You down with FGD? (That’s first green day, BTW.)
First green day setups are one of my favorite ways to trade penny stocks.
In this video, I’m with StocksToTrade lead trader Tim Bohen at TradersExpo Chicago. We’re talking about the best way to trade first green day setups, including how to identify them and how to take advantage of them.
First green day setups can be a great way to trade ... but only if you’re willing to do your research and PREPARE for the trade.
As Bohen puts it, in the stock market, “you never want to anticipate ... you want to react.”
No, it’s not fun to trade this way. People get antsy. They can give in to FOMO. They want to believe that they can see things before they happen. It’s part of the human condition: we want to know things.
But in that sense, trading is counterintuitive. You want to wait until the market actually confirms your theory before you put your cash on the line.
The key is being ready to take advantage and strike while the iron is hot. Let the haters buy on day five or six!

... and I talk about what I specifically look for in each of these characteristics and why.
Penny stocks are different from other stocks. A large-cap stock that spikes on day six is very different. I don’t think you want to treat these trades the same way. Instead, embrace the informational inefficiencies that can make penny stocks move so rapidly.
Never forget: most penny stocks will fail. Even if it’s spiking right now, it’ll probably fail.
Penny stock spikes offer a glimmer of hope. It only lasts for a very short time, and then it dies. You’re trading on that glimmer of hope, but don’t believe in the stock. It’s usually not the start of something amazing.
But those short-term spikes can create opportunities.

I'm still not as accurate at identifying 1st green day I've only got 1 and I wasnt confident it was until a day or 2 later but on the otc side that morning spike after late but in's at closing is a nice daily 🍞 winner

I''ve been learning a couple months now, just finished 30 day bootcamp and now reading The Complete Penny stock Course. I want to learn all these patterns but so much info is a little ovrwhelming. I think I will start with one pattern at a time, The first green day will be my first, Thanks Tim!

Hi Tim, great stuff! Really enjoying your videos and reading your book, which I've been studying for a couple weeks now. I know I have a ways to go, and I'm committed to learning/studying as much as I can, and most if not all of my free time I'm using to study/learn. My question is really two. First, is the FGD technique for going long or short? Secondly, looking for a good place with examples of past trades to study that breaks down the pattern that was identified and how the stock played out with its price action and volume...greenhorn here, so I'm really just looking for a couple of the simple basic patterns to learn/study so that I then can better detect those patterns with the setups you teach and stocks you suggest to initially screen for that provide the correct volatility, momentum, and liquidity. Thanks so much!

How long does a stock have to go down before before you consider a first green day? For example, after stock overall goes down for 30 days and spikes, the 31st day would be a first green day. And, anything before 30 days is not long enough to be a first green day. Again, just an example.
3 month chart should have a noticeable spike and break previous resistance
So first Green Day’s are after the trading day has closed and you’re preparing for hopefully a morning spike the next?
I believe a first green day is when you see a good amount of buying and volume hit the stock the you watch and wait for more conformation see that catalyst is moving the stock and asses weather or not due to catalyst volume and chart history weather it's a good play or not then thank God 🙏 if it works out nothing is granted said Sensei sensei Sykes. Don't forget 10-40% is a good gains and a great exit signal

How often would you say you use the first green day strategy ive been using earning as my strategy just because I can see them coming and study the company before hand but the watch list can go on forever if your not choosing right

You can trade the news on great companies like amd or nvda make money longing them with leverage and then leave some money on the table when you think the time is right to exit. That way you invest and trade at the same time . Brother.
