    If you don't play tennis, you can never appreciate how smooth Roger moves on court

    All this brilliance. No grunting, huffing and puffing like Nadal or Nole. Just pure bliss.

    AO 17 was the most intense grandslam I ever watched❤

    What makes his forehand so great is his inside out shot. It's literally his go to shot and if you ever think about biting he hits you with the heavy cross court roller. Beautiful.

    Watching this after seeing Roger's retirement interview at Laver Cup few days ago. Still in shock. He will be missed and there will never be another Federer.

    And his backhand was off the charts in the tournament.

    12:45, is that Federer peppering Nadal's backhand?

    The greatest gift of Tennis to mankind is the Phenomenon of Federer.
    You cannot quantify the joy the bliss of witnessing Federer play.
    If God ever decided to play Tennis.
    One cannot help but think that this is the way we would see God play.

    Roger's down the line and cross court forehands have always been deadly but now his off forehand is equally as deadly.

    Back to this video after witnessing what this man did in Basel.
    He really took his forehand to another level this year. That Goffin match man...brutal

    The court at Melbourne has slowed down. It's more fun to watch fast-surface court

    It is the best and most versatile shot in the universe, except when he gets it wrong. Then it's like a glitch in the universe itself.

      His forehand was always this good, it's just highlighted by the fast court.

      It's the best I've seen him hit since the racquet change. Fed hits the forehand (especially the inside out) with more confidence and authority now, he was hitting winner after winner off that wing. I also think his forehand is now one of the heaviest on tour looking at the amount of short balls he was able to draw from Nadal, he can hold his own in rallies better these days.
      Besides, It was at Miami where his FH really shine IMO; At AO his BH was on par with his FH.

    • @dbcane
      @dbcane 7 років тому +1

      NinaNoni1 I think this is the cleanest FH tourney he's ever had and I've seen them all. It was from another Planet how early and stupid clean he was spanking it. Wicked spin that I swear looked like the heavier ball between him and Nadal which is saying something.

    • @kcazzzzz
      @kcazzzzz 6 років тому

      he improved his backhand a lot, plus he changed his racquet to a bigger face, which amped his shot power and spin. he probably felt that it was necessary to make up for the lose in physical power due to age

    All the great baseliners really love these courts in Melbourne. Something about the way the ball reacts to the court. Agassi Fed Lendl Courier Novak ect ect

    Federer still has the best forehand in the game, but it's not even close to the forehand from 04-07. That Federer forehand is the best shot in tennis history. It was flat, hit from a loop and with immense power. It's the price you pay for changes in technique (now there's top spin) and racquet size. He's got a lot more finesse now, and the backhand is actually no longer a liability. If Federer is healthy and confident firing from both wings, he's the player to beat even at 37.

    • @valojaillangasinghe1478
      @valojaillangasinghe1478 6 років тому +5

      Actually his forehand is exactly the same technically and just as good... he has to hit with more spin, mainly due to balls and courts.

    4:40 Federer clearly wins this game with that forehand, and then afterwards he's 4-0 behind?

    • @Masterdoctorgenius14
      @Masterdoctorgenius14 7 років тому +8

      bruxonn12 nope. nishikori was serving and 40-15 up in that game. Fed made it 40-30 with that FH winner but nishi won that game to lead 4-0
