      lol. Psi also?
Nothing worse than solid tools trying to look like a piece modern art. This design is a perfect, no BS weapon!

That is one boring looking speaker. Looks more like it's coming from old DDR than from Denmark. ;) Seems great feature wise however.

Yeah, it looks like an old GDR design from say 1964, unearthed. ;-)

The 3-way design's frequency response is pathetic for it's size(in the low end} and there's no waveguide for the tweeter and they're nearly $8,000 for the pair? The iLoud MTM's are a much better choice,as they have comparable specs,a much better designed cabinet, built in adjustable stands, are self calibrating(with an included calibration microphone).,are less than half the size and are only $700 for the pair!!

Seriously you are comparing a pro unit with high-end components to a POS Chinese box with generic bits just with "specs" and not hearing them? lol. As far as I can see 59 goes down to 38 Hz and that is based on real tests and not potentially inflated ones (you seen Dynaudio's test centre?). You should always read specs with a pinch of salt, especially on low end things as they are meaningless in the real world. I heard these at NAMM in person, although not the ideal environment, these are in a different class, especially for the price.

@@slord129 Evidently....you know absolutely nothing about IKmultimedia and let me just preface this response by saying...I am not a big fan of IK's software,or even their hardware...but in the case of their studio monitors, they are the most uncompromising speakers I have ever heard at this price point,as the quality across the board...is surprisingly excellent...even shockingly so,in fact.No...I have not heard the iLoud MTM's as of yet...but I do own the iLoud Micro Monitors,so I can state with the utmost confidence, that the MTM's will be a total gamechanger and undoubtedly, the MTM's will be among the very best offerings, under a $1,000.It's so easy to discount and mock monitors in a lower price range (particularly ones made in China)...but with good quality control implemented in the factory,it does not always matter which country manufactures it.Adam Audio's A7X line is made in China and they are among the most respected monitors out there. While the Dynaudio's clearly have more wattage and can be pushed much harder than the iLoud's...well...at their exorbitant price point, the non-existent waveguide and huge woofer(not producing much more low end than that of the iLoud's MTM's)...is just ridiculous,at almost $8,000.Point is,that although the iLoud MTM's won't suit everyone's requirements, there are still soooo many other better choices out there, for considerably less(such as the former Event Opals...for instance). You can say whatever you want about the iLoud's,but I've owned several different monitors over the years(including the Adam A7's) and I have never heard anything out there, that was as powerful, clean, well rounded and as transparent as the iLoud Micro Monitors(for $300)...so that said, the upcoming ILoud MTM's will be in a class by themselves, among monitors below $1,000 and will out-perform more expensive monitors.

Well (and I honestly don't want to start a flame war here) actually I've been in the industry for 30+ years so I do know quite a bit about iK and what else is on the market. Let’s just say that until you hear them you really shouldn’t spout off based on specs alone. Some brands also like to give ‘boosts’ to figures for sales reasons that in the real world are not achievable too.
Pleased you have had great experiences with your monitors. But you can’t be comparing these new Dyns with the iK stuff, the Adam A7x (which are made in Germany BTW) or even the Adam T series (that are made in China and that can't ever be repaired BTW as the drivers are hard glued in to the baffle to save on cost), you are in a different league here. It's like comparing a Chinese made Squire Strat with a Fender custom shop. Or even a Ford Focus with a top of the line Aston Martin. Either will get you there and can be fun, all depends on your ability to get the most out of them and, in the audio world, the rest of your signal chain. Horses for courses, as they say in old Blighty. I'm sure the iK speakers are great value, nothing these days is ‘bad’, but you do generally get what you pay for with a few exceptions in our industry and you can't compare a general MI with a Pro product like this based on specs alone.
These new Dyns are not aimed at competing with these low-end products (which as I said are not 'bad'), but they compete with higher end offerings from PMC, ATC, Focal, Genelec, Adam and Kii etc. All of these are professional tools with far higher levels of constituency, which is essentially what you are paying for and these new Dyns are cheaper than most of those at the same level which I find remarkable based on what I heard in person (Kii is $15k+ a set by the way!). No cheap $1k box can ever compete truly at that level, that’s just what it is.
Oh and waveguides are also a bit of a sales push actually on the most part, you don’t need them if your HF driver is properly time aligned (the Dyns generally are behind the baffle, as I understand it this new one also has airflow optimisation technology too to help remove resonances).
      Have a great day :)

@@slord129 I am all for keeping the conversation friendly...but even though I have not been in the industry as you have,I do my research online(apart from my real world observations.)Actually...I am well aware that typically, quite a few budget companies fudge the numbers on spec sheets(such as Samson,M-Audio,Behringer,KRK,Tascam,Fostex...just to name a few)....and I know the LF roll off point is determined by the engineering on the cabinet and the aforementioned brands fail horribly at this.In the case of the iLoud Micro Monitors however, that I own,the spec sheet states a LF response of 50Hz at the flat position and having listened to them with my own material that I obviously know very intimately,I can attest to the accuracy of this figure.Honestly,I cannot fathom how IK achieved this on a budget(& actually,I was equally skeptical as you are, before I had decided to give them a shot.) As for my opinions on the Dynaudio's...well...I never said they sounded sub-par...per say,as I am sure they are exceptionally transparent....but I do not need to hear them,in order for me to determine that a whopping 9.5" woofer, producing 38Hz,is not impressive at all.If I had a larger budget to work with and I were to choose a 3 way design that was comparable in size to that of the Dynaudio Core 59,I would go with the Adam Audio S3V's(as they have a deeper LF response and a higher SPL) and they are nearly $2,000 less per pair than the Dyn's! Speaking of Adam Audio...I had the original A7's and I know for a fact that they were made in China. The A7X's are the successor to the original A7's(obviously)...so that said, they are BOTH Adam Audio's budget lines.Also...I looked at the back of an A7X monitor and it states that it was designed and developed in Germany, but mentions nothing of it being manufactured in Germany.Though I cannot confirm as fact, that the A7X's are indeed made in China,I can say, that it is most likely the case(as it is the only logical conclusion, given the A7X line's considerably lower price points(than that of their higher end lines.) Not to dispute your point on time alignment...but...if wave-guides have little to do with accuracy and sweet spots...then why do high end lines of companies like Event,JBL,Genelec and Adams...have enormous wave-guides?Do you mean to imply, that all of these said companies do not have the same quality in terms of time alignment as the Dynaudio's??Cheers and kind regards...

I would take a pair of high end studio monitors over a pair of computer speakers any day for making critical mix decisions.
