- This scene brought me many a tears and sadness, I tear up especially at the quiet "Vex" Percy says right before he passes. Still, I can't stop listening to the song in the background. And apparently it's sang by Matt goddamn Mercer?! Is there something this guy can't to (except not losing his wallet in a foreign country apparently)?
Also, holy shit, last 3 episodes killed me! So much grief and loss in them. Holy, I love this show so much. Not many things can cause such emotions in me and I'm here for all of it! (But if they don't bring Percy back I am flying to Taliesin to cause chaos)
As always, I don't own anything (I wish I had Percy's soul though, Orthax doesn't deserve my boy) so I'll take it down should anyone ask!
The one time he doesn’t reach for the gun and it cost him everything
He doesn't lose his humanity, as he once very close to lose it
Character driven by revenge killed when he decided to forgive... It's so tragic
Gives a lot of Alexander Hamilton vibes. Poor Percy 😢
Born from blood, died knowing love.
Rest in Peace Percy.
Since Percy is so integral to the rest of the story I refuse to believe they won't find a way to bring him back somehow
If they don't bring him back, I'm burning something
If this show doesn't win any awards or is even nominated this season, I will riot
You'll have my sword!

Ana Ripley to Vex: "There's nothing worse than the death of a loved one, especially if it's your fault.
they need her gun to revive him, his soul is trapped in it.
Don't.. don't do that.. don't give me hope..
He actually does revive
@@RioPheonix35555in the actual campaign yes, but that was the next day, this show is different
Hey yeah!!! I also noticed the detail of the gun shining while Percy was dying and his ex-demon was laughing.
Probably in the next season Vox Machina will go looking for Ripley for revenge or maybe they will just cross paths, that will inevitably lead to a confrontation with the crazy engineering and they will surely end up finding out that the gun that Ripley now uses contains Percy's soul. Which leaves the question: Would it be possible to revive Percy?
@@alister_rage1357 What? Does Vox Machina have any other kind of material apart from this animated series?
The lyrics hitting "but he was gone" as we see his cold corpse and it cuts to Vex's face... god it's so good.
This scene is a goddamn masterpiece
I love that song was a play by play of the scene... it narrates its own scene
I know! The song's incredible and the whole scene is just perfect.
What is the name of the song
god this song destroyed me. time to listen to it on loop while i weep quietly
Welcome to the club

I am in fact not weeping quietly, rather I am crying very loudly already had a welfare check from the neighbor
Song?
@@sandman7amv6 peter habib - not how it's supposed to end
I know that he gets revived and i have played enough dnd that death doesn’t really matter (as long as there isn’t something preventing resurrection) but damn the music was so heartbreaking, the characters reaction and Percy’s character change from moving on from vengeance and what does he get out off it? His heart broken both physically and metaphorically
I love how despite how they've been on the brink of death so many times and so they've taken so many lives, the death of one of their own truly hurt them
@@desperation457 They're used to it being ok somehow in the end. Now one of their members is actually, truly dead and for the first time
his soul had to of went into his gun and thats how they bring him back they cant kill my boy like that
They Will bring him back they have to.
There’s still much of the campaign he’s involved in. There’s also the threads of fate and there was also the moment where Percy focused on the ice dragon’s scales; he had plans for them. They wouldn’t animate that if they were just going to drop it. Percy will come back. My theory is the Matron of Ravens will offer a deal: destroy Orthax who’s been stealing souls from her domain and in exchange she’ll revive Percy.
@@robbieking4070 thank you for giving me hope🙏🏼
I knew when I heard the song the first time, it was Matt. It is confirmed now that Matthew Mercer did actually sing this song. MY GOD THAT MAN KILLED ME WITH THIS. And that made me incredibly proud for some reason, just wanted to brag everywhere. I was already ready to take a bullet for him but with talent like this, I am about to take it while throwing as much as shade at the world. Like come on. 😂
Wait Matt Mercer was the singer of the song of Percy’s death my respect for him just grow and grow
Matt Mercer is a gift to this world that's just keeps on giving
Man I was heartbroken with this scene. Percy was my favorite Grog being second
I'm holding out hope that Percy can be revived in season 4 since Orthax has his soul.
Ripley's one chance at salvation. And she shot it point blank in the chest. She's got no to blame but herself for the consequences that follow her.
If we don't get a recreation of her execution from Vox Machina, I will genuinely be sad.
