It is difficult to sing in the voice of the character. Most voice actors use a different voice from their original voice when they acting. Kiryu's voice actor is one of the few exceptions who originally has Kiryu's voice, and Akiyama's voice actor is originally a very good singer, but Gouda's voice actor is neither.
Reminder: Goda Ryuji is currently the only main antagonist (who later became a secondary protagonist) to ever have their own karaoke segment. Majima Goro in honourable mention, not a main antagonist but also got his debut karaoke take, also in Dead Souls.
They honestly sound like two stuck up foreigners who are now actually fluent in the language and used to the cadence trying to sing a song in the japanese for a change.
The reason why ryuji version is the least impactful is because his VA is forced to do the Kansai voice so he can stay in character when his not doing it he sounds so different now that dedication
I've only just recently playing the Yakuza games. I played the Fist of the North Star Paradise Lost game, which is made by the same developers and voiced by the same actors. For some reason, when I watch this video, I can only think of Toki (Akiyama), Kenshiro (Kiryu), and Raoh (Ryujii) singing with Yuria..........and it's beautiful.😂😂😂😂😂😂
