Look at the shadow that is cast on the ground from the gates, it looks a lot like Merikas Great Rune, as well as a basin for pooling light and flow it down towards the ground.
Also, I believe Zullie The Witch did a video about a similar situation in Dark Souls 3 with the Gael bossfight. It helps avoid a loading screen or forcing you to watch the phase transition cutscene by having the second-phase model in the same area, just no-clipped out of bounds where it can't be seen and won't interfere until it's needed, and this way it can be swapped into place really quickly (lord knows ppl would be up in arms if they had to watch the cutscenes which would time out all of their buffs XD)
Or the Scadutree Chalice.I don't think they put ot there with no purpose.Let's just hope that Miyazaki is lying for the possibility of no second DLC plans.

Radhan is not an Emperyan. A demigod yes, but not Emperyan. Only Ranni, Malenia, and Miquella are Emperyan. But yes he is one of the only Demigods to keep both eyes
