I cant just get enough of Vinny playing World of Horror, its nice to see Vinny respecting the tradition and dedicating streams to this amazing game, hope we can get another World of Horror before the month ends.
This was pretty neat to watch and one more would sit right.
In my head, the VDub event isn’t broken, he just cons you by selling a replica call of duty pistol.
Also, that Labor Day event is my favorite. Fits the uncanny vibe of the game perfectly. Perhaps they were the true masterminds behind the ramen shop mystery?
Its funnier that way, but shame the mod didnt work, would've been cool to see him use the gun. Happy Ramen Labor Day. 🍜🍜🍜

@@LeudieBlues If you pay attention, it says he handed you an "EMPTY" revolver. As in, it doesn't have ammo. Of course the gun doesn't work, it's empty. You'd had needed ammo first.

Love World of Horror, great game. Glad to see its become an annual tradition now. The character art changes with 1.0 were pretty bad, but at least they were reverted other than the Junji Ito "Struggling Artist" one being relegated to Timeline B only while the new one is Timeline A.
Other than Aiko, I don't remember other bad character art, was there another one?

FYI: The creator of the game (Pawel "Panstasz" Kozminski) recntly interviewed Junji Ito.
While the information is only in Japanese, there are several fan translations on the way.
Did they undo the face art for most of the characters?
Went to check it out on steam, I’m finding it weird that most positive reviews have 3-6 hours on the game. It’s like people get infatuated with it early, leave a review, then never play it again.
Is it actually something people enjoy sinking time into? It looks interesting but I can’t tell.

Watching Vinesauce play World of Horror is my favorite yearly tradition ever since he first played this 4 years ago.
Living in a country that doesn't celebrate Halloween, this makes October such a great month for me. Thanks Vinny
i remember about 2 years ago I was going through a difficult part of my life and I watched vinny's original WoH streams and I posted a comment on how these streams helped me push through those difficult times, time has passed and I can confidently say I feel much better now. I thank myself for my own growth on getting better but thank you too vinny, your streams are more helpful to some than you might realise.

My friend worked on this!! They basically created the character Moriko if im remembering right, and they helped with the update art too. There's a plush bunny/toy event she did a lot of the art for!

As an adult this game has likely given me the most actual nightmares just based on the themes and the music embedding itself into my brain. I love it, glad to see 1.0 finally arrive!

If Vinny expresses interest in an updated mod I'd be happy to make more. Part of the reason I haven't updated it beyond fixing the revolver thing (Vinny never downloaded the fixed version) is because it was a lockdown project when I had more free time. Now I'm doing my Masters full time instead of working so I have a bit of free time again

sucks I missed scissors, Kuchisake-onna is by far my favorite japanese urban legend and that chapter being so simple is awesome to me. still gotta love the crazy 5-horror campaigns though, lets you actually build some strength for your strategy

😮 one of the most creative and unique roguelites out there. Idk about its replayability once you play every character, but modding sure will help. Better to watch Vinny or someone else play it though. If i played it myself, I'd probably get too immersed and end up screwed mentally for the night.

I still haven't played this game yet, don't know anything about the mods Vinny has except for what I'm seeing now, and am no gun-scientist... but is not the reason that the gun "doesn't work" based on the fact that Vinny has no bullets for said gun?
The actual game revolver is labelled as police revolver in the game code but the mod gives just "revolver" which does not exist in said game code as said before

what's the story with the artwork changes vinny mentioned? I looked online but I could only find something about art being changed to avoid tracing accusations
The only thing I’ve been able to find myself is a reference to the “struggling artist” being replaced by a character model that isn’t a reference to Junji Ito.
I wasn’t aware of him/his estate being upset or even aware of the reference, but I guess it’s better to be safe than sorry.