Ripley is one of the characters I hate most, but she also serves an important purpose - in her Percy can see what he would become if not for his loved ones helping him reject the revenge plan and Orthax. They're very similar and yet polar opposites. She chose the revenge and violence and we'll see how it ends poorly for her, I'm sure
Looks like Ripley got her partnership with Percy after all
I had tears in my eyes... you are always be in our heart percy
@@farius3962 He's my favourite character, I cried my eyes out when he died
Nahhhh not my dawg Percy 😭😭😭😭😭
I hope somehow Percy comes back to life
He has to comeback. he is absolutly essential to the later plot that they are hyping up,
@@phantasm6427 There's a big chance for that - his soul is probably still trapped in the gun, being eaten by Orthax... I feel he's too important to the plot to die now
i'm never going to not cry while listening to this song, am i. oh my god they cooked so hard
For me it stops after like 10 loops, doesn't mean I'm any less sad
Matt dose a great job in the song
This song, Ruby of the Sea one as well, he's just incredible
I will be honest, this scene didn't hit me as hard as it should've, as I knew this more or less happened in the OG campaign, but it went off script with his funeral. I imagine they'll bring Percy back, but justify it more so that it's not just "revive spell go brr"
That is the hope., but we'll just have to wait and see
I never listened to campaign 1 (but I did listen through C2). However I like to think it will be more than "revive go brrr" for one simple reason.
Ripley said that Orthax gets the souls claimed by the weapons she made. I'm pretty sure she was referring to the mass-produced model but her concealed pistol might have sent Percy's soul to Orthax.
If that's the case, reviving Percy would require a deal with Orthax, or perhaps defeating him (and I can't imagine the Matron is very happy about Orthax taking souls when they die).
Again, I'm just some guy on the internet. I don't know the lore or the answer. But that's merely my theory. Have a nice day!
I'm thinking he comes back at some point. Orthax stated to Ripley about taking his soul like 2 minutes before this scene. I'm guessing there will be some soul stealing shenanigans in season 4. Maybe something like Vex finds out that Percy's soul is being tortured by Orthax and they go all out to save him.
they better
What if he didn't come back in the traditional sense? Think about it - when Orthax used Percy to absorb a soul, there were always signs of direct possession, and the weapon that glowed needed to be the direct cause of death. When Ripley killed Percy, there were no signs of Orthax (not even the shadow-arm thing), and not only was the wound (shot to the chest) not an instantaneous kill, the weapon that glowed wasn't the one that killed him, it was the one that he last held, which Ripley took.
I could be completely wrong, but based on these points I have a theory for how Percy's story might end. I think that Percy's soul has been absorbed - but not by Orthax, by Ripley's gun, like how Orthax was able to survive in the original pepperbox before Scanlan destroyed it. I think that the next step for Percy's story involves him becoming the sort of anti-Orthax, fighting him within Ripley, if that makes any sense.
This broke me 😭😭😭😭😭
Oh My Word, is his soul in the Gun!?!! 0:26
I and many other fans believe so. It makes sense, Orthax said people killed by Percy were delivered to him to feast upon. With his hatred towards Percy, I wouldn't be surprised if he "attached" his soul to the gun, trapping him for Orthax to... You can probably guess.
@@lextr4fr
@@lextr4 Also before this scene, Orthax asks Ripley something along the lines of "Can I have his soul now?" right before that whole action scene really got going. Probably why Pike couldn't do anything about it.
its not even a theory its straight up gonna be how they get him back, plus kill ripley in the process
If you don't revive this man I will abandon this show
I feel like it would be an ass pull to bring him back from the dead especially after everything that has happened, his death added real stakes and devastating emotions which was much needed in this show, especially how vex matured and handled the situation and her confrontation with her father, we would have lost all that if they just "revived" him, and if he eventually comes back it will cheapen everything that the cast has already gone through
Welcome to dnd
They died many times in the campaign
Yeah but this based off a real D&D game and tbh bringing back the dead is a thing that happens. Pretty sure everyone died at least once though it wasn’t easy to come back and there where still conquences
i mean they just gotta get his soul back from Orthax. the gun even glowed before he died
@@itsjustvin7630 But think about it, if Percy comes back to the show what purpose is it going to be for?, his story is already complete as he managed to overcome his thirst for vengeance, bringing him back will add nothing to the story and just cheapen the emotional moments of his entire death and burial
@@onyebigwa1908well that's wholly subjective. Personally i think that just because a character doesn't have further development to go through doesn't mean that they have nothing to add to the story. Even in S2 where he was basically a side character he was still wildly relevant on both a practical and emotional level. Him coming back would only be unsatisfying if it happened without cost which is obviously not going to happen since they have to fight Ripley for it. And who knows, he may come back changed lmao
It’s probably a very low chance but I really want him to come back within the last three episodes of the season that will come out this Thursday! 😭
So the spoiler just dropped the supernova....
