Rode this model MANY times growing up. Carpeted cars, leather seats originally, and the unique smell that the cars had. Not some foul stench or anything like that, just a scent that you couldn’t really describe.
Some of the CQ310 series of cars were built as single units instead of married pairs, to allow odd-number sets like 1 car, 3 car, 5 car, or 7 car trains on the line. These cars were numbered in the 500s from 501-520 and were called 'C' Cars or Cab Cars, since they had a cab at each end of a single car. The single units were not as reliable and frequently gapped out from the third rail, especially in the larger crossovers. Some cars received the new seats like this museum car, while others kept the original upholstery seats and carpet, windows that opened down instead of left/right, and original 70s-era equipment. All of these cars were retired and stored out of service in Avondale Yard since the late 90s and early 2000s.

I like these older train cars. They have character. Wish Marta would expand into more areas of Atlanta.
True
@@GeorgethedemonFeF-3 I wish the outlying counties would get their heads out of their asses and start funding expanding the network out!
@2:13 Maybe they should have kept the line orange...
Imagine how gross the trains would be if they still had carpet
The orange cushion was it pulling too much
