Elvis is a singing rodeo rider who drifts into an expensive dude ranch patronized by wealthy glamour girls. The owner, Vera Radford, hires Elvis as a stable man. Pretty physical fitness trainer Pam Merritt has a letter from her late grandfather directing her to a cache of gold in the ghost town of Silverado. The sheriff and his gang learn of the letter and plot to take it away from her.

One of the rare Elvis movies that I had never seen or really wanted to see but seeing Jocelyn Lane for the first time, she was absolutely beautiful. I liked the haunted hotel scene as it was proto Scooby Doo!!

I have always liked Tickle ME. It's one of my favorite Elvis films. Elvis is funny in this film, along with Jocelyn Lane(Wow!) and Jack Mullaney is always good for comic relief.

WOW. BUNCH OF BS CRITICAL COMMENTS. In this Crappy Day of The Kardashians, I Can’t Believe People are Here Criticizing The King. THIS MOVIE WAS NOT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY! It was Just a Fun Movie. Elvis is probably The All Time Number 1 Entertainer and People Would Have Loved Him in Really Dreadful Movies. But I Have Never Seen a Dreadful Elvis Movie. As Far as I’m Concerned, Elvis had a Great Entertainment Career. And Their was Great Support in All of Them. No Shame at All. Happy Trails King. Thank You.
Fully agree with you. I particularly love this among the Kings movies. The downers on the soundtrack are so misplaced and only come from none fans. All the songs are taken from previous Elvis albums and in the main are superior to original soundtrack recordings of the period. In fact it was the only one of the Kings movies to do so to save money for the ailing film studio Allied Artists. 👑

I Didn’t Think Roustabout Would Be Able to Be Touched In The Music Department with So Many Great Tunes and That Great “Big Love” Set. JUST WOW! But Tickle Me, From The Opening Score In the Club, OH MY GOD! Elvis Voice Just Screams at You In An Incredible Tone. If These Guys Were Smart They Would Re-Release These Movies In Theatres. Not Just Elvis But Roy Rogers. Imagine Seeing and Hearing These On The Big Screen! Harum Scarem is Another Great Elvis Movie. Of Course, It’s Considered Horrible or Dull Too. But It’s Songs Have Incredible Meaning and Elvis Sings Them So Beautiful. Who Out There Hasn’t Experience Paradise in Another Person but For God’s Reasons, You Could Not Be with that Person. As Goldman said In His Elvis Biopic, Elvis Was One Of Those People That Could Literally Do Anything, And Do It Well. It’s a Bit Sad To Think That Elvis Didn’t Like Doing the Movies Near the End. Like Most People, He Didn’t Realize How Very Important He Was And What He Meant To The World. One of My Earliest Memories And Fondest Of My Terrible Childhood was Of Watching Tickle Me. Last Year During All this Plan-Demic, I Remembered Tickle Me as I Always Loved the Rotating Door Scene. I Remember Elvis Hanging From It And The Bad Guys Falling. There were terrible movies eg Stay away Joe Harem Scarem Kissing Cousins Double Trouble and this one but he acted them so well that you could not tell that he hated the scripts . He should have been given the serious roles he wanted, but Parker and the fans ruined that
I'm sure Elvis was so tired of this mediocre film hes been doing. All superficial except for his last film with Mary Tyler Moore.
Sadly, Elvis developed into a low grade B actor in frothy, formulaic and assembly line films with paper thin storylines and where the dialogue was excruciating! This sort of film was plumbing the depths of mediocrity!

@@JeromeHughes Up and till 1961, Presley’s film career looked very promising. He was involved with good quality actors and actresses and had appeared in movies with strong and exciting storylines. However, after 1962, the ‘rot set in’ so to speak. The post 1962 movies were incredibly successful (albeit formulaic and somewhat dull) at the box office, hence his manager and studio bosses used the same formula ‘ad nauseam’ to reap the maximum financial benefits. Certainly, the box office receipts were hugely impressive from these assembly line films, but most critics and the public no longer saw Elvis as a individual who would take up the challenge of strong roles, but instead saw him as a lightweight movie performer, who didn’t want to rub shoulders with seriously good actors, in case they stole his limelight. I find it immensely sad that a charismatic singer, with strong acting potential, wasn’t allowed to pursue a serious career in films.

This sort of film confirmed that Elvis had become stuck in a ‘time warp..’ The Pop music industry together with the cinema world had moved on from 1960, with film audiences demanding more social realism from films. Elvis serenading a string of mediocre songs to a bevy of beautiful young women was becoming tiresome in the extreme. ‘Tickle Me’ - typified the sort of formulaic film that Elvis was making and with feeble storylines, wooden acting and corny dialogue, younger audiences were going elsewhere by 1965. Elvis films by 1965 had become recognised as third rate.
With the exception of Sound of Music, West Side Story, Music Man, Bye Bye Birdie! and Oliver!, Elvis films get way more play today than most of the forgotten Academy Award winning films from yesteryear.
@@eeddieedwards3890 Most of his 60’s films are screened in the early hours of the morning or during daytime TV at midday. A lot of these 60’s movies were essentially grade C films when originally released, and regarded by many folk at the time as ‘chewing gum for the eyes.’
@@geoffm9944 Well "B" movies anyway. The Beatles arrived and "A Hard Days Night" and "Help" not only changed the music world but the film world as well. So cool I got to see not only "Tickle Me" on the big screen in1965 but also "Help". It was all "new" to me. Good time to be a kid.
Elvis's worst movie
A type of awful and embarrassing film, that even at the time of its release, was considered an insult to the intelligence. By 1965, this type of film only served to reinforce that Elvis was well out of the popular music and movie loop and was simply trading on his iconic status gained in the 1950’s. I think Presley’s manager should have been deeply ashamed of allowing his protege to be cast in this sort of garbage. The sad fact was that Elvis’s failure to break away from Colonel Parker, meant he was destined to perform in three more years of dreadful movies which all had zero merit.
A really dreadful film, with few, if any redeeming features. Poor acting, puerile scripts, and threadbare story lines made many of these films almost laughable. Sure they made money at the box office, but Elvis’s career as an actor went down the Swanee. Great pity, because his first few films in the 50’s showed real promise, but after 1963, the rot set in when the studios gave up putting Elvis into any films which demanded proper acting and elected to put him into B films, which even when they were first screened were critically panned as dross.
But what about Jocelyn white being bent over in front of Elvis and horny Elvis checking out her nether regions isn't that at least one redeeming quality to this film a?
Not every motion picture needs to be thought provoking. Being a Cowboy free from societal conformity. Having a honest horse a faithful dog having a beautiful woman in every country town. Singing Cowboy songs what more can a man ask for.
I was 7 when I saw this at a theater in 1965 and it scared the crap out of me!

Another undemanding, mediocre and wearisome Elvis film, which had him crooning again to a bevy of beauties and singing mostly dud songs! By 1965, this type of formula may have made serious money at the box office for his adoring fans, but it also painfully showed how far Elvis was becoming detached from the new younger generation, who weren’t simply content to watch Elvis strumming a guitar in films with third rate storylines. The standard of acting in these films was for the most part awful! Elvis was essentially becoming a younger version of Dean Martin. Music and films had moved on by the mid 60’s but Elvis hadn’t. Very sad waste of talent!
