Imagine the sock selection for the whites. If you wear blue, yellow, black, white, or the most fire, red no show or ankle socks, it’ll make the shoes look unique and different. So for most shoes you can change laces but on this one you can change socks and change the look. I like the whites most

These are crazy cheap right now, I wouldn't sleep on these if you can cop them at retail prices. I definitely like the way they look on feet and they are very comfortable.

Key word: wearable. something that CAN be worn as per normal shoes/clothing, but the primary role is to be seen, to catch people's eye, to make a statement.
if this shoe wasn't from Off-white everyone would hate it. It's just not really good looking.

Wow. So many thoughts. First off! GREAT, great, great review and breakdown of this shoe 🙏 It's something i love about sneakers going into what makes them art but wearable and seeing the designer's inspiration on why it was made. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the shoe overall seems unfinished...as if Virgil had the aesthetic down and was going to make it functional later, but sadly passed away before he could? Or I could be absolutely wrong, then in that case I agree: I wish the extra stuff on the side and back had more use as oppose to just eye catching. It definitely makes it eye catching, but that's not enough to make me want the shoe. The more you talked about it, the more I actually liked it, but blazers are way too flat for me, so it just wouldn't even be a good wear. Thanks so much for this Seth, love your stuff!

I think not only should you show the shoe deconstructed, but you should do a how to video for all those in the same boat as you. Vigil wanted people to customize his shoes to the way they could, that’s why he gave us all these options throughout the years and I think you’d be able to help a lot of people.
Hit the black pair for retail, definitely like the white more but this shoe is growing on me more and more. Even if I don’t wear this shoe, i think it is such a cool art piece that Virgil designed

got these for me in the black and in the white for my mom. Don't know when I'll ever get the chance again to grab one of virgil''s shoes for retail. Never really 'loved' the Off white collection as it became kinda hypebeasty and immature to wear (obviously liked them as a design piece) but these have that art piece feel that the OW jordan 4s for example dont have. This is a beautiful piece and has an avant garde look that I really love.
Would also love to see a video of you taking the oversized heel off.

I feel like most of Virgil's more recent creations havent been as inventive. The sail 4's really had no new design changes, just "AIR" text and a zip tie slapped on them. These blazers just feel like a blend of the dunks and the 5's to me

At first I was like "why the fuck do you put holes in shoes" and maybe there's a artistic reason but it's kinda cool that you can wear these and give it 10 different looks by just wearing different socks. I wouldn't buy Off White but I'm much more intrigued by it than hating on it like some others. Virgil certainly knew what he was doing and it's sad that he died so young.
From a design standpoint i can definitely get behind it. The off white chicagos created an iconic variation of an already-existing silhouette. The hype around it and the insane resell value made a lot of people deem it as overrated though

If you do go ahead and experiment with the shoe like removing the back piece etc. please also do some weight comparisons since you mentioned it was heavy and the balance was off.
Would love to see if the shoe can be deconstructed to look more like a standard blazer low. Would be very wearable at that point and I 100% wouldn’t be mad wearing it

The QC is atrocious, I had to order new laces and overlaces, due to the shoelaces fading on the laces and overlaces ripping, I haven't even worn them for a month. I don't understand how Nike decided that going cheap on materials on a designer shoe was a good idea. If Virgil was still alive, he sure would have died with how bad Nike made these shoes.

Every time I buy on the snkrs app I end up getting the wrong size somehow. I click 10.5 and I always get something different. When I got the Black and White dunks it gave me a 10 which was fine because they still fit just fine but this time it gave me a size 9 and I doubt its going to fit me when it gets to me. I wasn't planning on keeping it regardless but if I get them in hand and I like them I guess I will try to trade with someone who has a 10.5 or 10.

They’re great for the beach. I’m not a sandals guy so these work in hot weather because of the ventilation 💯 And there’s no fabric that the sand messes up and they can be wiped down easily.

I’ll go for both colorways because I like the way these look with the green socks, But I also prefer the white pair I’m praying I hit on those.
One detail I love about this shoe is the murdered out logo since a contrasting logo would have detracted from the other aesthetics of the shoe. Sadly this is only one one colorway and not both but still something I really love and why I am going for this colorway instead of the other one.
My thoughts exactly. You also can pair different colors of socks, like orange or yellow or blue like the shoe. But you can also tone it down with black socks. This is a versatile shoe.
Shoes like this will only bump up the 10 collection resell price
On the fence with these, but I think the white pair clips the black. I would customize them by removing the heel and reapplying the heel accents to the normal midsole. That would be a dope video Seth.
