  • Welcome to another video in the Visual Owners Manual series for your Indian FTR 1200 or 1200 S motorcycle. This video shows you how to remove and reinstall the seat.
    Supplies needed:
T40 torx driver to remove grab handles (not a T25 as I mistakenly say in the video - sorry about that!)
6mm Allen driver to remove seat bolts
Please refer to the video where I install the accessory mounts and side rack to see the exact location of the grab handle and seat bolts: • Indian FTR 1200 S Visu... .
Seat is by Saddlemen (model: Track CF). Find out more at saddlemen.com/.... MSRP $446.
Come back any time to check out more videos in this series and thanks for watching! Don't forget to check out my podcast (Chasing the Horizon, chasingthehoriz...) and BMW motorcycle tech channel right here on UA-cam - Nicht Uber Max.

How does it go in the dirt with those tyres.

And what tires are those? I HATE the stock tires. It feels like I’m riding a DR400.

Hey how are you liking the seat so far? Trying to decide if the seat makes the ride more comfortable for longer trips and is worth the investment? Any advice would be much appreciated- thanks

Not a fan of the stock seat, but I'm larger than the average rider. I've had mine reworked by an auto upholsterer and it's better.

Soooo how’s the seat? I just ordered a corbin

I had my seat worked over by a local upholstery shop that specializes in cars. They did a fair job, improved comfort quite a bit but it's still not great. I should have ponied up the cash for a Corbin, but money was tight.

Hey man did your ftr throw codes when you first bought it ? Mine threw a missfire code at like 60 miles . Brought it to the dealer the reflashed it. Now I'm at like 170 miles and it threw p0173 which is some kind of fuel trim code.

I haven't gotten any fault codes yet.

@@yaz5627 mine ended up being one of the oxygen sensors. I sold mine over a year ago though. The tiny tank and high cost of ownership was lame af. The battery died.the oxygen sensor went. It barely idles on start up. The terrible throttle response. Just poor execution on a beautiful looking bike.

@@jjjfffppp exactly I have noticed the same thing after literally just purchasing it. Super small tank and can barely idle on neutral literally just turns off. Can barely start up and stay on. When i give it throttle its all air for the first ten minutes. What a joke. Even the grommet on the speedometer came off and is just in there bouncing around. Mechanic at the dealership tried saying im abusing the bike LOL. Dude i just bought that shit and seen so many issues.

@@yaz5627 I'm sorry man. I'd try and trade out of it. Just go somewhere at the end of the month so they are more motivated to make a deal. They just aren't a good bike if you actually ride. They look damn good sitting in the garage though
