It was mentioned at 44:00; if anyone at strive is kind enough to find it and share it.

All Objectivists should watch this video. I'd take notes, absorb this, and put it into practice.

Some interesting points, using techniques in subtraction and addition etc to conclude a topic in 4 minutes. A bit like using a 12 times table where one takes two points to achieve an absolute truth in maths.

I don't like the language '...morally obligated... '. In Objectivism, it is postulated that living life qua human necessitates morals and morals necessite not avoiding thinking, taking knowledge into account etc. Buy you are in no way obliged to live and therfore live morally etc. So why would you use this language?

Which objective framework are you referring to? Obviously not all objective standards are equal, but bad objective morals can be held in contrast to better reasoning.

Funny that during a conversation about persuasion Alex Epstein waits as people jot down notes. Taking notes during a speech is not persuasive- it makes them not listen and pay attention. It also ruins the pacing of your talk.

The audience is here to learn. They are taking notes as a means to help them retain what they're learning. If Alex keeps on talking, then they would get lost and he would lose them for the rest of the conversation. Losing people because you move too quickly is not persuasive.

It is not true that taking notes helps retain information more than simply listening.

That may or may not be true. However, that doesn't change the point that if Alex keeps on talking when people are writing down their notes, then he can lose them for the rest of the presentation.

Alex was encouraging them to take down notes which slowed down the talk and ruined the pacing. Oh well i'll get over it one day.
