Never owned a Pentax, but your love for them has gotten my interested. I like mechanical cameras, although I do have a few Canon A series and the EF. My favorite is my original F-1. It’s heavy though, much like the Contax RTS that you have of mine now. All that to say my EDC camera is a like new Canon T-60. It’s plastic, made for Canon by Cosina, but it’s a joy to use. I’m thinking the MX would fit my needs very well. Thank you for updating us on these three cameras!
I really like the Super Program It's just a bigger ME Super. I'll have to keep a eye out for a ME Super I was lucky to find two K1000 paid $35 for the both of them, one was loved and the other is mint even has the 1:2 lens 49mm lens on it.
Been shooting on my MX for almost 3 years now and I really love it. It definitely made me a better Photographer by being so "basic". The only trouble I've had is in cold weather, where the mirror likes to get stuck. Also, the light meter is starting to give out, but you honestly don't really need it. It's more to confirm.
I know this is a long shot but do you happen to have any Topcon Super D or Super DM bodies for sale? I'm in the EU and I've been searching for one of those for a while now and it seems that they weren't really sold here... I'd be willing to import one given the price is right for me. The ones of Ebay seem insanely overpriced for such an unknown camera. Much love from a fellow Pentaxian!
The most pretty Pentax is the Pentax K The most robust is the K-1000 The best small Pentax SLR is the auto 110 super The best manual Pentax is the LX The best picture quality slr is the 6x7 So it's hard to make one for all cases
Have you noticed that me super light meter can go haywire if there are spot lights or direct light into the lens? I've seen it happen few times. Results in huge under exposure. I'm thinking maybe there is some surface where the light can bounce around inside?

The ME Super and A35-70 / 28mm 3.5 is my go SLR for travel/vacation. Capable and compact.

I find the MX focusing screen to be quite a bit dimmer than the ME Super one. Could just be my cameras.
I've got both and they're pretty much the same on my copies. I wish the MX had the nice film advance feel of the ME Super though.
Part of the allure of shooting film is to be able to meter with your own eye and the light meter in the camera is merely for confirmation.
