The max boost is hard coded and can't be reset. If they are looking for a reason to not honor warranty work for the powertrain, they just look at the log and see a much higher boost value. Couple of videos out there that bring this up.
I always advise keeping a resonator for your catback for 1 reason...The resonator helps eliminate higher frequencies of sound, making exhaust notes slightly deeper. You want loud, drop the mufflers, but keep the resonators for better bass notes. not a huge difference, but it wont really impact performance so why not keep the bass notes.
This is why Subarus get a bad wrap when it comes to reliability. Without a tune, the difference between the Perrin and ETS intake alone could lean out and blow up this car. Everyone thinks they can do whatever because they have an accessport or some other tuner. Then, those people blow up their cars up and complain about the reliability...
This is a late response, but other cars like VW are so highly flexible where they are smart enough to adjust for mods much more efficiently over Subarus. OTS tunes open up the car and are super easy to tune.
This obsession with trying to go fast in a straight line is still a thing ? Lol I can dump $20k in any car and make it go quick 0-60, but it’s 2023 time to get hit some corners and find out who really knows how to drive
More fun to drive a slow car fast than to drive a fast car slow. And the vb certainly couldn’t be classified as slow. It’s not going to beat a lot of cars, but it sure is fun to drive.
Your fault, do I expect my 4runner to be just as reliable if I install a supercharger? Of course not, it doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Stop blaming the car, you want to stress the engine and tranny with stupid mods ? Accept the potential consequences.
the 4runner doesn't come turbocharged also not marketed as a baja/sports car. A wrx is marketed as a sports car, so not stupid your just comparing apples to oranges.
So with the Jb4 if ur running all those mods and get a check engine light for something while under warranty. You remove all mods / Jb4 and bring it into the dealership and they wont void the warranty?
That’s would be the plan in my opinion. There’s no way for them to know or prove mods if there are none on the car and no evidence of tuning on the ECU since the JB4 doesn’t flash the ECU.
@@WIDEBODYNATIONsee you shortly when your engine grenades and it’s your fault so we send the videos and pictures to Subaru of America so they won’t warranty it.

I addressed the extra silicone inside the oil pan. At 3k miles, I requested for the dealership to change the oil, drop the oil pan, rotate tires, and take care of recall. They sent me a video of the oil pan once it was dropped, and they also fed a camera to see if there was any silicone inside the oil feeder. Thankfully, everything was clear. No silicone. I do have a 22 limited trim. They asked me to call Subaru of America. Have them make a claim. Which I did. Subaru of America sent me a check via email to cover all expenses. SOA took 2 days to file the claim and send me a check. For now, my 22 limited trim was clear of silicone, and SOA was extremely helpful.
I would like more info as well on this. I reached out to SOA directly about the RTV issue and they denied it. I would love to have this done for peace of mind.
