Can I just say that I was talking to my wife about you last night, and I said the word, "He creates the most beautiful tanks I have ever seen." You just have such a great eye. Thanks for making these videos. Inspiration for all of us!

I've been watching your videos for a while and never watched your build. I am starting to upgrade to a 120 and really enjoyed your series. Big bonus. My wife likes your videos over many of the others. So getting her involved really helps out. I'm going to be binge watching your entire series as I prepare for the upgrade.

thats fantastic news man! alot of effort went into this tank and some people want the finished meal and skip what happens in the kitchen. Glad i could help sway the wife.. its all downhill from her approval hahah.. good luck!

I'm going from a 48 gallon flat back hex to a 120. I will be transferring the rock and coral w/ some additional rock I have cycling in a tote. Will be upgrading the protein skimmer and lights. I like your slow and steady approach. I will keep the 48 up and running and switch it to long spine urchins w/ Bengai cardinals.

It's so cool how much you learn actually building a tank. I have learned so much in the last year. Also I have to say CJ this build is absolutely awesome. You are doing a great job. Teaching me a lot along the way. I am going to keep working on mine for another year learning as I go. No matter how much I learn from you. Making my own mistakes is part of the process lol. Thanks for all you vids. So helpful.

    Great Work CJ.
Man I was amazed when you actually made a cardboard mock-up of the tank . You'll like Pukani Rocks that's what I have. But get ready for phosphate leaching out of them. But no worries it just part of the slow process! Can't wait to see it wet and cycled!!

Fantastic update, I really like your thoughts on (if it's ugly for 3-6-8 months so be it) I see so many posts on FB groups where people say things like "my tanks been running 6 weeks why are my corals dying"
You take a look at the bigger picture on a realistic time scale, happy reefing man.

Nice work CJ!! I had a saltwater tank in the late 80's for about 5 years.. Then I got out of it because of a mishap with my heater... :( Anyway, I'm getting back into it, but so much has changed. To help me ease back in a couple of months I'm setting up a 50 gallon Red Sea Reefer in my bedroom as a reef tank. So when I finish my basement next summer I would have a better idea of on setting up the 280 gallon custom FOWLR tank i'm putting in. Keep the vids coming!!! I gotta a lot to absorb!!!

Nice vid CJ! I used acrylic rods that i got at Home Depot and cut them down to about 4 or 5 inches and used them as a skeleton to lock my rocks. I also cemented them, so you can't see the rods, except in the back, bottom part of my rocks. This will help lock them in place, with the rocks being so porous the rods slipped right into the holes with a little bit of cement then more cement to actually join the rocks. My rock structure was super strong, i even have 3 small overhangs.
Either way, thanks for the video!
