people don't know, billy used to run 12th & A. some of my fondest childhood memories were bonding with friends learning the craft of skateboarding while feeling so utterly safe and free in the play ground that billy fostered. contests, nonsense, and a shipping container of snacks. billy, thank you, big bro.
@@RonBalone haha that’s amazing. I watched a dude 50 a hubba at my local park in crocs with no socks. This hubba is so massive that you only ever see BMX guys hitting it, yet the croc dude rolled up and 50’d it, carved around for a minute, and then dipped out in his minivan.
A Florida legend. I remember being up in Gainesville skating with friends and we happened upon a "secret" mini ramp. Billy Rohan ended up showing up and we (my skate crew) were in awe watching him.
I caught a ride with Billy from Panama city beach to Dothan Alabama for a skate contest back in the 90's. The first true legend I ever met. Besides Buck Smith. Florida forever.
The portrait was in the Sidewalk Magazine interview with Billy. Such a rad skater. Great work Jenkem, always bringing the content you didn’t know you needed
im a university student in the panhandle. driving south for spring break last week and stopped in Gainesville for a skate break, visited this shop and skated the mini but had no idea Billy owned it. super cool vid
The Paynes Prarie Trail gets shutdown sometimes in the spring because there are too many gators. Before the rainy season they all get condensed into one area around that lake.
There’s a video of him constructing a mini ramp I think vice put out maybe a decade ago, and I’ve watched that video so many times thinking I’d build myself one….then I always realized I’m not handy and really have no where to put it. But anyway, always admire the craftsmanship
I have taken a few friends visiting me to La Chua Trail to see all of the gators, they are always so shocked how close you can get to them. The winter time is the best time to check them out because they come out of the water to sun themselves since the water is "so cold" (quote fingers since our water doesn't get that cold but it's enough of a warmth difference for the gators to take advantage of).
this guy did a blind hardflip over a quarter. I haven't heard of anyone else doing it. and he nollie hardflip down the NY courthouse. damn. he is so cool and well mannered, what a guy.
Nah man, even crazier - 35mph! "Alligators can reach speeds of up to 35 mph on land (though they're known to tire quickly). And in the water, they can reach a top speed of 20 mph, which is faster than a bottlenose dolphin". Just made me think of that gator video in SC that I think was around last year..gator comes out of a pond and books it! Maybe it is seasonal, like they're slower when it's colder out? FL crazy af

You probably mean well and didn't know this but Its hella disrespectful to skate in a Bhuddist shrine. You also shouldn't be showing the souls of yr feet to the statues either..thats no bueno. At least ya weren't grinding up the ledges so theres allways that. If you tried that in Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar or Laos i guarantee it would not end well for you at all lol.

I love how Billy casually does a fs flip transfer in a pair of fuckin running sneakers. What a champ.
I once skated in DC with him where he was wearing a full suit, including black dress shoes. He ripped that day despite his shoes. 1 of 1