I hope he is coming back this season, imagine we have to wait a year
@@PercydelRolo I hope so too, and not even a year, this season took almost 2 years to release.

I'm totally going to be rewatching this on repeat for the awesome music that's playing, and not for depression purposes.
I just washed my eyes thats why they're wet...
No other reason 😐
Yup, I am not crying, those are just allergies... In late October... Yup
Soo Orthax eventually got soul of Percy. Im wondering why no one is bothered by it...
@@ThePawcios I think they don't know yet - my guess is Vax will get a vision about Percy never making it to the afterlife/being trapped and then the team will try to help him
Okay then, what are d&d rules on ressurection?
Revivify is a 3rd level spell that requires a diamond worth 300gold and the creature has to have died in the last minute
Resurrection is a 7th level spell and needs a diamond worth 1000gp and the creature cannot have died of old ageor died longer than a century ago. the person casting needs 1 hiur to complete but they can't cast anything else until a long rest.
And then there is true Resurrection a 9th level spell that requires holy water and a diamond worth 25000gp. Creature cannot have died more than 2 centuries ago or from old age.
First comment about covers it. But as they are changing things with the show we may wanna take a look at this scene at the beginning a little closer. Taliesin said the only reason he agreed to keep playing percy was because they enticed his soul to come back. So if you look at the gun when it's picked up it glows, seems easy to imply his soul is in the gun similarly to how pepperbox bound percy to orthax. I'm excited to see how the put a show spin on it because everything there can fall into pieces in different ways than the stream
@@truisticprincethere’s also Raise Dead, which is a 5th level spell, takes an hour to cast, requires a diamond worth at least 500gp, and the target needs to have been dead for no longer than 10 days, not missing bits integral to survival (head & vital organs), and be willing and able to return to the body.
Matt also tends to have a homebrew rule for Raise Dead that turns it into a proper ceremony where multiple players can do stuff to attempt to help bring the soul back, and the success is ultimately tied to a dice roll. Dying multiple times increases the number needed to be rolled each time, and successful contributions either give a bonus or lower the target number back down
Edit: There’s also Reincarnate, also 5th level, takes 1,000gp of materials, also has a time limit of ten days, but doesn’t require the body to still have its key bits - but they might come back as a different race (ex - if used on Percy, he might come back as a gnome or Dragonborn or tiefling or something instead of a human)
I'll add go the rules: Matt changes the rules so the caster needs to succeed on a check. The DC changes with the offerings the cast may add: at first it's 10+how any times a character has died. Then with each successful offering it goes down, but comes back a bit if they fail.
And please correct me if I'm wrong it's been a while since I heard him explain it
I mean he has to come back somehow....... Right?
Did you see the campaign? If not, should I spoil it?

Gracias es una bonita cancion para un capítulo muy bueno de vox machina de esta tercerara temporada con pérdida muy triste
Whats the name of the Song?????
Not How It's Supposed to End - just like the title. It's made for the show so we won't get a clean track until they release the soundtrack
Songs?
Name is in the title.
The smartest man on the show and he died because he was an idiot. 😑
That bitch helps in the destruction of his family, torture him, almost kills his sister, and gives the position of percy hometown to the dragons that culminated in a death of thousands peoples, and still he wants to gives her a redemption choice, fuck that, what a imbecile man.
Nah, he died because he tried to save Ripley. Old Percy would've killed her -- and that's the point. He's not the old Percy anymore. He was trying to move on and actually live a life where he's not the grimdark ver. of Steampunk Batman.
I think he truly believed Ripley could be saved from herself.
Actually, my father said something similar after watching this, but I disagree. He was merciful and forgiving, not an idiot, he saw his old self in Ripley and tried to help. Unfortunately, unlike him, she chose Orthax, revenge and violence. Percy, once also driven by revenge, was killed in one moment he wanted to be forgiving and it makes this whole scene even more tragic
Whats the name of the song?
It's literally in the title of the video. It's not officially released yet.
