Oora’s “music”, yeah. This is a gimmick device. Until they fix the firmware and make it actually sync midi, it is pretty much useless for making anything that isn’t ambient trash. I sent mine back so quickly. Digitakt II can actually make music.
thanks for these, its good to finally dive deeper - can you sample/live process something for us to see/hear?
Some of its functions remind me of that plugin from NI called " the mouth"
I was similarly thinking that some of the tape stuff sounds very similar to NI’s ‘The Finger’
Doing the lords work with these demos
You're welcome
Rungler…
how did you connect the potentiometers to the ocb touch function? or where can i find more information to how this works? this is really interesting!
Best Benjolin ever
